BT2 Character Select Problem (Wii)

I just got BT2 the other day from a friend. I just got through the Freeza Saga and Son Goku has 4 costumes now. When I go to dueling or practice or whatever, if I try to play as Son Goku, I can select whether or not I want Normal or Custom but when I try to select a costume it won't let me choose anything when I'm using the Wiimote and Nunchuck. If I have the classic controller it works just fine.

I've tried every button and from several distances but nothing works. Anyone else have the problem?

Yeah, it's kind of a strange glitch. It goes away past Buu saga, I think.

So, in otherwords, there's nothing I can do about it except just use the Classic Controller?

EDIT: After searching around a bit, I found that if you take the cursor off the screen (to the right, I think?) while selecting the costume and hit A it'll choose the costume. I'll try it out later. Right now I have guests playing WarioWare.

EDIT 2: It works!
