How would you feel if Goku's outfit had varied more?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Blue Gi were replaced with the classic one outright if they reach that point in the story. Logically if Super were to cover it, they'd do the Kanzenban ending this time, and it would be logical to assume that they might include Super characters into the proceedings like Beerus and Whis just for the familiarity. In a sense we might get a third version of that ending!

There's plenty of variety in Goku's outfits as Kunzait_83, has pointed out. I'm hoping that Super has Goku in his EOZ outfit at some point, but what I'm really bummed about the most is the ROF outfit just disappearing after the Champa/Universe 6 arc. It just setl so arbitrary and unnecessary. Thoses outfits were great, why get rid of them so soon?

The belt? I don't see how since the RF gi had it.

The loose strands of the belt constitute to secondary animation that would have to be drawn in. The sash is basically the belt without the loose stuff. I suspect that the symbol on the front of the gi was also removed because it was complicated to draw that all the time as well.

For the original manga, I get why Toriyama changed it in the Cell arc amongst giving every Saiyan SS including having Goku and Gohan in SS all the time! But for anime especially DBS they already have the Kanji anyway and plus like I said the RF gi had belt anyway and didn't seem to be a problem. I just think the classic gi looks better with a belt.

The symbols on the gi would be much easier to do nowadays since all you have to do is digitally paste the kanji-circle in and distort it to fit the perspective. Don't misunderstand me though, I love the belt style better too1 I'm also not much of a fan of just how low the collar of the outer shirt is getting.

Ahh, gotcha. I figured it was different due to the differing art style from the OG arc; the eyes have that flat bottom and aren't round, the characters themselves aren't like squashed Matroyska dolls, and the lines overall feel more "confident" compared to how the anime drew that era of art (I don't think they truly started looking 1:1 like Toriyama artwork until the Android saga). Another giveaway of course is Goku's hair, which is in the more organized look that came about after that arc, rather than the general "hair spikes up on the side!" look from that era.

Off-topic: If that scene is where I think it is, Roshi's Island, then that immediately makes it non-canon because they left for the training island right after they showed Launch to Roshi. Furthermore they don't add anything new to their regime on the island, it's just milk delivery, ploughing, construction work, lake swimming and bee dodging all day every day! And lastly, Goku is shown to be stronger than Krillin pretty much immediately; aside from blowing a hole in Pilaf's extremely strong castle, he also moves the large rock further than Krillin does, and Krillin himself says right there that he can't move it as far as Goku can. So pretty much every facet of that scene is flawed! It would be more appropriate to say that being stronger than Goku seemed much more attainable back then because the gap wasn't so darn large.

I'm pretty sure that was a dub line. In the Japanese version (and Kai's dub) I seem to recall that he's envisioning what it would be like if he had to lower his power to match Goku's back in the day.

It's when Goku is teaching the kids fusion, mentioning that Trunks needs to lower his power to match Goten's if I'm not mistaken.
