I got DB for $200 (Madman's R4 sets)
I've already ordered movies 2&3 and plan to move on to GT before the season sets swoop in.

Actually, I think it's because the DVD sets weren't as widely spread out as the DBZ and even GT DVDs. I can't say I've *ever* seen Dragon Ball DVDs new in store when they were in print. o_O
Back in their day I saw them at Best Buy, Suncoast, Sam Goody, FYE, and even Target! They were definitely around.

Must be because I'm in Florida, then. We either get nothing or everything later. Especially South Florida.

I went to a best buy in Aventura(today), they had a copy of the Tournament saga DVD. Plus a bunch of cell games DVDs.

It's true that it seems like DBZ DVDs are still everywhere, but there are some (or at least one), that are really hard to get. I'm looking for Cell Games- Nightmare's End and I can't find it for a good price anywhere.

I will second the "never saw any of the DB sets in stores".
I really never did, and I still haven't, not even used, and I have been all over the place. I live in Connecticut, right near New York City actually, and have never come across any of the sets in any store I have been in. I remember seeing the vhs tapes, but that's it. Every time I go to a store that sells anime I always check, and still nothing.
Well, I am going to be in Las Vegas tomorrow, maybe I might find something there.

I've had the set for a few years now.
Amazingly enough, it has the best episodes in the entire series.
So if you don't have it, you're really missing out.
In fact, I watch it every day of my life.
I'm watching it now.

The fight between Goku and Roshi is my personal favorite.
