Yeah, I have to agree with the earlier sentiments about Gohan not looking all appealing in his debut trailer. He just seem a bit too... ordinary.

I'm sure Gohan'll be fine in the main game. These trailers are just little hype spots, it'll be a while before the lab boys can properly get into the character and take him apart.

This all goes back to the fact that there's only so much you can do to make Dragon Ball fighters distinct, especially the main ones. Goku, Vegeta and Gohan are very 'default' characters, and Adult Gohan doesn't have the advantage the other two have of being announced on launch. No really iconic special moves either.

Maybe U.Gohan can be the "Order-Sol" of the game, based on that potential meter. As for the character in the game, I agree with most people here that moveset wise(so far) he's a let down, but I do like the animations.

thats what I've been saying for a bit and I totally see the mechanic being used. It could be fun

Not particularly invested in him but that would be ace. He would definatly stand out that way.

Yeah, that was pretty good. Weirdly enough, the portrait is the biggest giveaway. Doesn't match the style of the others at all.

Funny thing is, if Caulifla does end up being playable, I imagine she'd play very similar to Teen Gohan. Small, melee-orientated, lot of power.

That is really weĺl done.

Anyway, I'm excited for U. Gohan. Yeah, he was never going to be as visually exciting as Boo or Gotenks, but his animations look really cool (in a stoic/tough kind of way) and as long as he is effective I'll be happy.

I also do like the idea of him being a melee-only character if they went with that.

So what notable Z characters might we still get?

1. Vegetto
2. Dabura w/Babidi
3. Radditz
4. Videl or Mr. Satan or Roshi


Roshi can use ki blasts so he might be more likely than Videl or Mr. Satan who can't.

These trailers should have been released in the reverse order. Gohan then Buu then Gotenks. That Gohan would be the most boring one was predictable.

I'd rather not. Fighting games should be about skill and reflexes. Party game-esc status affecting, chance related etc moves would just bring it down.

... And how is this skill different than 16's one-shot Super Attack? Except, you know, more interesting. It would still take skill to land it, time it well during the fight, would be balanced with other stuff.

Not to mention if this is a "party game-esque" move, then the game already has that, with the Dragon Balls mechanic.

If it just seals the opponent and maybe lowers his HP a bit, it would be still a lot lighter move then the Body Change or the #16 Bomb... Well, in case that sealing bottle ramains at the stage, and the team mates can free the sealed fighter.

Just wait until they add Beerus with super moves like instant kill Hakai, and Whis assisted Time Rewind. :mrgreen:

Higher res scan from last month's V-Jump, Beerus, Hit and Black actually were in the issue.

No it hasn't. Are we forgetting everything he already got wrong? He was the one who made up the "Saiyan Pass" rumour for FighterZ just to give an example.

Let's not get side-tracked for predicting that Soul Calibur would get announced in one the next big gaming events, with it's anniversary right around the corner. I remember someone here guessing how Ginyu would work, doesn't mean that person had any information. Like I said before, if you shoot in all directions you're bound to hit sometimes, even easier when your aim has a purpose and knowledge behind it.

Oh God yes, it's really Black!! I was sure one was Beerus and the other looked more like Hit than Ginyu, but there was too much pink in Black's dot to think it was him. This settles it.
DBS fans will have their most asked characters. At least, the ones in the realm of possibility.

Now I only hope Android 21 doesn't count as the 24th character, but she's the secret 25th and the 24th is someone from the show.
