That's not how it works. You have to select your favorite DVD out of each category.

EDIT: This retard (ME) didn't notice they were both under Foreign DVD's. Sorry.

To be fair, even though Geneon discs are pretty good, they do have quite a few titles that never made it to TV, and even if they did, they still got released at $30 a pop volumes over 7 discs which as far as the norm (in this case, TVshowsondvd.com folk) would still consider outdated and a giant scam.

Hellsing Ultimate also isn't a TV show, but still a fucking excellent release, but I can see why it wouldnt go on there.

Overall, this just screams bullshit, but this has done since day one. I'd say it'd be almost dissapointing if one day, the property got sorted out, but it won't, so I cant, and uhh...

...that's that.

Entirely possible. Still, I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and get a well done release then have bootleg quality material for cheap. Besides, how quickly they forget FUNimation's "LAWL 3 EPISODES FOR 24.95 PLZ...NO WAIT, REBUY...NO WAIT, REBUY AGAIN KTHX"-tactic ;p

True, I didn't even think of that. Still, there's plenty of other releases I can think of that blow the DBZ season sets away (unless you're just going to take cost into consideration, in which case I'm sure there's some excellent bootlegs that have come out in the past year ;p). I still find it suspicious, however, that only FUNi titles are there...

Amen. It's like hoping for Marvel to stop making stupid retcons like Gwen Stacy having Norman Osborn's children: it ain't gonna happen.

You know, i was just thinking about it, and the DBZ set may well be kind of great outside the realm of hardcore fandom.

We all hate the remastering process, but to the general public that is pretty much just fanboy angst. Whether we approve of the aspect ratio, you can't deny the sheer volume and bang for your buck of the set. Honestly, I looked at a heavily circulating bootleg set, and FUNimation's set has *more* episodes (those sets would have ep counts in the mid-20's per volume), have excellent subtitles, dual language, the original BGM option newly added for the dub... so basically if you aren't one of us, you won't really care about the rest. Aside from that one annoying thing, it is a good deal.

I'm personally big enough to admit that when I watch Vegeta Final Flash Rikum and throw a fit because the "widescreen" cuts off too much of Vegeta's leg, it is probably because I'm mildly obsessed and have seen the scene probably more times than I have any right to :p
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I don't know about that. Anyone with common sense can tell this series is too old to have been originally animated in widescreen, and anyone with a good eye can see all the film damage (also an indication of age) and further errors caused by DVNR.

Chris Beveridge of Anime On DVD, for instance, pretty much hates Dragon Ball, but he did complain a bit when it was announced the season sets would be in widescreen, and actually flat out refuses to review them because of that. Which is a step backward, since the site had just been getting more lenient towards the series.
