In the anime he couldn't touch Hit while it was pointed out in the manga that he could've beaten him if he didn't show Cabba Blue.
In the anime's first fight with Black he was a complete joke while in the manga he nearly killed him. He did nothing during the 2nd fight in the anime and in the last one his victory was short lived while in the manga he won and there was nothing Black could do.
In the anime he did little to nothing to fused Zamasu while in the manga he saved Goku form him and got the final blow before Zeno stepped in.
In the current arc the manga starts with him training with Whis then fighting Beerus, 2 things the anime didn't have.
I am enjoying Vegeta's role in the anime (although it's been a bit cut down in this current arc) but these all sound great. Can't wait to read more of the manga. If only the Viz volume releases weren't so slow....

You'd think they'd release them faster to take advantage of the anime being behind in the west.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

So the extended Vegetto's fight was really better than his original appearance in monthly publication. Seeing he in action is always superb! Still, his unfinished Final Kamehameha is a sad cockblock

You do have to congratulate the manga for making a pliable route of equalisation for Vegeta. In the anime, he's commonly second-fiddled in the interest of propping Goku up. The manga does this as well but it at least offers a solid explanation to vindicate Vegeta and pave the way for him catching back up with Goku.

The US has made some strange decisions with the English releases of Super. Latin America is already past the US both in their dub and release of Super. I think they are up to Vol 3 of the manga and up to the Future Trunks arc. Not sure why the US has to be so far behind.
It looks like France is getting Volume 3 in February. While the US is only getting the complete Volume 2 here in December. The chapters are out there so why can't they release them. It seems like they don't want to get ahead of the dub which is just dumb. The dub needs to speed things up too.

I had completely forgotten about the back cover of Volume 4:

Love it! Toyotaro is really knock it out of the park in this department.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

I find his art okay, but I really can't stand how he draws Black and especially Merged Zamasu.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

The cover art looks good, if only he didn't give Black and Merged Zamasu the same pose.
Why I use "Geran" instead of "Jiren"

That's not how it works and that's not what's confirmed. That is just your interpretation, an incomplete one with some twisting.
Toei is based on manga so manga is canon
What? Toei is not based on manga. And Toyotaro also gives his ideas so its not 100% Toriyama.

Toriyama barely does anything as far as I’m aware. He basically just gives what the jist of the arc is and does little plot points so both the manga and anime meet at one point and then he allows them to do their own thing for the most part.

Vegeta is much better in the manga than the anime. He can do anything Gokuh can basically

TBH, I think the manga sucking up to Vegeta in the Universe 6 tournament due to him being unable to use his full-power against Hit kind of hurts the arc more than it helps it. That fight is also when sucking up to Vegeta feels the most forced.

Yep. Both the anime and manga depict that there is still a rivalry. With all the training they do, how they make each other better and the "I am going to get ahead of you" statements they say at each other.
Yet the manga is really only resembling a closeness between the two in power. The anime just has Vegeta pretending a rivalry with Goku in his head.

I always thought it pretty obvious that SSBKK was just something Toei came up with to build excitement for the U6 tournament arc finale, as evidenced by how much it breaks the power scaling and how inconsistent it's use has been (e.g Goku going from not using it at all vs Goku Black despite getting slapped around by him, to using it for half a second against Fused Zamasu, to using it randomly sparring with Gohan, but not using it in the Hit rematch) The story flows much smoother without it.

No, having Vegeta's loss to Hit come down to "Oh he simply didn't have enough power, if he did he would have kicked Hits arse", pretty much makes Hit a worthless opponent in the manga and makes the point of the arc, showing off how powerful other universes are, completely redundant because nobody can match up to Goku or Vegeta in the slightest because just so strong. How they handled Vegeta's loss in the anime was far better because they didn't cheapen Vegeta's loss by saying "oh he could of won easily if he was at full power", in the anime, Vegeta lost to an opponent that was still weaker than him, but outclassed him using a unique ability, nothing more nothing less. The fact that the manga had to make an excuse for Vegeta's loss, comes off as Toyotaro trying to pander to Vegeta fans.

I dunno about that. The interview kinda shows Toriyama got into more specifics regarding the arc that Toei chose to ignore, like Merged Zamasu being affected by the Potara retcon and the final fight being between Zamasu and Goku.

I keep hearing this argument, and it's one of the things that kind of curb my interest in the manga. I don't follow the chapter releases, but I intended to buy several of the volumes once enough are out. I know Toyotaro started as a fancomic artist and that he had pretty well known series before, and I'd suspect his personal preferences would be more apparent there.
Then again, my personal bias is what makes me dislike the alleged preferential treatment, so I shouldn't complain

I didn't like the way that was handled because it makes Vegeta look like an incompetent twit for failing to notice the flaw in the first place, especially when it gets handwaved away in the Future Trunks arc so Vegeta can do his god-blue thing with a 'wow, he's really been training,' like it only existed so he could lose that one fight and try to save face.
