So I think the actual fighting is going until AT LEAST 128, which would be the end of February, and could last as long as 132 or so.

Then again, I'm also in the camp that thinks there's no "twist" at the end of the tournament. I think it's literally going to be tournament ends, the winner wishes back all the universe, everyone goes home, the end. So that plays a role in my assumptions.
I do hope they have a better wrap-up than the Future Trunks arc did at the very least. My biggest peeve with that ending was that they hit the brakes on the plot in the same episode the fighting ended. It was really abrupt.
That's something everyone here wants to happen. A good ending to a good arc in my opinion.

I thought Onishi is going to be working on the new Percure show in 2018.
I think you're thinking of Ryo Onishi.

This Vegeta shot is the perfect example of how I think new DB should look like:
- Fully black hair
- No highlights on characters skins.
- Good aesthetics (body proportions, muscles...)

In others words, just like DBZ looked.

Bonus: Finally Vegeta has some battle damage. Now just give me some blood.
Blood is just aesthetic I'm totally fine without it. But I do hope we see Vegeta go completely shirtless like Goku.

Also agree regarding black hair imo base Goku and Vegeta will never look good as long as they have those stupid highlights rewatching Z makes me love how base Goku looks there.

This might be a stupid and perhaps very obvious question, but are the episodes usually animated around the soundtrack, and not the other way around? Sometimes the music just fits so perfectly like in 118 for example, where it seems like it was decided beforehand that this is the song they want to play, and they have to focus their animation around it so that it syncs up perfectly.

Sound is the last part of the production. In Japanese animation it is very rare for the voices to be recorded first. The storyboard will note how to distribute drawings to decide the lip flaps and then the actors are expected to match the timing noted in the storyboard. More often than not there is next to no finished animation in time for the sound recording, so the actors and the sound team have to make their best guesses for how the performance will match. Luckily the series director and episode director are involved in the voice recording and sound production.

I suggest you watch Shirobako on Crunchyroll to learn more. Not only is it just a plain great series, it's extremely informative.

EDIT: Whoops, hit reply too soon. The music is placed by the sound director, but if an episode director, storyboard artist or series director has a particular idea in mind they'll be very hands on with that part. Also, at Toei the storyboards are expected to list which piece of music is used and when, too.

Thanks for the information, but that sounds like more of a voice actor thing, I was asking about Sumitomo's soundtrack.

I hit reply by accident and just finished editing my post! ♥ It's also possible for a specific piece of music to be requested to be created for a scene, too, but it's not always something that happens.

Jiren doing something is so rare that when the opposite will happen they promote that upcoming episode like crazy.
Feels good to know it will be a Takahashi's episode too.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

Today's batch of pictures: https://twitter.com/DB_super2015/status ... 0173319169
Toei's really building the anticipation for this episode. Hopefully there's some good stuff in it to warrant that. Most of the art certainly looks good.

I'm kind of surprised we haven't had a new promo image for this "season" or a preview of the new ED yet.

According to Google they said they're gonna post more tomorrow?

I guess due to the week break they don't want people to forget about DBS.

From what Terez was saying on twitter, the first batch said there would be new images every day this week. Seems a bit much for a normal episode. :eh:

They finally realised what social media can do!

Since the week break the episode is probably finished now so I assume that's another reason they're flaunting these images.
