I disagree. goten was a year younger and didn't know how to fly and trunks was only slightly stronger not to mention we saw trunks in the gravity chamber with vegeta, not saying he was always in there but he had that whereas the extent of gotens training was with chichi who can't really physically push him.
Trunks was only training that hard for the tournament, that wasn't his regular training. He also didn't really train with Vegeta, so Goten and Trunks pushed each other.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

It's not written by him though. Also, I don't remember him getting picked on after 106, which also wasn't great for both those characters from the point of view of most fans.
BlueVegerot wrote: he's not writing 118 but u6 being erased is gonna make a lot of people angry and he's the only writer with a public twitter so idiots will take it out on him
Didn't think U6 has that many fans. Unless we are talking about Hit fans, but that also seems to be a breed I hear more about then actually cross paths with.

There will be raging if Gohan steal the wins from Piccolo against the first ever Namekians we have seen from Universe 6.

Noah wrote:Even if it was Grand Priest idea when he actually said otherwise, the general idea of this whole tournament was to get rid of low mortal level universes, something that Zen-Oh himself would do it anyway without any competition to decide.
Goku gave the chance to these universes to fight for their survival. You could also say the Grand Priest is pulling the strings and not Zen-Oh, but even so... Would he allow a wish to put everything back to square one? I don't think so.
The Grand Priest asked the Zenos if they wanted to get rid of some universes when they complained that there were too many for their game. There's no conspiracy or string pulling, that's just what happened and they talked about what to do next. I was talking about the manga version of that scene.

And the argument that Super keeps trying to push that 'Goku gave the other universes a chance for survival' is a complete load of bullshit that I will not swallow simply for the fact that Universe 7 being involved in this competition means that the other Universes have ZERO chance of survival short of Universe 7 taking mercy on them or convincing Zeno to change his mind. If Universe 7 disappears the story stops, and we already know they won't thanks to the ending of Z, so the only option for everyone else is death.

It's even more screwed up in the manga where they show that the second Zeno was part of the reason behind that decision...and he is only there because Goku went back to the future and picked him up. Oops.

That argument is flawed and weird since you're using an out of universe argument, 'U7 is the main universe, so they killed these other universe because they have to win', to say that an in-universe statement is false or BS. Like the other universes are supposed to know that U7 isn't allowed to lose for story reasons and the narration should reflect that since they know they're in a TV series.

Especially a writer who didn't even write the episode or have no control over who gets eliminated and how it happened which is left to the director of the series.

Obviously no one should do that.

My comment was only partly towards your comment and I just wrote it because I just was thinking how shit it would be if Gohan takes everything and the preview for episode 119 hints at Piccolo losing.

I think that Gohan is going to hesitate and Piccolo will finish off Universe 6 somehow.

That is not fact at all. I think Saonel and Pirina will probably go out at the same time.

I'm arguing against the idea itself from a meta standpoint. The writers didn't need to have Goku involved in the implementation of the tournament at all since they had set the tournament up as Zeno's idea in a previous arc. But instead he is they try to spin it as a heroic action when it's clear as a viewer that this serves nobody but the heroes. The issue didn't need to come up at all but for some reason it did and they try to make Goku look like a good guy for it. That's why it's BS.

I mean if it does hint. That along with Gohan taking the majority of the glory would send people like me mad.

Question: if it all hinges on Piccolo's plan, but Gohan is the one that executes it (deals the final blow), would that upset you?

That meta argument can be made about anything. Like I can say that Vegeta did nothing wrong in the Android/Cell Saga since the good guys would win regardless, so the show was BS for treating Vegeta as an abusive asshole.

And Goku isn’t even seen as the good guy in-universe. Despite Goku technically saving an universe, Beerus still blames him for damning U7 and the other gods don’t like him. Goku looks like a guy whose reckless actions had good results, just like in Dragon Ball and Z.

Yes. Piccolo is a fighter and not just a thinker. He deserves at least one decent finishing move that will mean something and remembered especially with what everyone else has got.

Piccolo needs a moment that is remembered as his moment. Episode 117 had 17 and 18 but was obviously 18's moment.

The planet where Saiyajin were born.

How is Planet Vegeeta like?

We'll disclose the secrets of the planet Goku and Vegeeta were born in.

Several thousand Saiyajin lived there!
A mysterious planet where primitive houses and flying spacecrafts co-existed side by side. It seems their population wouldn't increase since many fell in battle.

Children would grow up in an incubator until they were 3 years old!
There were also children that would be turned into combatants as soon as they left the incubator!

It's U7 twin Universe that was introduced almost 2 years ago and Caulifla/Kale are popular new characters too. Of course it has a fanbase.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

I mostly meant ardent fans. You know, the kind that would actually get angry enough to complain to the writers.

Btw, have the preview pics been released. I thought we get 4 shots from the upcoming episode the day before.

I think this the first time with no preview images for the tournament.

There are big fans of certain characters in Universe 6 who will probably also hate the other members of Universe 6 so it balances itself out.
