Yeah, I find that super ironic, though I can't really blame them given the time travel travesty that was the ending of the Future Trunks arc. One of the reasons I want a dark ending is because this long, mostly dull, predictable arc, needs something memorable to be remembered for. I think a genuinely shocking ending where the heroes genuinely need to face the consequences of their actions and their being no simple fix to the problem would be a geniunely somber note to end the arc on if handled correctly.ToshioWrites wrote:Am I the only one who finds it funny that a lot of fans complain about this tournament being predicatable but they also hope that it ends with with the SDB being used to bring everyone back which is basically the most predictable ending one can have ?

With Jiren winning partly because I want my universe to win and secondly because I'd like his wish to be the best possible one for everyone involved. It would be a good way for toei to try and work in some actually character for him.
Edit: Option to would be as I predicted at the start of all this. Goku and Jiren get pushed to the limit with Jiren coming out on top but Frieza saves the day with a last minute cheap shot.

Goku defeats Jiren, Freeza tries some crap only to get owned.
Re: How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?
I want Freeza to get rid of Zenos somehow. Doesn't matter if he gets killed right after. If this doesn't happen, this entire arc and builup will be for nothing IMO. Particularly as no one else seem to care in the least about Zeno murdering trillions each round
Re: How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?
My wet dream would be a Goku and Gohan team up in some capacity. Just do it Toei, please. I will never complain about your mess of a series again if you just do this for me.

Ok, that's a lie, I'll still bitch and moan. BUT STILL PLEASE TOEI/TORIYAMA.

Given how Vegeta is stepping in for Goku to fight Jiren, I think its not much of an assumption to think that Goku will fight Toppo with Gohan?Artorias wrote:My wet dream would be a Goku and Gohan team up in some capacity. Re: How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?
Yay indeed. You don't sound too impressed lol, but I am in the minority I guess. I seem to be strangely alone in this sentiment. I've never really heard anybody yearn for that team up before, weirdly enough. Just always found the Goku and Gohan dynamic to be the nicest relationship in the series, and they've never both been relevant and in the same place at the same time. All throughout Z and Super, either one of them was irrelevant or they weren't available to fight together. This is the first time they're both narratively relevant and in the same spot, and I hope they take advantage of it, because it's probably never happening again.JazzMazz wrote:Given how Vegeta is stepping in for Goku to fight Jiren, I think its not much of an assumption to think that Goku will fight Toppo with Gohan?Artorias wrote:My wet dream would be a Goku and Gohan team up in some capacity. I don't think U7 will win
I think Jiren will be the one to win... and considering he hates violence and doesn't want to hurt anyone, I can see him wishing everyone back.

I'm fine with the idea of them teaming up, they are father and son after all. Its just that, I'm just kind of indifferent to the Saiyans teaming up. I just hope that their team up revolves around more than them just shooting Kamehameha's at people.Artorias wrote:Yay indeed. You don't sound too impressed lol, but I am in the minority I guess. Jiren defeats everyone and win the tournament, but after that something happens and breaks the flow of the tournament, thus leading to the next arc.

Here's another thought:
U11 wins, U7 gets erased.
Turns out the erased universes are teleported in something ala DC Comics' The Phantom Zone. All erased fighters have to work together to escape this Hell of Erasure. The only way to do it ... is to somehow trigger an event which will begin a War Against the Gods.
EDIT: This also means that Zamasu will be in this Hell of Erasure, and maybe will either antagonize the heroes or work with them to escape his Hakai.

Re: How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?
The NEP is starting to give me a different vibe now.
- I think Vegeta will pull a Hit, in that he will give Jiren a good fight, probably a better fight and then he will be knocked off.
- Frieza will beat Dyspo, a preview says they fight anyway.
- Now I'm thinking that Gohan might be the one to actually fight and even defeat Toppo.
- Android 17 I have no idea but hopefully Toppo knocks him off so he at least has something.
So in the end.....is it going to be Goku and Frieza teaming up to take down Jiren like that old Dragon Ball Heroes opening hinted at (or probably not) or is it actually going to be Goku and Gohan teaming up to take down Jiren like the current ending might imply?
I'd much rather see a Goku and Frieza team up but no it could actually be Gohan.

Re: How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?
I can see it going to time. U7 will win out by virtue of having the most fighters remaining, which in my opinion will be Goku & Frieza with only Jiren left for U11.

