How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?

Post by Bullza » Wed Dec 20, 2017 10:45 pm

At this point we're sort of within the final stages of the Tournament now, makes things a bit clearer on what to expect and what to hope for. This is what I want to see happen and what I also somewhat predict will happen.

- Aniraza knocks out Android 17 and Android 18.

- Gohan finds some power from within and uses it all up to defeat Aniraza. With no energy left he purposefully jumps out the ring.

- You're left with the 3v3 of Goku, Vegeta and Frieza against Jiren, Toppo and Dyspo.

- Frieza will fight Dyspo and will beat him with low/mid difficulty.

- Vegeta will fight Toppo and will just about win, due to Ultra Instinct? Maybe, but either way after the fight he's also energy drained so is defeated by Jiren.

- Goku and Frieza genuinely team up to fight Jiren.

- At some point Frieza will take a blow aimed at Goku which will send him out of the ring in place of saving Goku knowing only he can really beat Jiren.

- Goku will master his Ultra Instinct power and will beat Jiren.

- Some time later Goku will keep his promise and will restore Frieza to life who will then drop his grudge and will just go out into the universe and never to be seen again.

So that's what I am hoping for, mainly though just to Goku and Frieza team up to fight Jiren.

What do you guys want to see happen now that we're down to the last few parts because after Universe 3 is gone, it's just the last conflict really.

They wouldn't foreshadow Freeza wanting to rule over Zenos if they were to do something as basic as that.

Also remember one thing: Freeza always returns.

Unlikely. He might not even get one of them.
- Gohan finds some power from within and uses it all up to defeat Aniraza. With no energy left he purposefully jumps out the ring.
That would be disappointing
- You're left with the 3v3 of Goku, Vegeta and Frieza against Jiren, Toppo and Dyspo.
Okay
- Frieza will fight Dyspo and will beat him with low/mid difficulty.
Seems plausible
- Vegeta will fight Toppo and will just about win, due to Ultra Instinct? Maybe, but either way after the fight he's also energy drained so is defeated by Jiren.
I think Vegeta is going to try to take on Jiren first and get defeated. I also want Toppo to get an elimination.
- Goku and Frieza genuinely team up to fight Jiren.
I'd like to see this happen.
- At some point Frieza will take a blow aimed at Goku which will send him out of the ring in place of saving Goku knowing only he can really beat Jiren.
Doubt it
- Goku will master his Ultra Instinct power and will beat Jiren.
Too predictable IMO.
- Some time later Goku will keep his promise and will restore Frieza to life who will then drop his grudge and will just go out into the universe and never to be seen again.
Would be a waste.

- At some point, Gohan will probably give the rest of his energy to Goku, if he doesn't fight with them at the end. If he does, Jiren probably bodied Vegeta.
- Goku and Freeza battle Jiren together and win.
- Freeza rings out Goku and gets to be the one to get his wish granted
- But, if Gohan wins instead, he'll probably wish everyone back to Universe 7...and get denied

I would be OK with that outcome, though I would change Gohan jumping out of the ring. I would rather he stayed in but in a weakened state.
- Frieza will fight Dyspo and will beat him with low/mid difficulty.
I agree with this. I think some pleasant torturing afterwards is also in order. I think this would also be a good opportunity for Freeza to demonstrate how competent he is as a fighter by overcoming Dyspo's speed using strategy, like Hit and to a lesser extent Goku did.
- Vegeta will fight Toppo and will just about win, due to Ultra Instinct? Maybe, but either way after the fight he's also energy drained so is defeated by Jiren.
Vegeta doesn't need UI. I would rather he won against Toppo using his own determination, and after putting up a fight against Jiren, he is ultimately unable to continue fighting and Jiren mercifully eliminates him.
- Goku and Frieza genuinely team up to fight Jiren.
Goku and Freeza teaming up is a must and I would love to see that.
- At some point Frieza will take a blow aimed at Goku which will send him out of the ring in place of saving Goku knowing only he can really beat Jiren.

- Goku will master his Ultra Instinct power and will beat Jiren.
Freeza would never take a blow for Goku that would eliminate his chances of winning. The entire point of Freeza helping Goku, would be for him to defeat Jiren, so he can win and gain ultimate power. Also he hates Goku, he would never help him if it ruined his chances of winning. He would only help Goku in order to help himself. Thats why I see Freeza backstabbing Goku if he managed to beat Jiren.
- Some time later Goku will keep his promise and will restore Frieza to life who will then drop his grudge and will just go out into the universe and never to be seen again.
This would horrible on every level. That would quite possibly be the worst possible conclusion to Freeza's outing with Goku. I would much rather Freeza get his wish, and spiral its way into the next arc, or this arc.

Well I think a Goku and Frieza team up would end in one of two ways.

1. Would be as I said before, there would be a point where Goku would be in trouble, Frieza would take a blow in his place which would send him out as he would acknowledge that he couldn't beat Jiren alone. Goku then finds some way to win in the end, he revives Frieza and the two just go their separate ways. Frieza doesn't turn into a good guy, he doesn't make friends with Goku but he finally gets over his grudge with him.

Or

2. Some point in the fight, Frieza would attack Jiren head on, it would give Goku an opening and he would then use all his power in one last attack to knock Jiren off. At which point Goku has no energy left, Frieza knocks him off, wins and gets the wish for himself which leads into another confrontation in the future.

Your forgetting option 3.

Freeza stands in the background and does very little but intervenes at key moments from a distance to ensure Goku's victory. He then back stabs Goku for gets his wish, but dies again because he can't be revived using the earth Dragonballs and goes back to hell.

