So you disregard things that dont help your point? Okay then let's disregard all the posts that praises those episodes because clearly some of the posters only like the characters because they're female, which is also sexist.
Or maybe we could not generalize based on what we see altogether?

And are you saying their views aren't valid because they disagree with you? And why does their age matter? Hell, Teenagers and Kids are what Super is directed to, not to us!
Way to miss my point. I said a lot of the Youtube comments on Cali and Kale are sexist or have an undertone of sexism. Which they do, no point of trying to be PR about it. At the same time, I never said that all criticism about them were sexist. Only that the vast majority of Youtube comments are, which doesn't represent much since Youtube's comment section is a cesspool of racism, sexism, and just plain ignorance to the point that people get butt hurt if you dared to give them facts on a subject. And when I was talking about Youtube, I wasn't talking about the comment section. I was talking about the video themselves and the Dragon Ball Youtube community. Yeah, I don't agree with them about a lot of stuff, but they general praised the 'Saiyan Showdown', which was my primary point.
I am not generalizing anything. I said a lot of people saw the 'Saiyan Showdown' as the highlight as the tournament when a poster here said six episodes were too much for the U6 Saiyans. They shot back that it was 'my' highlight to disregard my statement. So, I pointed out that Reddit and Youtube also have people that called it the highlight. You then tried to dismissed this by saying people on Reddit praised anything from Super and brought up Youtube comments. Granted, the Youtube part was my fault for not being more specific about what I meant, but still, my point was that the U6 Saiyans getting too much scene time is subjective. A lot of people like it, a lot of people didn't like it, but the idea that the 'Saiyan Showdown' was a highlight just isn't my opinion on the matter. Heck, on Reset/Discord Neogaf, people in general like the Kale, Cali, and Kelfa, but they're problem was that they wanted to fight someone other than Goku.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
The Goku vs Caulifla/Kale episodes were very well received as far as I can tell. Casuals rated it extremely high, even on apps like Tv show time, which are a good indication when it comes to the average viewer. Well, you don't need to pay much attention to realize that the final episode and the Yuya Takahashi's one, in particular, were hits.
Yeah, it could've been mentioned later, same for the S-Cells, but...was there an opportunity without making it feel forced? When? What known character in the main cast would be a Saiyajin expert to discuss that? And why didn't he tell it sooner? Maybe if we get a Sadala arc that will be touched upon, that's the best shot we have AND it could make sense.
If the Yamoshi backstory came out in the middle of BoG, I believe the plot of the movie could have taken an unnecessary detour. I mean, there were 20 years since the last DB movie, I think they didn't want to take away the focus from Goku. That and, well, Toriyama probably didn't have all of it on his mind back then. At least in Super's BoG the Namekian Book of legends was included, and we know now that was definitely a Toriyama input.precita wrote:I don't know why they reveal all this stuff in interviews but never put it in the actual series. Many people never read interviews or these behind the scenes type stuff, and since it's never put in the actual episodes a whole bunch of people never know this stuff and get misinformed, etc.
I have no idea why they keep doing stuff like this.

Gotta agree that he is charming and I have found him pretty funny overall. While I like both characters and they both made me laugh, he has been used a lot better than Ribrianne was. Granted we haven't seen the end of him just yet so will see how he pans out in the end.Big Chief wrote:I feel like there is some sort of charm to Katopesla that Ribrianne didn't have and that is why people like him better. Well recently for the police man character A decent amount fans seem to like he’s punching Vegeta, so for some that gained him some funny points.Big Chief wrote:I feel like there is some sort of charm to Katopesla that Ribrianne didn't have and that is why people like him better. As I have always said about Ribrianne she gets more love by what I have seen around the internet then gets noticed cause they are not as vocal as the dislikers. But the dislikers aren’t as big as they seem to be.
Ribrianne gets more love and respect then many might think and I try to make sure to make this known.

You've noticed the influx of posts acting like they're the only ones who like Super just to whore in the upvotes too haven't you? Hell I'll go post a respectul post that details my problems with the arc, and I guarantee you it'll only get 50% upvoted and wont reach the front page.
I didn't misread what you said. You just said you didn't consider those people's views into account because you felt they were sexist. But this is hard for us to discuss without having the comments on hand, but if you're reffering to comments calling the tingle sayains "thots" or "bitches", I see no difference between those comments and people who call characters like Yamcha,Krillin, or Vegeta "bitch" or other insults.
Just like there are people who thought the six episodes were the highlight, there are people who agree with us too you know? It's not like me, Namekian, and the "sexists" are the only ones who think 6 episodes is too much.

