Old Budokai & Super DBZ Music

Post by Lavender Saiyan » Tue Nov 06, 2007 4:46 am

With the JP releases of Sparking Neo and Sparking Meteor using the Original Music from the series. It made me think of something music wise that I have not before.

Tenkaichi 2 obviously did not feature the Original Score like the JP release did.

Which leads to my question. When the 3 Budokai Games, Budokai Tenkaichi 1, and Super DBZ were released in America. Did they use the same score as their JP Video Game counterparts. Or did we in America create our own Score for those games?

Thanks. :)

The three Budokai games kept their Japanese music. The original Sparking! used music from the series unlike the original Budokai Tenkachi, and I'm pretty sure Super DBZ kept it's Japanese music too.

Correct.

-Budokai games: Same score, though the intro songs were reduced to instrumentals. :? In Budokai 1, Cha La was replaced with Rock the Dragon. :?

-Budokai Tenkaichi: All of the music is changed. Licensing issues, methinks. But it's all different. BT1 just recycled old Budokai tunes, while BT2 had entirely new music. In the case of BT2, I prefer it's music over Sparking NEO. The music was higher quality (like comparing mp3 to midi), and each tune was a lot longer than the super-short and never-ending clips that Sparking NEO had. It also just had some straight up good music.

-Super DBZ: Same music, though I don't think any of us can say the music from that game was memorable. I can't remember anything from it. The intro, which was Cha La 2006 remix, was removed for the US release.
