No sadly you can't.

All you can do is waiting for an opportunity to win/lose a beam struggle (either way if you want damaged clothing yourself or for the opponent).
Therefore you can equip Kaio's Training and blast the bonus-lifebars away to damage clothes.
Then fight normally from that point on.

I still don't really get, why they didn't make this an option...
I mean, the cloth-textures ARE in-game and they just had to make one option to have them from the start. Now that these clothes don't have anything to do with your lifebars (in BT2 the lifebar had to be the red or first yellow at least I think) it would have been even easier.
But anyway... I guess there just wasn't any fight in the Dragon Ball series which started with characters besides Goku having damaged clothes :P

What I don't really get: Why did they give first Namek Vegeta a scouter?
Alright, he had one, but he crushed it very soon anyway.
Nappa and King Vegeta don't have scouters as well, so why does Vegeta have to have one in BOTH costumes?
He never really used it much since he appeared in DB anyway :/
Perhaps an option scouter yes/no would have been nice - considering that now the z-search and it's "specialities" are pretty much gone anyway.

Actually, if you use Taioken, then the oponent looses the Z-Search, isn't it? Thus if you hide, all those "specialities" come in order again, at least I think it is like this...

Probably because he never did anything in it.

Yeah, I saw in a video. Now Tayoken does something instead of letting your character open for attack.
I don't know the Z-Search thing very well, but whit Tayoken, the opponent loses his movements and directions for a time (and its seems that is almost impossible now of escaping it).
So you could say that Z-Search is still there, just MUCH more simple.

Does anyone think that a Namek version of Vegeta should have been put in the game? Its not like he had a shortage of moves, and it would eliminate the possibility of him going great Ape.

Settle down, I wasn't making a value judgment. It's just a very minor costume.

Heh, I just noticed that Atari's DBZ website uses Son Goku, Son Gohan, and Son Goten on the top of the page for "themes" instead of just Goku, Gohan, and Goten. By the way, was it ever revealed if the US release would use the Japanese music or not?

The Vegeta (Scouter) we have already his Namek Saga Vegeta, he just has a Ozaru transformation has well :P
What you should be asking for is a Saiyan Saga Vegeta with a Full Powered Galick Gun and a Rush that ends in the way he kills Nappa.

If they do ever make Desert Bandit Yamcha, they should find a way to work Pu'ar into one of his moves.

Didn't Gohan wear a cape in the 2nd DBZ movie? I know it wasn't Piccolo-style but it would still be a cool costume.

Not to be harsh or anything, or be disrespectful to anyone, but I think that with a huge majority of “This I Would Like in this Fighting Game” that people seem to forget that this is a fighting game and a lot of "requests" seem to only be appropriate for the story mode and for maybe one fight, if that.

I don't know, it just seems like we (me included) seem to forget that for the most part, the story mode should only be a small part of the game. I guess if we thought that the fighting engine would be better we'd be talking about that.

Plus, if they were really paying attention these wardrobe problems wouldn't even be an issue.

I dunno, I like a good story mode in a fighting game (look at the one they're whipping up for Smash Bros. Brawl, looks amazing and I bet would be worth the full price of the game by itself).

Everything indicates... no, we're not getting the music from the series. It will be Japanese music, since it's being created in Japan by a Japanese person, but it is not music from the series. (Same thing was done with BT2.)

Sure does look that way. It seems to me that Atari is always one step behind the needs/wants/desires of this section of Dragonball fandom... Still it's unqiue music and while some of the pieces are very nice it just doesen't replace nostalgia. Then again I was not introduced to the original music until later but now I love it.

C'est la vie!

One costume with the fox mask, one without.
