Anything Happen Like This To You?

Post by Bomber Greek » Fri Oct 05, 2007 7:27 pm

Please tell me if a thread like this is not allowed...

I have a lot of trouble finding Dragon Ball battles on YouTube. I may get a lot of results from searching for battles, but they are not good results... Guess what they are. They're always crap AMVs that are showing a battle with some lame Linkin Park song (or something like that) that doesn't relate to the contents of the video AT ALL. Why is this? I believe that all AMVs should show on the screen what is related to the words. Really.

Does anyone else have a hard time finding specific Dragon Ball fights/moments?

I gave up looking. It's near impossible to find anything on YouTube. People are jerks, and will put just about every DBZ(or whatever you're looking for)-related tag in their description just to draw people to their video when they're looking for something completely different.

YouTube's management needs to track down and hand out the bans to THESE kind of people, instead of those with actual talent, like, yes, LittleKuriboh.

Here's what I normally find on YouTube.

-AMVs
-Videos that the uploaders claim to be AMVs but are so bad they shouldn't be called AMVs.
-English video clips w/ comments about how the Japanese version sucks
-Bootleg VHS fansub clips

Very rarely will I find video clips for the Japanese episodes. Especially ones that aren't badly fansubbed Dragon Box rips.

A user gokuden553 has tons of Japanese DBZ fights. I subscribed to him last week.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

He used to post around here. He's got a bunch of bootlegs (which half those clips are probably off of) and swipes other people's videos.

Quote changed aorund to tell you what was up.

Hey, I remember that guy... he soundhed like he got sucked into a bootleg, then started showing off it's "awesome" subtitles, and saying how superior it was to the FUNi releases.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Not that I approve of bootlegging, but he may have been right on that one. And that's terrible.

Wow, I was actually about to start a topic about the same exact thing. I know that we can't post links to actual episodes here, but I don't see why we can't discuss Dragonball and Youtube.

It really is a pain trying to find any anime without it being AMVs. Heck, I tried to find the fight from Superman 2 and couldn't find just the footage. Youtube does need strict rules on descriptions of videos.

Questions: I was trying to find a few of the movies that I was able to see just a few months ago but can't seem to find them, have they been taken down?

What's the status of FUNimation and Toei's relationship with Youtube, are they trying to get the Dragonball content removed?

I don't see why it has to be removed, as the people are not breaking any rule, and are simply annoying. I wish that all those people who take a fight, make crap music play, and call it an AMV should realize what they're doing.

Are you sure they're bootleg? He claims they're from the DBOX

They are from the Dragonbox but not truthfully his since they were taken from a member called milieu who has finished uploading all of his ones and is now currently doing Naruto battles.

Even stranger the other day in his channels comment box he (Gokuden553) said that after he's uploaded all of his requested battle clips (more like the ones that milieu has finished) he was going to take requests to upload full battles from his DB Dragonbox sets and the battle which got the most requests would be uploaded in full on his profile.

Could this mean that he's going to upload a complete battle or more like a complete Dragonball episode with an intro/last episode preview/episode/ending/next episode preview???

I guess we'll just have to wait and see before we start pointing fingers at him or such. But either way he's just a fake and a fraud in my oppinion but good for a joke

Oooo, Linkin Park Z vids. I also find the same thing with Naruto, I swear to God, it doesn't matter what semi-known song that you type into the search, it's gaurenteed that you'll find a few Naruto vids, it's both ridiculous and annoying. And all of them use the same clips! I'm actually happy that they decided to remove AMVs from YouTube, there are so many Naruto vids on YouTube its disgusting.

I have trouble all the time finding the fights. As SSJ Kaboom said, most of the vids aren't even real fights, their the AMVs with tags to make it look like fights so that you click on it.

But there is one guy named ssjboy on YouTube that edits all the fights so that it's only the fighting parts, not the filler scenes in between. However, if you just want general scenes, then the guy named coolestanto uploads all the "Great Dragon Ball Scenes", he's uploaded hundreds of them.

It's not just that there's tags for the fight you're looking for, it's that they put tags on the videos for EVERYTHING. As in, the average crappy, worthless AMV is given every. single. DBZ (or whatever the subject is)-related tag the video's creator could think of, just to draw people to his horrible, piece-of-sheeyit AMV when 99.999999999999% of the time, they're looking for something else entirely. It's a sleezy and eternally annoying "tactic."

Apparently, he's uploaded Mike's "Three Outta Four Ain't Bad" AMV, too. He gave credit where credit was due, at least.