Going by the Episode 122 spoilers it looks like Frieza actually does fight Dyspo. There's mention of Vegeta and Goku but not the other three so they could possibly be out before this.

If Jiren ends up knocking off Vegeta in 122 before he fights Toppo then chances could be that Gohan might still be in it and he'll fight Toppo instead.

Like when Vegeta caused Gohan to beat Cell? Perhaps, he hasn't really had any significant hard earned battles yet so I'd hope that wouldn't be the case. The only one he's put any effort into looks to be Aniraza in the next episode.

Since before this saga began, I was under the impression (or at least expected some sort of plot twist) that the tournament wouldn't traditionally 'end.'

I was/am expecting a near-end interruption. Mostly I feel like Grand Priest and some angels, namely Mojito, will display an ulterior motive against Zeno and all universes. I'm unsure if it will just be these two, or more angels involved, however I don't see it being as black and white, and as predictable as U7 winning > wish all other universes back. I feel like there's a much, much bigger picture here.

Well, hopefully his fight with Dyspo is worthwhile, though based on his previous outings, he'll probably just berate and humiliate him.

I want Goku and Jiren and battle it out and then Freeza to pick up the scraps and eliminate both of those guys, win the tournament and then wish for the all life in the erased universes (excluding Jiren) to be brought back into Universe 7 so that when Freeza's brought back to life with the Dragon Balls on Earth, and wants to rebuild his empire, he has much more powerful underlings at his service.

With the advent of Dragon Ball's One Above All cleaning Zeno's "mess", erasing Future Zeno, restoring Universe 6 and then doing whatever he wants to do next.

- Aniraza is defeated by U7's teamwork
- Vegeta challenges Jiren but is overwhelmed and gets saved by Gohan and the androids
- Freeza tortures Dyspo and leaves him unconscious on the ring
- Toppo tries to attack Freeza but is stopped by Goku
- While Goku fights Toppo, Vegeta, Gohan and the androids fight with Jiren. Their tactic is to let Jiren tire out as much as possible so that Goku can finish him off
- Freeza gets Toppo off-guard while he's fighting Goku and knocks him off the ring
- The androids leave Jiren to Gohan and Vegeta while they recharge Goku's stamina with their infinite energy. Gohan sacrifices himself to save Vegeta from Jiren's attack. Angry at himself, Vegeta breaks through his shell and achieves the offense UI
- Having gained UI back, Goku joins Vegeta to fight Jiren. Through their teamwork they are able to beat Jiren and knock him off the ring, and end up on the ground with no stamina left
- Freeza invites the androids to go and kick Dyspo out of the ring to win the tournament, but as they move he backstabs them with a barrage of ki blasts, throwing them out of the ring
- Freeza then betrays Goku and Vegeta too, who try to fight back but are overwhelmed by Golden Freeza who is still at his top for, who throws them off the ring along with Dyspo, to be the one and only MVP of the Tournament of Power
- I don't know about Freeza's wish, but the universes stay erased

I wanna see my boy Vegetto. Maybe he'll go up against Jiren, maybe he'll use Ultra Instinct, maybe he'll just last one (entire) episode. Just Please, Toriyama, Toei, and Toyotaro. Bring Vegetto back at least one more time. Just one more time.

I don't want anything anymore. I just want to sit down and watch the arc unfold. I honestly cannot predict how this arc is going to end or how I even want it to end. Will Jiren win and restore all the Universes? Will Goku win and do the same? Will Freeza win and wish for something terrible? Will Vegeta win (no)? Lots of possibilities right now.

I want all the universes brought back, and while U7 should be the ones make the wish, I also want there to be a funny animosity directed at them. The same way Beerus is hated in the manga by the other gods, I want U7 team to be hated by the other teams. Not only were they responsible for the tournament, they also eliminated most of them. Like, if they ever have a get-together, I want them to go "Hey, it's the a*holes from U7!"

My sentiments exactly. The only thing I want at this point is for the erased universes to be brought back.

18 (and maybe 17) is knocked out, but the others prevail over their mechanized foe.

Frieza knocks out Dyspo.

Vegeta fights with Jiren but gets knocked out.

Frieza fights Toppo while Goku(, 17) and Gohan fight Jiren.

Frieza knocks out Toppo (but not without a great deal of difficulty), while Jiren patiently waits for Goku to achieve UI again. Disappointed (and bored) with the results, he knocks out Gohan (and 17). Goku snaps at Gohan (and 17)'s knockout and achieves both defense and offence UI.

Goku and Jiren have an epic battle while Frieza is waiting for his chance, occasionally helping Goku (and Goku preventing Jiren from knocking Frieza out now and then).

Goku knocks out Jiren but is dead tired. OR: Goku and Jiren are both dead tired.

Frieza knocks Goku (and Jiren if he's still standing) out. He's declared the winner.

Frieza wishes to replace Beerus as the God of Destruction of Universe 7 (acquiring Beerus' power as a result and achieving UI). Beerus becomes his underling (and rages about it). This is the only wish I can think of that gives Frieza a better access to Zeno (in order to further exploit the cosmic runt), gives him a huge power-boost (and keeps him relevant to Goku) and isn't in any danger of having his wish rejected.

Frieza leaves with Beerus and Whis (to plant the seeds of the next arc) while U7 returns home.

Eventually (a few episodes later) Frieza contacts Goku and tells him of his plan: To Wage War Against The Gods.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that a lot of fans complain about this tournament being predicatable but they also hope that it ends with with the SDB being used to bring everyone back which is basically the most predictable ending one can have ? :D
