Sorry Webmaster. I just i feel the song doesn't fit DBZ at all. I'm one that prefers the Japanese music, and between that and the hack job for the first DBZ opening that Pioneer made,it brings my hatred of the song to high levels. But i will refrain from making such comments in the future.VegettoEX wrote:As phenomenal as it perhaps is that you "fucking hate that song", please refrain from posting such irrelevant comments in a discussion thread. Who sang "Rock the Dragon"?

Funny, I always thought it was the best of the dub openings, It's definitely preferable to those weak cut together openings (Garlic Jr saga) with the equally weak Bruce Faulconer instrumentals.Raki wrote: the first DBZ opening that Pioneer made,it brings my hatred of the song to high levels
Now those make my hatred soar.

Remember, 1996 was a different time. It was back when the thought of anime on US tv was, "More Japanese, less marketable". Also that was back when they did anime similar to American cartoons, and back then, American action cartoons' themes were either actiony instrumentals, or had to do with the plot, or name of the title and mainly instrumental.Raki wrote:Sorry Webmaster. (Random sirens for no reason combined with synthetic techno) "Dragon Ballll Zeeeeeeee"
And of course:
"Grand Tour, Grand Tour, Step into da Grand Tour!"
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

With the latter, it's better as an instrumental. The S wrote:Aye. Not sure what song you're thinking of, but this is the one that aired in Canada...VegettoEX wrote:Did this ever actually air in Canada in any way, shape, or form? I somehow doubt it.
(It's put to video game animation, but this is the song)

We also got "Rock the Dragon" occasionally, but I'd say 95% of the time they used this song (speaking of the original 1996 broadcast, of course). It originally used the exact same animation as the American opening.

Nope, I'm talking about a completely different song. At least that one doesn't pretend to throw in any extra lyrics, or anything... it is what it is... DBZ!The Lecherous Muten Roshi wrote:If that's the song EX is talking about, then it aired left right and centre with the same animation as Rock The Dragon. But I've never heard of a Groove Mix or anything.
Here's the one I'm talking about.

Okay, that's the first time I've heard that, and I've watched all kinds of Dragon Ball on Canadian TV. Anyway, that's pretty awesome.VegettoEX wrote:Nope, I'm talking about a completely different song. At least that one doesn't pretend to throw in any extra lyrics, or anything... it is what it is...
