That said, the hate comments the particular character gets on YouTube (and heck, even here) is a 50-50 mixed bag.
I agree with God-Kaio-Ken somewhat. A good portion of the hate these four female characters get could possibly *be* because of sexism.
Lets ask ourselves the following things:
Is Gotenks so universally hated as Kefla? If not, why? Isn't he also acting like an arrogant spoiled brat? Didn't he also effortlessly reached the Big Bad's power level without actually breaking a sweat? So why is Kefla any different?
Why was 18 loved for kicking Vegeta's ass but Caulifla is hated for (somewhat) giving Goku a run for his money?
Why was Vegeta praised for fighting Frieza back on Namek despite doing the same things Caulifla did (praising his own self while doing absolutely nothing to hurt the Big Bad)?
So yeah, it's kinda sexist in my eyes. It's almost as if we men consider bragging a male-only thing. Which is why Vegeta and Gotenks seem to be getting a free pass (when they brag incessantly), while Caulifla and Kefla catch hell for it by the fandom. If a woman can't walk the walk, she mustn't talk the talk. Which is *probably* why 18 is loved. She talks little and lets her actions speak for her. This is a kind of attitude that men seem to admire in women, which is why 18 is loved by fans (or at least, tolerated).
This is my opinion, of course. A psychologist I'm not.
