They just shit-canned the whole idea of having a new Dragon Ball series without Toriyama's involvement and decided go the cheaper and easier route, and Dragon Ball Kai was born. And that majorly backfired in Japan as well.
He didn’t have to do an anime though he could just do a manga like his Jaco and DB minus. The anime exists because of Toei and Bandai. The stories exist because of Toriyama. An anime/movie was never a guarantee or from Toriyama himself. They exist because Toei/Bandai want them to exist and make money.
The manga wasn't very popular as you would know and Toriyama struggled to do those 2 as well. He is over 60.
And , no. If toei and bandai could have made an anime on their own. they would have done it back 08 when they came to him
Toriyama's name is on everything in super. They are pushing his name hard. We just had an interview, where they literally said Toriyama is in charge and word is final. Now i don't believe that but it does show that toei is pushing his name.
No one is denying that toei and bandai are using dragon ball to make money but they have learned from their 2 failed series and there is a reason why super has lasted longer than GT and has sold more merch. Toriyama's name is that main reason.
Which means you can blame him for what you don't like about the show.
GT anime did fail but so far mechandise has been selling like crazy. Look at Dokkan Battle, everyone was waiting for the SSJ4 cards as well as the One Star Dragon.
Also, there's a lot of promotion for SSJ3 GT Goku (Idk why?)

You are correct, GT has sold more and that is thanks to heroes/

Could you give me the source on that? (bold). Also not everything was Toriyama idea, remember he at some point was dissatisfied with Super and wanted to leave, but Toei had to provide him ideas for a new arc. By all the matters I think Toei is the great responsible of the franchise growth since 2013.
That still comes from an unsourced person and never been backed up by anyone.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.
Okay here is my comment on this “it’s not a weapon or health item so technically it’s allowed”.
-The potara is just like the fruit Basil had used, gives the users a massive power-up that isn’t part of their original strength. In a way, They are the same exepct it is not a food but an item.
-when that pride trooper used his rope-like ki attack or some other characters (can’t remember exactly) they usually comment on it is that it is a part of their ki so it’s ok, implying anything that isn’t part of the user’s body/attacks is not allowed.
-People on the audience seats can’t interfere but it is okay if they have it beforehand? What about when Goku receives energy from his friend. And Ribirianne too. You may say it is not a physical interference but it is still an interference that gives someone an advantage more than others. In that sense, it is okay for gods to give their energy to their fighters like Sidra.
-“it is cool so it is allowed” implies that it really shouldn’t be allowed. If it didn’t break the rules, he can just simply say that.

- Not the same since U9 Supreme Kai directly gal Basil the fruit in the middle of a match.
- The rule is that no weapons/healing items. Anything can be used as a weapon if you want to used a very loose definition. Someone could take off their shirt and strangled one of their opponents before ringing them out. Does that count as using a weapon since your shirt isn't part of your body? We got this answer when Krillin used his smelly shoe.
- Kale and Cali had the earrings on their person before the tournament, so it really isn't any different than Roshi carrying around bottles for his Evil Containment Wave. So no, the 'audience' didn't interfere. Also, both Goku and Ribirianne's stuff were techniques that gathered energy from others, so it isn't the same as Frost trying to directly attack Freeza after he was out. The gods given energy would be direct interference since it isn't part of a technique.

-If something is forbidden then it doesn’t matter whether they have it before or in the middle of the match. Grand Priest only commented about the fruit itself. Nothing implies that the reason it’s forbidden is because the Supreme Kai gave it to him. Therefore, even if he has it before the match it is still not allowed.
-Ok that is a good point, but then the problem is with the writing’s poor explanation of what exactly count as a weapon. Them saying the “not part of the body” still does exist and contradict some scenes.
-Can’t see why Goku’s friends don’t count as interference but the gods do count. If it’s about “a technique that gather energy” then Beerus could gave his energy to him when he was charging the spirit bomb as well. And yes it’s a technique that gathers energy from others, that is why I don’t have problem with characters that are still in the arena giving their energies. But for Krilling and the other, giving Goku more energy = helping him gain more power. It is still "helping him". They still contributed to it don't see why it's not an interference just because it is a technique that gathers energy.
Also, why the gods giving energy doesn't couns as technique. What is your definition of a Technique? It's literally the same thing.
The discussion ended but I’ll say the reason that tingly saiyans annoy me is the time they are taking is ridiculous for what they bring.Unlike characters like hit, botamo,Majid Katie they bring nothing unique except they have boobs.
At least,U2 girls bring something unique.
Why power levels are important?
Spoiler:
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
Toyotaro clarifies his DBS vol.4 interview comments: by "Zamasu wasn't originally that strong", he means Merged Zamasu and Black too...... And by "it's hard to depict tension in a DB story" he means because people can be resurrected with the Dragon Balls if they die.

Spoilers drop, people cry fake, and then they're confirmed real and everyone complains anyway.
I'm taking with a truck of salt because 'my friend told me', but otherwise considering the possibility that they could very well be real
The thing is that these title leaks came out like 7 hours ago, and we still don't have any scans from people like Herms or YonkouProd, meaning they still don't have the magazine yet. For some odd reason, someone's friend managed to get the magazines and tell us the episode titles, but not what those episodes are about, and still didn't show us a scan eventhough he promised.
It just screams fake.
Just to clarify, the reason we call them leaks is because they're not supposed to be out yet. People like Yonkou(not Herms) get them early through some unknown means. But this guy's friend says he went and bought them. Which makes you wonder why this is the one guy who bought them and no one else.
It was another guy who promised scans. I don't post there so I can't judge his credibility or gauge their personality to tell if they're joking. I saw that you do, so maybe you could tell me. As far as I could tell they have a long history of providing scans.
I only made an account Saturday, I don't know much about the website and its users.
But, just recently, they confirmed those "leaks" are fake, and they only created them to troll another user.
In the spoilers there is no mention of Piccolo and Gohan vs Saonel and Pilina along with no mention of Vegeta vs Toppo. These 2 fights are probably going to be the 2 longest in the whole tournament.
I have a feeling 118 has U6 going poof, I doubt Kefla will survive UI and when she gets thrown out... only those 2 namekians will remain, ep 118 could have that fight and end it with U6 going byebye.
Actually I am pretty happy we will finally get to see more of the Androids. I mean they are in next weeks preview but who knows how large of a part that will be at least with them in the title they should end up doing more.
118 sounds interesting too. I guess that is either U6 or U2.
I am going to go through Vegeta withdrawl though lol