Well, when FT Trunks arc ending was darker than any DB arc ending before, a lot of people complained. I guess they need that happy ending, only to complain later there are no stakes whatsoever...It's cycle where Toriyama/Toei never win.ToshioWrites wrote:Am I the only one who finds it funny that a lot of fans complain about this tournament being predicatable but they also hope that it ends with with the SDB being used to bring everyone back which is basically the most predictable ending one can have ?
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

How will that work? I'd rather see U7/U11 end in a draw meaning the two universes are officially spared.Nickolaidas wrote:Here's another thought:

Through a McGuffin, I guess. Guarded by a powerful opponent or something. Anything done in fiction can be undone.SilverPlaqueVII wrote:How will that work?
Re: How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?
I'm a firm believer in continuing Toriyama's trend of Gokuu never getting a good, solid victory. So, for my ideal ending...
I would then use the next one or two episodes to wrap up the arc. I don't really know what Toriyama's plans for Freeza are up to this point, though, so I'm trying to remain conservative until we have more information.#63:
“Whatever Gokuu’s new form is it’s definitely given him an incredible amount of power!” reasons Kuririn. Son Gokuu and Jiren finally meet face-to-face again. “Round II,” says Gokuu.
Opening: a montage of the tournament so far.
Title Card
A Part: [“Saikyou no Battle” performed by Kushida Akira begins to play] Gokuu and Jiren begin a seemingly endless dance of trying to hit one another, but consistently failing due to their use of the Mastery of Self-Movement. Whis estimates that both fighters are down to about a fifth of their full power with Beers adding “The real question is: who’s better than whom at one-fifth of their usual stamina?” As Vegeta watches the battle before him his acquire a silver glow. [Insert Song Ends] Jiren begins to take the advantage over Gokuu. Gokuu simply isn’t as used to the Mastery of Self-Movement as Jiren is. Frustrated, Gokuu realizes he needs more stamina.
B Part: Gokuu asks Jiren why he thinks he will win, but Jiren does not reply. Gokuu says that as much as he hates to admit it, Jiren is still far and above the better fighter of the two. “Sad to say, I can’t win on my own. But the Tournament of Power isn’t just about a single fighter…” [Insert Song: “We Gotta Power (2005 ver.)” performed by Kageyama Hironobu] Suddenly, Gokuu’s aura erupts to everyone’s surprise. Whis and Beers realize what’s happening immediately: “The Genki-Dama shocked Gokuu into awakening the Mastery of Self-Movement. The residual genki that his body absorbed is still deep within his body!” Images of the memories of the members of the Seventh Universe play the background behind Gokuu as his power grows and grows. To Jiren’s chagrin he must unleash his full-power, too. Both fighters go at it one last time. Gokuu even smugly slaps the burn on the back of Jiren’s head! Finally, the two are caught in an incredible beam struggle that ends in an explosion! [Insert Song “We Gotta Power” ends] When the light clears the audience is shocked to find the arena is now completely destroy, only small chunks remaining. Both Gokuu and Jiren remain unconscious atop small floating boulders. “The time isn’t up yet!” “Someone can still win!” Suddenly, both boulders are blasted to smithereens by thin beams of ki that strike through the bodies of Gokuu and Jiren. Both contestants fall out of bounds. “The winner of the Tournament of Power is…Freeza from the Seventh Universe!” Shocked gasps play over a close-up of the smuggest Golden Freeza face ever.

Re: How do you want to see the end of this Tournament play out?
I posted this in the U7 Final Four thread a short while back.
Now that we've seen the preview for episode 122, I'd like to make a small change: Vegeta also battling against Jiren alongside Gokū and helping to achieve that simultaneous knockout that takes out both Gokū and Vegeta along with Jiren, leaving Gohan-kun (and Freeza, to an extent) to deal with Top.

This isn't so much a prediction as it is what I'd like to see happen, but...
Final Four: Gohan, Gokū, Vegeta, and Freeza vs. Jiren, Top, and Dispo
-Vegeta sacrifices his standing in the tournament in order to buy time for Gokū to reach his full power to take on Jiren. Jiren takes out Vegeta. Gohan battles Top. Freeza takes out Dispo.
Final Three: Gohan, Gokū, Freeza vs. Jiren and Top
-Gokū and Jiren, after a battle unlike any seen in Dragon Ball history, eliminate each other simultaneously.
Final Two: Gohan and Freeza vs. Top
-Gohan takes on Top while Freeza watches. Gohan pushes past his former limits in order to reach his previously alluded to new ultimate form different from his father's and eliminates Top.
Final Battle: Gohan vs. Freeza
-The tournament draws closer to its final moments with only Gohan and Freeza remaining. Freeza states that he will eliminate Gohan and use the Super Dragon Balls to place himself above all else in existence. Grand Priest does not approve, but, for the entertainment of both Zen-chan, allows Gohan and Freeza to battle. Having just used up most of his energy against Top, Gohan struggles to keep pace with Golden Freeza. Ultimately, Golden Freeza wears Gohan down and prepares to toss him from the ring. Suddenly, Freeza is nowhere to be seen. Much like SSJ3 during the Boo arc, Golden Freeza's incredible ki output used up the vast majority of his time and he appears in Hell again.
"But...but I was so close! Curse you...curse you filthy Saiyajin monkeys!!"
Gohan rises to his feet, beaten and battered, as the final piece of the pillar disappears into the fighting stage and the Grand Priest declares Son Gohan of Universe Seven the winner of the Tournament of Power. Gohan is then offered the wish on the Super Dragon Balls, but then...
TO BE CONTINUED...
I'll be the rouuuuundabout, the words will maaaaaaake you out and out-
