Why are 5/8 universes total fodder?

Post by BlueVegerot » Sun Nov 26, 2017 1:11 pm

u6,u7 and u11 are the only universes with really strong fighters. the other 5 are vast majority fodder. Maji Kayo aside and maybe the bugs are strong ( i doubt it, probably just stealth). ribrianne was the ace of u2 and she lost to an injured 18 who is probably 7th best on u7. Everyone except maji kayo from u3 is a total joke. u9 and u10 showed absolutely nothing and u4 only has two invisibly bugs and shantsa ( who maybe they surprise us and make him canon janemba). How is it that toei/toriyama didn't think to put atleast one ssg level fighter in every universe? these are supposed to be the best of the best no?

We don’t know if these guys are the best of the best. Boo is better than most of the 7th Universe Representatives but isn’t participating. We also know that power is not a sole factor in this since Trunks and Goten were left out and Muten-Roushi was chosen. We also know it was convenient for some of these characters because Boo was asleep, laziness on Shin's part, using the same warriors from the previous tournament, only using a certain group like the Pride Troopers, and probably other reasons. I mean, Champa just wanted more Saiyans because of Gokuh and Vegeta and more Hits since Hit is so good and experienced. They did not have enough time to scout the entire universe for better warriors. They didn’t have time to ponder on who was better than who. There was no need to have every character super strong like No. 17 or anyone else because you can’t focus on every character and you wouldn’t have short fights or warroiors that’re better than others if you have everyone on the same level or around the same level. Power is not the sole factor in this tournament. Muten-Roushi was able to beat Ganos but we know Ganos was stronger.

Because prior to BoG Ultimate Gohan was the strongest in universe 7, so it isn’t too unreasonable to think that some other universes fall below or just above that level instead of being elevated to a level that was prophesied to be a worthy opponent for Beerus.
Ya know, I like that the manga only had Hit at SSJG level, and at that level he could only hold his power for a very short time, Merged Zamasu in Toriyamas outline wasn’t stronger than two SSJBs, and in the Toppo vs Goku (manga) fight we are actually shown the giant gap between the regular SSJ forms compared to the God forms.
These occurrences help to show that SSJG is a ridiculous level, that only the best of the best can touch.

Ribrianne is the ace of universe 2 and she's weaker than a18 who really hasn't trained ever and is probably at or slightly above the level she was in android arc
nigrisshi is the strongest modified warrior of u3 and base cabba kicks him away like its nothing

in a tournament for survival, its crazy to me that some universes have noone who is even kid buu level

It shouldn’t matter how strong these guys are. Ribrianne is as strong or probably a little stronger than No. 18 but stuck around the last 15 minutes of the tournament. If Ribrianne was “fodder”, she would have been out early on. It was not bad that only 3 of the 8 universes are better than the others. In the NBA, you have teams better than others. You can have one team dominate all of the other teams. Again, power is not everything int his tournament. Muten-Roushi was able to beat Ganos but we know Ganos was stronger. The best universes are the 6th, 7th, and 11th Universes (in terms of power) and it’s not bad and not a problem.

The Representatives of the 10th Universe did show something. If someone in the 10th Universe was stronger than Zamasu, it would have been a plot hole since Zamasu would have known and Gokuh would not have been the trigger for Zamasu’s rage. Gokuh being stronger than Zamasu is the reason he went rouge.

Who says that each universe HAS to have a "SSG level fighter"?
Z-Fighters fan.

Goku, Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, Chiaotzu, Yajirobe, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Android 18, Goten, Trunks and Majin Buu.

Hit is not God level. He’s stronger than that and Gokuh even says this. Hit was able to dodge Gokuh’s Kamehameha even though he said he couldn’t do anything after using his full power

Has anyone stopped to think maybe U7 is like some war stricken backwoods type universe that goes through more than most?

I'm not saying they are the only ones with villains but it would make sense that not every universe has villains like Freeza/Cell/Buu to push them to their limits.

It doesn't have to be a general rule of thumb that every universe have some phenomenal powerhouse with powers that transcend worldly comprehension. But if you feel that's necessary then you can always factor in the events of RoF and the Copy Vegeta arcs. Somehow the levels displayed in those arcs by Goku and Vegeta aren't a deterrent for their opponents who seem to be usually capable of at least putting up a fight against them in base.

You could just as well ask why Goku and Vegeta are allowed to possess more transformations than any other species in the multiverse. The crux of their superiority lies in that random collection of colourful spiky barbs. Take those away and you're looking at a Jiren esque situation with the Trio de Dangers.

Take a step back and think about why there’s a survival tournament in the first place.

This is a battle between the WEAKEST UNIVERSES. Majority of their fighters are going to be weak.

People complaining about how overpowered U7 are completely forgetting that majority of this team should be dead. The only reason Goku and everyone were able to get this strong were because Trunks came to the past.

So if it wasn’t for him, U7 fighters would be fairly weak and would accurately reflect why they’re the 2nd lowest universe. The strongest fighters would be frieza Cell and potentially Buu in this tournament. Assuming Buu didn’t kill Frieza and Cell.
How i predict the tournament will end:

Depends on your definition of fodder as someone above mentioned
Rof had Freeza stomping piccolo and ssj Gohan who was around cell games level in base form and goku in base swatted a beam which made swiss cheese outta of ssj Gohan with ease and tango with final form Freeza
Then you have Base goku and vegeta>ssj3 gotenks
So you have most competitors around at least buu saga high tiers at the very least

mortal level doesn''t have to do with power . otherwise u7 wouldn't be so low

Yes mortal level DOES have something to do with strength.

Do you honestly think 10 strong fighters out of the billions/trillions of beings in the universe would effect the mortal level that much? Mathematically that makes no sense. If you put all the tournament fighters at a 10 and the average human on earth at a 1 or 2, your average is going to be incredibly low. Despite having multiple 10s in there.

It also proves Universe 7 doesn't have any new strong fighters after Goku. When we thought Monaka was the strongest fighter it turned out to be a gag, and Beerus didn't know of any other strong fighters in U7 outside the people on Earth.

With Buu sealed away, the Earthlings and Freeza really were the only strong beings in the universe. Besides Dabura I suppose.

I wouldn’t say he’s stronger than SSJG, he only thought he could use time skip once at that level. Also Hit looked pretty hyped that he thought he managed to stop SSJG in his time skip, so he wasn’t totally sure that he would be able to, his thoughts once he stops Goku indicate this. We know Hits time skip works on opponents near, or below his level as stated by Whis, so him being able to stop SSJG doesn’t mean he’s stronger than him either.

Goku only confirmed that Hits much stronger because of techniques he couldn’t use. The conversation to do with him being more powerful went as follows.
Goku: Aren’t there some killing techniques that you couldn’t use because of the rules?
Hit: .... What if there are?
Goku: That means you’re much stronger than I’ve seen so far.

We know when it comes to raw power Hit is around SSJG level but far enough below Blue that time skip didn’t work on Goku at all.

People who want a tense and entertaining tournament that's more than just a squash match say that. Duh. Besides, other universes where we have no idea what kind of shit everyone there has gone through is the perfect opportunity to introduce characters that can actually pose a challenge, but that was squandered.

Strong opponents should be saved for the characters that the production team likes and want to show off. Naturally that can only be a few characters so as to maintain a half-way decent pace and number of new characters worthy of being shown off. Of course, this arc is already more than twice as long as it should be thanks to the production committee, so that just weakens the arc even more.
