Movies Abridged

Yes, I know that there must be millions upon millions of crappy attempts at "abridging" DBZ, but my hopes slightly went up when I stumbled into this.

Apparently, the creators of the increasingly popular online abridged series for Naruto and Yu Yu Hakusho are teaming up to create an abridged series for the DBZ movies. From what I've seen so far, both Naruto and YYH Abridged are actually pretty well written (at least in comparison to most other stuff you see online) and is even pretty snappy at times, even poking some fun at some of the lesser known dub lines and VAs.

Anyways, there's no real release date for when to expect this, since it's more of a side project, but I hope that that doesn't prevent it from being pretty good.

Well, Naruto abridged is pretty good, so I guess I'll wait to see how this turns out.

I think my idea of doing a "GT Abridged" series has more merit, though.

It's a recent trend in "online cinematography," in which a longer series is taken and parodied by means of shortening it and revising the script as such with the intent to induce giggles from the audience.

The most famous one (as well as the best and the one that started the trend) is LittleKuriboh's Abridged Yu-Gi-Oh! series. It's a hoot; I'd enthusiastically encourage watching it even if you're not a YGO fan (which I aren't in particular).

Recent? It's been around for ages now. Back in my day, I used to be a decent Abridger myself, "Pokémon: The Abridged Series"! Those were the glory days I tells ya, I was gaining popularity faster than Jesus until Youtube shut me down by bannin' me account... That was over ten months ago, and the Abridged trend started well before that.
