Judging by the summaries does the prediction of 17 and 18 being "mind controlled" by the leader scientist of U3 hold true? Might be interesting.

The only consolation they can give Piccolo is defeating all 3 remaining Universe 4 fighters.
I know there is a big Piccolo fan there but it is not me. These summaries have destroyed Piccolo fans. It's kind of ironic. People thought Krillin lost too early or was treated poorly, but looking back Krillin was handled pretty well even if he didn't last long.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
The Future Trunks Saga had a smaller cast and a story that could be told without a lot of fighting. Which is how you could have Bulma and Future Mai, both non-fighters, be part of the main cast and still feel important. When you have a roster this big, characters will be left behind. Even One Piece, which uses character better than any Dragon Ball series, fall into this after the cast reached a certain size.Lionel wrote:I'm very disappointed about the turn of events as well -- not just with Piccolo's untimely demise but also the oversaturation of some while neglecting so many of the characters around them. You have a treasure trove of potential development value and it's squandered for the most part to accommodate a select few faces. Sad to say but Goku in particular is one character whom, despite being the protagonist, I'm growing tired of seeing every episode.
Personally, I'm not about to give up the show but this arc has really been a collection of missed opportunities. Somehow the Future Trunks arc appears to have a better quality to itself, in retrospect.

I can understand that, but I also warned about expecting too much from Piccolo after what happened in Episode 34. Than and everything with Piccolo had him tied to Gohan's joint, which honestly annoyed me.namekiansaiyan wrote:He is probably going to fall out of the arena because of not knowing where he is on the arena due to the illusions.TheDipDap1234 wrote:I just hope Piccolo will take out Shantsa before he goes down.

But maybe Piccolo will get a good ring out similar to Roshi. We shouldn't take the spoilers at face value since the last spoiler made it seemed the last of U2 went out like punks.
I will say that you're taking it much better than the other person I mentioned since they now hate 18 for no other reason that she outlasted Piccolo.

I have been saying that for months. Krillin was used very well. He just had very short scene time.precita wrote:It's kind of ironic. People thought Krillin lost too early or was treated poorly, but looking back Krillin was handled pretty well even if he didn't last long.

That's good to hear, I myself hadn't expected things to go as well as they did, but as I said, my expectations were rock bottom.
Him going down isn't that painful so much as the "accidentally" part. That is what has me on edge.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I ask again, did Piccolo throw a single punch in the tournament?
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Wait, why does that matter? He traded blows with Pirina and Saonel, if that counts.precita wrote:I ask again, did Piccolo throw a single punch in the tournament?

I feel like all Piccolo did was that hellzone grenade and stand still charging a beam.

Nobody here is depressed( outside of namekiansaiyan),most are just simply expressing their displeasure of Piccolo's treatment, you are just magnifying it.Totamo wrote: Its pretty fun that everywhere else is like " Eh sucks for Piccolo, but oh well, he did better than I thought ." and are laughing at Vegeta possibly "jobbing"

But you seem for some reason really annnoyed that people are complaining about the bad treatment of a character.
Now you are just patronizing him,you know he won't,he will have most of his screentime taken by Goku and Gohan most likely just like last episode.HeroR wrote:

No, the skirmish with the namekians had in hand to hand combat until it came to charging the beam.precita wrote:I feel like all Piccolo did was that hellzone grenade and stand still charging a beam.

We wouldn't be so 'depressed' if he got the attention 18 and Roshi received. No one expected these 2 to have more attention than Piccolo and all Piccolo got was basically 2 Ki attacks in 23 episodes of the tournament. .Totamo wrote:Its pretty fun that everywhere else is like " Eh sucks for Piccolo, but oh well, he did better than I thought ." and are laughing at Vegeta possibly "jobbing"HeroR wrote:You sound like someone I know on Gaf Discord.namekiansaiyan wrote:I am done. There was 70 potential opponents. How can Toriyama give so little to Piccolo and Tien and so much to Roshi and 18.HeroR wrote:The Future Trunks Saga had a smaller cast and a story that could be told without a lot of fighting. All I know is that Piccolo will be back while Roshi, 17, 18, Gohan and Frieza will be retired again even though it will be to have him messed around again like in every arc so far in Super.
If Roshi can come back along with 18 then anything can happen. 18 is attached to 17 so she should be getting the same treatment.HeroR wrote:

This arc proved my point and that is you have to be a retuning or new character to get something.
I just will never understand why Piccolo gets the treatment he does.
I think precita means a punch that lands and causes some damage.Michsi wrote:No, the skirmish with the namekians had in hand to hand combat until it came to charging the beam.precita wrote:I feel like all Piccolo did was that hellzone grenade and stand still charging a beam.

The reaction to this is depressingly predictable. For the past month or so, the biggest complaint with the tournament was that Universe 7 was doing too well and winning every fight. Now, that infuriating streak is coming to an end and everybody's in an uproar. Guys, if you want the arc to start being tense again, at some point the fanservice band-aid is going to have to come off.
Yes, the wording of that TRANSLATED SCAN sounds bad for Piccolo, but those things have never been the most reliable indicator of what will actually happen. Remember Krillin getting disqualified? The magical girls fusing? Freeza getting mad at Goku for kill-stealing the U2 guys? Maybe Piccolo isn't going to go out in a blaze of glory like Roshi or to a lesser extent Tien. To be honest, I'm fine with that. Giving everyone a dignified, heroic send-off only furthers the issue of U7 being too powerful and devalues the impact of the ones that have already had that treatment. Piccolo really shined last episode and realistically there isn't anywhere left for him to go from here. He can afford to go out next episode, and however it happens, I'm sure it'll be a better than fucking slipping on a banana peel.
As for Vegeta? Eh, he's been poorly handled this entire arc. Two good eps (107 and 112) outweighed by a lot of bad. This fight against Jiren (which should look stunning at the very least) is his last chance to prove himself as something other than an unfortunate joke, but after that I'm happy for him to drop out and let Gohan and Freeza step up as second-protagonists. Vegeta has been second-landing man for most of Super, it would be okay for him to not make it to the end for once and Gohan and Freeza are both far more interesting at this point.
I'm honestly more upset about Katopesla going out. I wanted my cockroach boy to last until the end. At least it looks like it'll be to a Universe 4 character. We need more eliminations from other Universes, especially now 6 is gone.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Piccolo had so much potential for good fights. Why have Goku and Vegeta hog all the wins when Piccolo could have taken out so many characters?
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I can't believe Universe 3 lasted so long. I really thought they were gonna be that scrub universe that would all go out following Universe 9 but nope they got all the way up to third.
I'm not surprised by people being taken out. It was always going to be between him and Android 18. Both of those recently had their big wins, I didn't think Piccolo was gonna have a bigger moment than the last episode.
People are complaining (what a surprise) about how he loses. Seems fine to me, a lot of these could have gone out weeks back. I'm just glad that someone from another Universe got somebody out.
Vegeta might beat the Universe 3 fusion robot which could be his big win before being taken out by Jiren in Episode 122.
I wanted it to come down to Goku and Frieza vs Jiren, that's still on track.

If that is what Piccolo fans consider shine then so be it, but frankly, he seemed to me as an old frail man..Kataphrut wrote:Piccolo really shined last episode.
Falling down with an opened mouth and regretting what he had said to Gohan in the past, needing help getting up and facing the enemy, he seemed weak and frail who can still use his ultimate attack of younger days but needs protection nowadays until he can prepare it..
That is not how I wanted to see Piccolo and I don't even care that much about him..
