I feel like Kale's treatment really put Broly hype to bed
Re: I feel like Kale's treatment really put Broly hype to bed
Broly was a blah character with some cool looking features and an interesting story. But they messed the plot all up and the reasoning behind his hate for goku was laughable. Hes still a cool looking character but the hype has been gone for a while. By the way it has nothing to do with Kale, if anything she put broly on a higher level. Kale is a worse version of broly, how is that even possible? It blows my mind to this day.

Broly's hype was only for a few factors. One he has more films than any other villain excluding Frieza. Therfore the fandom had a lot of exposure to him, two his power level is severely over exaggerated and fans are under the impression that it's endless and he can just obtain any form he wants simply because of that(trust me there's many people under the impression Broly could even get UI if he wanted), and three is actually because of Kale like my fellow fan above me said. If anything she revived his already dying relevance to the series.
Re: I feel like Kale's treatment really put Broly hype to bed
The only thing i liked about Broly was his design and attacks. His personality was lacking, and the movies were bad bad written.
First i thought that Kale would be the same exact thing as Broly but in female version, but i ended up loving her as one of my most favorite characters from the entire franchise. But i don't think that most of DB fans agree with me, and i saw that many Broly fans hate Kale and still hype about Broly, because they wanted Broly canonized (even if that would make no sense)

That's fine by me. Maybe now it's time to do something more with the character, something different from being a power house. Kale has his relationship with Caulifla and his increasing self steem, and that's what actually made her more interesting, not her power or "Broly references".
I really miss ma boy, Black

A solid first film, as someone that beat the crap out of 4 Super Saiyans and a Super Namekian with ease. The end was, well, stupid in the way Goku beat him. The Android 13 Spirit Super Saiyan thing would have worked better in that regard. His backstory could easily have been done better. But for what he was; a Doomsday-esque character with more personality (believe it or not), he wasn't bad. And had a lot of potential.
His second film, like another poster said, had it done a bit more like saying Broly's mind had broken after losing to Goku, would have done a bit more for it.
Let's just say, outside of "auntie 18" helping Goten and Trunks, that his third film never happened.

I personally think Broly's development made sense, for who he is. He lost his mind in the second coming due to what Goku did to him, which is understandable, I don't know what people were expecting from Broly... did they expect him to come back happily after his defeat against Goku? lolJackalope89 wrote:A solid first film, as someone that beat the crap out of 4 Super Saiyans and a Super Namekian with ease. was it ever actually established in universe that her controlled form is stronger than her berserk form? If so could somebody post me a screenshot?
Re: I feel like Kale's treatment really put Broly hype to bed
It totally was. But we're talking with the controlled form with the green hair, called "True Legendary Super Saiyan" by the wiki. If you thought we were talking about the SSj form she assumed when she was breaking out of Cocotte Zone, then no, that one's weaker than Berserk.snpaa wrote:was it ever actually established in universe that her controlled form is stronger than her berserk form?
