Ignoring the fact that the preview obviously LOOKS gorgeous, it also has me very worried. It's hard to tell for sure without seeing the episode, but from the looks of it, it appears like Vegeta is just straight up going toe-to-toe with Jiren....which is just bs.

I'm no powerscaler, and frankly, power scaling discussions are the worst part about this fandom, but even I have to recognize that this makes zero sense and ruins the narrative. I'm praying that there's some sort of gimmick, because otherwise this might be the single worst instance of nonsensical powerscaling in the entire show. There's no excuse. Please don't have Vegeta put up a fight against Jiren just for the sake of pandering.

Hell, looking at it again, Goku appears to be LAUGHING while fighting Jiren. This almost seems SO ridiculous that it makes me think there HAS to be some sort of gimmick going on. I don't even think Toei would go this far in completely tarnishing the power logic.

Jiren is a God-tier shit stirrer and trash talker.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not a fan of giving Jiren that line. He’s supposed to be the Dragon Ball equivalent of Superman, at least as far as the manga is concerned. Trash talking like that seems out of character. Then again, Jiren in the anime doesn’t have much character anyway, so I guess there’s that.

I agree. If Aniraza required Vegeta to team up with the rest of his team, why would Vegeta be able to go to toe with Jiren, when Jiren is supposed to be the strongest opponent in the tournament?

Exactly. Jiren has such little personality that it's extremely jarring and weird whenever they give him these random shit talking lines. Same thing when he said to Hit "An assassins pride? How foolish!". That's not what a protector of the innocent and justice would sound like.

It's more a villain sounding line, and being extremely generic at that considering it's a line I could see literally any other character outside of Universe 2 saying without it sounding out of character. I mean I might as well as be shocked he didn't use other generic lines like "You've bitten off more than you can chew." "Now you're up against a real opponent". "You have only delayed the inevitable." Shit I can make a bingo game out of generic lines for Jiren to say. His blandness knows no bounds (Excluding the manga which could screw up what they have going for him)

How out of character if his debut was first in the anime that is not based on the manga? Both are two separate entities, I thought fans already knew that.

- Freeza vs. Dyspo
- Goku and Vegeta vs. Jiren
