Manga Entertainment UK DVD question

Post by SHINOBI-03 » Thu Nov 30, 2017 7:05 am

So I was shopping one night and found some anime DVD and Bluray on sale, but I also found these Dragon Ball Z DVDs that I have no idea what they are besides being published by Manga Entertainment UK:

Are these the same as FUNimation's remastered 16:9 releases or something different?

They are single versions of MangaUK's orange bricks.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

From what I remember on a old Manga UK podcast episode Jerome Mazandarani said that they created this release for mainstream stores which would normally not stock Manga UK titles. I remember him saying he had a deal in place with retailer Sainsburys to stock these discs because of the performance of a prior title. but ultimately that deal fell through late into the partnership after the inventory was produced, so they decided to sell these discs alongside the seasons sets as a lower point of entry.
