Completely unneccesary and pointless. Hence my point. It makes no sense for them to do that. "Dragon Ball Super" is just fine the way it is, no need to change it.

This interview was very weird. Not only did Toriyama-san himself say in an earlier interview hat Toei changes things when they need but - and that is my addition - it does not matter anyway if they do not change a thing about his draft for the very reason that writers still have to make up so much and invent things all by themselves about the story around that draft that not changing those few core elements is pretty insignificant in direct comparison.

I don't think they can change the main script. If Toriyama doesn't add Goten and Trunks in the tournament there's no way Toei will add them in the tournament and stuff like that.

But what exactly is considered the "main script"? The draft of bullet points/key elements/key events that is not even close to the amount of story a writer has to actually write? Even if that is considered the main script it does not change that Toriyama-san said they change what they need to change. Of course they are not going to add something that big as "character xyz is in there or not" but that's not automatically the only thing you can do when talking about "changing what they need".

Honesty so much. I don't understand the obsession people have over it. It's just a draft to guide the story that is all. It's no different to Toriyama giving Toei filler ideas or designing filler characters for Z and GT. Hell I'm pretty sure Toriyama only has his typical original author credit on DBS nothing for story.

Yes, I also am not too fond of how Super is marketed this much with credit to Toriyama-san. He deserves all the credit for the work he is doing but story-wise people so often make it look like he is the only one making the story. Even the German Super manga is advertised as "Konzept & Story" (Concept & Story) Akira Toriyama. Surely he does his part but Toyble and the Toei writers should get the proper amount of credit they deserve for their story involvement as well. It is just that Super sells better this way.

Well, when you answer every question with draft and not give a yes or no answer to well ANYTHING. People question you if you actually know a thing about the show you are directing and producing. without his


Toyotaro doesn't do this.

I can understand this but at the same time...to quote what I got in my head, "A person's truth is so simple, that most ignore it to concentrate on what they think are deeper truths." Not saying you are ignoring anything but speaking generally it could be as simple as that sometimes. I have no reason to doubt him, I'm not the one that receives anything from Toriyama and if I did I wish it was that handjob.

No, i would believe all of this if not for 3 things.


1. Toriyama is a lazy man. There is no way he is doing THIS much before behind the scenes.


2. We have a manga based off said draft. The paths are mostly very different. Heck Gohan isnt even in the manga but the anime he goes back and forth. They are saying they can only make suggestions and can't change anything without his permission.

3. This interview makes it seem like Toei has virtually no power over anything in the story besides suggestions and requests but Toyo has never once hinted he was tied down like that. This implies that toyo has more freedom than toei, which is baffling to say the least.


Now, i could be wrong, and tori has all the power then my new question is what is in the draft and how do we know who came up with what so we can praise or blame?

That SSG Goku shots looks incredibly good! Now I'm very hyped for episode 114, and I'm glad SSG is being used more, it justifies them bringing it back. I also like how "evil" Goku looks in that shot where he's near Freeza. Their interactions are always super good, so I'm looking forward to that.
