Dragon Ball art book?

I was looking on ebay and found this book that I've never seen before. Is it related to the Sparking video game series? I don't see any video game related stuff. It comes with a DVD too, but it doesn't say what's on it. There's lots of pictures...I think the artwork is from calendars? Too bad some of those 2-page spreads get ruined by the split from page to page. So yeah, anyone know?

Well, I know one thing: The stuff's in Simplified Chinese. Though preventing to be racist, I have little trust of anything that comes from China. Though the word "Sparking!" was used, they usually just slap words and logos that has nothing to do with the content in any way. But...the images look sweet, I'll give you that.

It's a bootleg artbook from China. Not too difficult to identify, as you pointed out, a lot of the artwork can be found from the recent japanese calendars, even the front cover. And images that aren't seem to be randomly photoshopped and editted. The obi's language is in Chinese and not Japanese. If you go though the seller's items, all of the items can be found on similar bootlegger's whole-sale websites.

I own the 2007 calendar so I recognize some of the images in the aucton but I also see this years calendar cover. Are the first lot of images featuring the character designs and villans based on the movie from 2008s calendar?

Ah crap, well I guess I will steer clear of this then. I don't think I would have bought it even if it were official with that price tag plus shipping.

Yeah lots of stuff going on at that darn Ebay. I once saw a full Batman the Animated Series set on VHS. The problem was that the VHS was this guy taping the shows when they came on by himself. That's awesome if someone bought it for $200.00 lol

I don't trust ebay at all, any shmuck with internet access can sell their crap on there and say it's genuine material. There's also quite a few con artists on there.
One example being that my sister and her fiancee sold speakers to a guy on ebay and he emailed her saying that they didn't work (however, they actually did work, my sister's fiancee tested them before they put them up for sale). They agreed to refund the guy if he sent the speakers back. When the guy recieved the money, he cancelled his account and never sent the speakers back.

Yeah, I just got ripped off today on ebay...I won 2 PS2 games and in the auction it said no scratches and I got them today and one of them looks like it was dragged across a sidewalk. But most of the time you can tell when you're getting bootlegs so either people are really ignorant or they just want to buy unofficial stuff.

I've ordered a few things from Ebay. My Budokai 3: GH just came in,and it was in perfect condition.

They just want to make money, plain and simple. The issue with Ebay is there once you get jipped, there's not much that can be done because most people on there are independant merchants, and either with private businesses, or by themselves entirely. I'd go to Amazon if I were you, Their selection may not be as wide, but there's a more limited of a chance of you getting screwed over by bastards who only want to make a buck. As I said before, I don't trust Ebay, I never have. But I also think that I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to these types of things. Anyway, bootleg or not, that art book is pretty cool.

I've never had problems with Ebay until lately, I'm probably not going to use it as much anymore because like you said, there's not much that can be done once you're ripped off. And even when you can do something about it sucks because the seller can leave you negative feedback even when the situation isn't your fault.

It could be an "I'm getting jipped on Ebay" phase for you, and as I added to my last post, I think that I'm just overly paranoid. Not everything on Ebay is bad, and not everyone is trying to jip their buyers. It just seems that it's happening to quite a few people lately.

I think that's what it is, because I'm pretty careful about what sellers I buy from. On a side note, I wonder if there's anywhere to get the calendar that those pictures are from for less than 30-something dollars.
