I didn't even think the cyborgs could produce auras. By their own admission, the source of their power is different from that of the Saiyans or Freeza's. It's artificially generated by the engines implanted in their bodies. Unless they developed the ability to mould their organic ki and project it outwardly, I feel like that might be another creative oversight by the studio writing staff.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not a fan of giving Jiren that line. He’s supposed to be the Dragon Ball equivalent of Superman, at least as far as the manga is concerned. Trash talking like that seems out of character.

How out of character if his debut was first in the anime that is not based on the manga? Both are two separate entities, I thought fans already knew that.

It’s just that I was under the impression that Toriyama gave outlines on Jiren’s personality, and that said outlines established him as being a Superman-esque character, played straight. Frankly, that’s a lot more interesting than simply making him some generic badass who trash talks his opponents.

Ignoring the fact that the preview obviously LOOKS gorgeous, it also has me very worried. It's hard to tell for sure without seeing the episode, but from the looks of it, it appears like Vegeta is just straight up going toe-to-toe with Jiren....which is just bs.

He landed one solid kick to Jiren's gut, so what? I seem to recall the NEP for 111 showing Hit striking Jiren's chest yet he still got blown out of the arena.

In regards to the content of your post, Vegeta clearly only gets one hit. That is objective, observable fact. You also have no proof that Jiren is "actually serious".

Not at all since he relied on Yajirobe, Kuririn and Gohan to defeat Vegeta. Freeza would have killed Goku if wasn't for SSJ. He couldn't even put a good fight against the Cell Jr. He assumed to be stronger than Pure Boo as a SSJ3 but relied on the Spirit Bomb to eliminate him. He was cocky and got humilated by Beerus. Was careless and was taken down by a minion. His "rage" amounted to nothing since Black almost killed him anyway, so was Hit and Jiren.

First of all...what?

Secondly, if we're taking the franchise as a whole, then no, Goku is not a jobber... at all. Vegeta, across all series and movies, always gets his ass kicked by the major villain. Always. It's a tradition. Mind you, he may contribute to the ultimate victory in some way, but we know he's going to get horrifically pummeled by Jiren, yet not attain some new form to give him an edge like Goku did.

It looks like Vegeta is going to at least put up a fight which against someone like that is all I ask for. It also seems Goku and Freeza fight him as well so with them there there's a chance Vegeta won't get knocked out.