HeroR and Yomi are the most annoying caulifla/kale defenders on here. jesus christ say one bad thing about them and they will jump down your throat.
"OMG you called caulifla a bitch and want her to get beaten up, REEEEEEEEE!" and these same two people will be all " vegeta is a bitch, gohan is a bitch".
its a fighting show, people get called everything under the sun. Stop going around getting on people for it. i bet both of them thought toriyama was a huge sexist prick for the videl spopovich scene despite all kinds of male fighters having that done to them before.

Most of the 'I'm I the only one who like Super', happened because there is a lot of criticism of Super on the web. Even then, I have seen a lot of self posts upvoted for criticizing Super's writer, characters wasted, Goku's characterization, and so on. Yes, Reddit is largely positive towards Super, although that really wasn't the case early in Super's life. It was quite popular to bash everything about Super, except the Super manga, until around the time of the Future Trunks Saga. But I will admit, I don't look at the % of thread votes. I tend to put more stakes in individual comments.
That isn't what I said. I said I don't take 'Youtube' comments into account because they're mostly sexist and I shouldn't have to described what the common Youtube comment looks like. I also made it clear that not all criticisms of the female Saiyans were sexists, just that we have to acknowledge that some or even a lot (going by Youtube for 'a lot') are. The same hold true for Rib too while we're on the subject.
I never said that they weren't. The post who I originally responded to claimed that the 'Saiyan Showdown' was a highlight for 'me', suggesting that I was the only one who held this view, or that only a small group agreed.
Now you're just putting words in my mouth.

No, I don't really need to try since most of the 'best' comments are near the top. But if you think I'm trying to ' fuel my victim mentality', that's fine. Vegeta is called a prick /asshole and the fandom mostly loved him for those traits. In fact, he was called boring when he showed his softer and nicer side on this arc. And I don't like Yamcha or Krillin being shitted on either, so what is your point? The biggest different is that Krillin and Yamcha are not talked about often and when they are, most of it is tongue-and-cheek. Even then, it's annoying when I see Krillin called a cowardly bitch.
That's one way to twist what I said, especially since I never called anyone racist for not liking Cali and Kale, but whatever.BlueVegerot wrote:

And Dragon Ball is a children TV show for boys, not a 'violent' show in the way you're thinking. If you have a problem with my words and my views well, tough.

Best comments doesn't mean they are the only ones. If i see on the news every day that members of a certain race commmited a crime and i said " x group is a bunch of thugs" would that be fair or a stereotype? Also if you accept that krillin, yamcha, vegeta , get shitted on why can't you handle it with caulifla or kale? Sure if someone says " that bitch should get raped " thats one thing but every character gets called a " bitch, pussy, cuck, etc". Also yamcha gets 0 screentime and krillin hasn't either so of course they don't get talked about, go back to db or z and they got the brunt of it
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Because I defend Krillin too when he was called a bitch, like he was called earlier in this arc, especially by Tien fans who called him a cowardly pussy and rubbed in how Krillin choked when fighting the androids while Tien 'bravely' charged in. The same with Yamcha to an extent, so it isn't just Cali and Kale for me.BlueVegerot wrote:

I don't have to go back to Dragon Ball or Z. I just have to read Dragon Ball Z Abridge comments, which are also a cesspool. What I was saying that I haven't defend Krillin or Yamaha lately because they haven't really been brought up here.
Also, for the record, I actually do read the entire line of Youtube comments, because I'm just like that. When I say 'best' comments, I mean it's easy to find the sexist and racist stuff without even going far down the page.
But is off-topic now. If you have a personally beef with me, then we can take it to PM.

There is something a little grating about disproportionate hate directed at a character that essentially did nothing to deserve it. Though I think that has more to do with the way some people choose to express that hate rather than actually disliking those characters.

what reason should there be for a character to be hated? Whats the criteria? If i say goku is a bitch, thats grating ? Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm not policing, people should be allowed to like/dislike a character for whatever reason they want; it was more of a commentary directed at a type of attitude you see in so many fandoms. Here's another perspective though: while non of these characters are real, their fans are. Someone will inevitably react to seeing something negative about their favorite character, and this is when it gets nasty. I'm all for fun debates, or even more serious debates, but I've seen more than a few of those turn ugly.BlueVegerot wrote:what reason should there be for a character to be hated? Whats the criteria? Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I find the talk of other communities pretty moot when honestly, I don't find this one all that much better. Yes it's more educated I guess on the Dragon Ball subject, but man it's pretty much just as toxic. I mean I see less fights and silly discussions on SSMB than I do here, and that's a Sonic Forum...let that sink in.
But we're approaching the next episode. Glad to hear Universe 6 is gone. I really hope the Super Dragon Balls either can't fix those erased, or Zeno forbids it. I personally would think it would be a lame ending if the universes were all brought back and nothing of real consequence lasts. Though perhaps I guess any sort of way some characters could stay is if they lose their universe but have to join like one of the 5 remaining ones. So at least the objective of wiping out all those universes still stands.

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
