I'm curious if this is due in part to her lasting longer than Piccolo. Oh well not like it matters since it is likely she's gone in 121 unless she some how survives 121 and 17 gets knocked out instead.
Just as a point to those celebrating a few weeks back, mostly YouTuber posters, I Never Got WHY it was so important to some that Ribrianne had to go or why it was celebrated so much she needed to go?! Never made sense to me and now since the ToP's ending is so predictable now, it seemed all the more animated when Ribrianne was involved and leaving that ideal of the Unknown in this. She brought more variety and interested to the ToP then some may have wanted to realize, usually the characters that get you talking come with controversy at time, no matter how silly those controversies are.
As for 18 being more pushed to go, I get wanting to see the team get cut down to get story going and the view that it will be likely 18, but lets be honest too, why even have a debate on this anymore?! We know that he finalist, the so called Top are ALL to a Majority going to be U7 and U11, that is it and likely it will comedown to less then 4 fighters, 2 of them we know are Jiren and Goku.
We are just counting down the episodes until the predictable final of Jiren vs. whoever of U7, so 18 going now seems like an afterthought compared to what seems to be the predictable conclusion.
I definitely had no issues with Ribrianne, but I can't see how anyone thought the predictable ending of Jiren VS someone of U7 wasn't going to happen. Like I've legit seen people think/hope/expect a twist with it, but it never at all seemed likely as the one they were building up for the end was pretty clear. I also understand people not wanting a predictable ending, but I don't see what made it likely. DB doesn't usually pull a swerve on the main adversary to the heroes. Due to that, Ribrianne was never an unknown to me.
As for 18, she is getting some hate. Some of the people I've talked to are disliking her because she outlasted and outperformed Piccolo. But I'm not sure if that's the major reason of course. Overall, I don't care if she gets eliminated next or outlasts even three more members. 18's a very boring character to me in general, so it doesn't really matter to me.

I saw it coming as well, but to a degree, I was hoping for more variety in the final 10 or so. More of a battle where we had variety with one or two of finalist coming out as surprises to be more of challenge then fans thought. It would have put the definition of a Battle Royal to good honor. Still Jiren and U7 as the main ones, but others to keep the drama and variety alive. I guess it was wanting more then maybe Toei had in mind, but it seemed toei was at 1st headed in that direction.

I mean I saw plenty of people over on Reddit, Twitter and here as well celebrating her being eliminated. It wasn't really important, mainly it was because many people didn't like Ribrianne and we're happy to see her get knocked out. I personally would have wanted her to last longer since I enjoyed her and I found it funny how heated people got whenever she showed up. I have a little hope that maybe the climax of the TOP won't be super predictable but it probably will end up ending with Jiren vs Goku.

Indeed and You have been a Great Fan of Ribrianne's, Thank you For that!
Just like always it is the Train dislike that I am focused on, I have not problem again if one does not like her character. I have always said and it is something that is a right for each and every fan to have. But for fans that celebrating and making a mocking of her going like it was something important to make Holy the ToP again, Then I say I am willing to Debate Each and Every Person out their about how wrong that ideal is and was, cause Brianne/Ribrianne deserves that kind of support just like any other character does, I would not expect anything less form any other fan of any other character.
I am proud of the way she and U2 went, Very Proud of 118, but I will make sure any Honor I can give to the character and their story that is needed to be given is given, saying why they where legit and why the celebrating of them being gone in a very mocking way by others was not right and while we respect each others views, why I wholeheartedly disagree.

It was probably celebrated by people who thought that Ribrianne's erasure was detrimental to their enjoyment of the show. Because they probably disliked her as a character (or as a design, or as something else). Surely your love for the character doesn't blind you to the fact that some people went to the opposite extreme that you went?
One man's treasure is another man's garbage. Simple as that.

No I never try to blind myself to the realities or let fandom ever do that to myself~~~I just question the logic behind it all.
I have seen massive detailed reasoning as to why fans dislike certain characters and good debates about them. However, what they had in comm mon was they always were in the context of the story/development in the end, it was with the characters immoral and questionable actions, their sins if you will.
So again it was never the dislike that got me, just to levels of it and how far and personal people took it over very very small and personal preference things about her character.
I learned long ago when dislike for any character or medium got to such levels, then that is when I would turn it off and remember to focus such emotions on real problems in life.
It is the levels of the reaction compared to what one is reacting too and with that measuring its worth.

I didn’t mind ribrianne that much,I was looking forward to her. But,then she along with U2 was converted into a complete joke character.
Now,I don’t have anything against gag characters but a character should be more than just a joke.Ribrianne took a lot of screen time and added nothing to the larger plot.If you ask me,a beautiful girl converted into a fat telebub was enough of a joke after that they should’ve went with a traditional magical girl.
They went for a precure deconstruction which is a lot like dbz,we never had a battlemage character and a slight more focus on hax instead of heart shaped like blast and transformations would at least result in better fights. They should also have toned down the love. They didn’t do any from above but at the end of the day,she is one of few characters with character development
Why power levels are important?
Spoiler:
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

Because her and Caulifla are the worst characters ever put on screen. For me they make up the trinity of sin when it comes to fictional characters. I can't think of a 3rd character off the top of my head but they easily get the 1st and 2nd spots.

If Vegeta does go out I think it's more likely for Gohan to fight Toppo as Goku doing so will drain him and he won't have enough power to fight Jerin. In terms of Vegeta's fight, there's nothing about him winning, losing or getting away but regardless of what happens I hope he puts in a good one as he hasn't done anything major yet.

I'm pretty vegeta will get a huge power up or gets UI in episode 123 don't know why this site is so basis against vegeta you guys do nothing but hate on him and jump to conclusion.
Totamo wrote:I don't think Gohan is going to fight Toppo for one simple reason: Toppo will crush him.
Goku getting to take out the 3 strongest fighters will be overkill. Him getting Kafla is bad enough as we already knew he;d get Jerin but Toppo too ? If that's what happens I really hope the manga does some drastic changes with this like it did with the previous arc.

Vegeta is getting nothing but kiero'd. Then Goku will come in after Prince of No One jobs.

You probably know I'm his #1 fan here but there's no denying how bad Toei has handled him so far. If we're talking about the manga then I have no doubts he'll get a very good showing from start to finish.

See you just proved my posted right do nothing but make vegeta hate topics and say oh vegeta went backwards in development yet ignoring the fact that goku worst same with other characters reddit is just as bad.
