Mama's boy.
Oh that's so great. XD
*Recalls some wonderfully hilarious lines from B3 about Vegeta, the fusion dance, and hiding behind shrubs*
That's one thing I hope for in terms of the game's dub; dialogue to poke fun at.
I also love how that sounded like Vegeta, not that Piccolo-impersonating-Vegeta thing Mr. Sabat's done recently.
On hiatus.
Did anything happen to Norio Wakamoto? His voice for Cell is EXTREMELY off.

Listen for the way he says 'Kamehameha' and how his voice sorta goes into a high pitched sound from time to time. It sounds so odd to me.

My DBZ Sparking Meteor for the Wii came in today.... Sadly, I had low expectations after the disappointing Sparking Neo and the Wii version of Budokai Tenkaichi 2. I popped in the game before dinner, watched the ho-hum intro... then went into the practice mode (luckily guessing the kanji) and played for a bit...

I apologize and take back every bad thing I've ever said about the game..
The first thing I noticed is that the controls were revamped BIG time, making it a million times easier to play than BT2 on the wii. There's no more slow movements when you move left or right, so moving around and dodging is much easier. You can even shake the wiimote forward to immediately dash to your opponent no matter where you are on the screen. Flying up and down is as easy as double tapping the c and z buttons. I'm pretty sure a lot of the controls are similar to BT2, but the feel much more responsive and fluid here.
The special attacks are much easier to do and you won't be smacking yourself with the nunchuk wire anymore
One problem I had with BT2 on the wii was doing Kaio Kens when I wanted to do Kamehamehas and vice versa, but Spike has revamped the controls well enough that you'll be able to do all of the special attacks without much hassle. Doing a Kaio Ken is as easy as holding right on the control pad of the wiimote to charge and moving both of your hands down. You'll see a prompt at the bottom left of the screen telling you that you can actually do the move, plus the icon will show you the motion you need to do so you don't have to constantly keep pausing to check the move-list (although you'll still be doing that a lot). When you do a Kamehameha, you can hold the wiimote and nunchuk near your waist to keep charging it up and you thrust your hands forward to fire. Doing a Genki Dama is pretty much getting into your Sparking mode, holding down on the wiimote's control pad just moving your hands down really fast (even at waist level). I can't remember how all of the controls worked in BT2, but they're much more responsive in this game.
The story mode is a tad different since they got rid of the world map from BT2/Neo and went back to the menu select mode of the original. However, as most of you heard, a lot of the fights seem to be missing. The Freeza saga actually begins with the Recoome fight, but I assume the rest of the fights will be unlocked later. You actually need to do a lot of the fights in one setting (I had to fight Recoome, Jeice, and Burter with Goku alone and no energy refills). This can get quite tough since I actually lost to Oozaru Vegeta a few times after regular Vegeta whooped me for a while.
There's just so many great things to say about the wii version of the game, but you absolutely have to play it to see how awesome it is. I'll also be getting the US version so I can play against a few of you since I doubt I'll find anyone else to play with the japanese version online.
I highly recommend having a ton of space to play since you'll really be getting into it as much as I did.
Was it worth modding my wii? Hell yeah. Get a japanese wii, mod your wii, wait for the US version, hell, just get a wii for this. DO ANYTHING YOU CAN TO PLAY THIS GAME! This is like the DBZ game I've been waiting for since the dawn of time.
Once I get access to a digital camera again, I'll post pics of the case and manual. Nothing super spectacular like the previous sparkings/BTs, but it's nice to look at.
I'd play more, but I got homework to do now...

What happened to Cell's "throaty" Kamehameha that used to sound so awesome!?
And I hope the PS2 version is just as good as the Wii version sounds.

Wow. After all the negativity you had given the as your anticipation of the game, this is a very surprising turnaround. This is looking to be very good if you get it for the Wii. When I played the PS2 demo at Comic-Con, I didn't expect much, and I doubt the PS2 owners will be getting much change, but for the Wii, it sounds like we're gonna be getting a quality game. It's going to be a difficult monthCastor Troy wrote:Big Post of Goodness

Yeah, now I'm a believer!
The game is quite a workout too.... I lost to Oozaru Vegeta since I was getting tired out from playing the game. I don't plan on getting the ps2 version, but I highly recommend getting a wii just to play the wii version. I dunno if it'll be easy to find a wii nowadays, but snatch one up if you can find it. The game is seriously so much fun and is the closest thing to actually fighting like the characters on the show.
Once the US version comes out, maybe we can host tournaments or something like that. I'd totally be down for playing with a lot of you online.

I'll be getting a Wii soon. The online mode is what pretty much convinced me and after hearing what Castor had to say I have no doubt in my mind this'll be the best in the Sparking! series (or the better of the past 3-D DBZ games for that matter).

I wonder if the PS2 version will be just as good, 'cuz I sure as hell can't afford a Wii.

Man, I was just playing my PS2 version of BT2 and cursing it out cuz it was so unresponsive and the startup times were being a pain in butt. But it'svgood to hear that the Wii version of BT3 seems to be an improvement. Ye know, something that I just found out? Goten and Trunk can fuse as Super Saiyans. Kinda wish Vegetable and Goku could as well.
How does the Classic Controller feel with it? That gonna more than likely be my layout of choice being that this is a fighting game.
So ... you guys think that in five or six months from now when the European and Australian versions are released that they may end up with more characters, levels, and features again?

Remember back then when I brought up a METEOR clip of Cell saying "CHIKKUSHO!"? After watching the end credits, Cell is indeed voiced by Norio Wakamoto in the game. So...what happened? Lack of pay, or just bad direction? I was actually nerdy enough to listen to the Podcast episode which analyzes Wakamoto's voice work just for comparison's sake.SonEric84 wrote:Saiyan wrote:Did anything happen to Norio Wakamoto? And since Metroid Prime 3 won't make it there for a few more months, I figured the same was true for other Wii titles.

I dunno... Maybe the Wii version will be out later? I'm pretty sure that BT2 came out later on the Wii than PS2 if I recall... Either way, I haven't got a Wii yet. So it'll be the PS2 version for me, at least when it first comes out.Anonymous Friend wrote:I've read conflicting reports all around. Some say winter '07, some 1st quarter '08 ...
