They did a countdown thing for BoG movie so it could be a movie, I dunno how many movies Toei do a year though.
I mentioned the new Kitaro update on the previous page but made the mistake of being the final post on the page so the next person to post started a new page.
( TT u TT )

Toei usually does 2 movies a year at minimum (Precure All Stars and then a regular Precure movie in October). At max I think maybe 4 (If their Toei studio anniversary movie was during a One Piece movie year that would've been 4 total).
EDIT
Any ideas as to what movies Toei are producing right now aside from Dragon Ball? I know there isn't currently a One Piece one announced as of yet.

Sorry, just re-read your post, Precure movies are produced annually, so they have at least one, then whatever else they decide to go for. All Stars in a new thing from what I can gather.
All Stars has been going on annually since Fresh Precure (the 2009-2010 season) This upcoming one will be their 10th. They rename it every 3 years, but it's still the one of two yearly Precure moves.

So there's been 2 Precure movies each year for the past decade.

Other Toei movies....there's going to be two Sailor Moon Crystal movies covering the final two arcs of the manga, but Toei has been silent on those for a long time. No clue when they'll happen.
On hiatus.

If Super is going on hiatus or ending in March, I do believe it will do so that weekend (25th) so it makes sense to give more info if this movie is tied in to Super or whatnot for this to be when the info is given.
See that's what makes everything so confusing #131 airs March 18th not 25th. So meaning #133 will enter a new cour (as the BD listings still have 299 mins) if BD 11 was the normal 12 eps it would line up.

Thanks so much for clearing that up. I was a bit confused reading the Precure wikipedia page.

So it looks like there will be a minimum of 3 movies this year, unless Kitaro is one, so maybe 4.
Not sure whether or not to count part 6 of Digimon Adventure Tri, which is out in Japan this May, as that could already be finished.

Now I am totally thrown off. Could it be they are airing a Kitaro/One Piece/Dragon Ball Super crossover on the 25th? so that wouldn't be included as a Super episode on the BD?.
All I can think of right now.

I have three theories:
a) DBS has another break between now and March thus meaning #131 will air March 25th.
b) Kitaro will have a recap special episode March 25th
c) Since ToP ends one episode short of a cour they didn't want to include post ToP arc material as part of BD11.

If it launches right into the next arc after this one ends, that would explain the lack of a "filler" episode to round out the dvd set...

No one has said this. It’s most likely that Super will just go on break to work on the movie and get its stuff together like fixing the schedule because the schedule the have not only affects the quality but it makes Toei pay more money for outsourcing an free lancers. This would be a smart business decision. Super is already making loads of money and changing the title wouldn’t really benefit them at all. Ajay says the theoretically they would go on hiatus and they could ride off the money that the video games and merchandise make and then ride off the new movie’s revenue into the grand return of Super like how they did with BoG and RoF leading into the premier of Super
I called it that Gogeta, Bardock, and something Broly related would be in the movie before it was even announced that it was a Broly movie. 8)

I totally forgot about filler.

If the Universe Survival Arc really does end on episode 131, but for a box set it would lack one more episode to complete it, the missing episode spot (episode 132) would be filled with filler unless we are

1. Jumping into the next arc so episode 132 would be in the next box set

Or

2. Going on break

I would prefer the 2nd one but the first one would mean something connected to the ending of the T.o.P which has me intrigued.

UPDATE
No episode on February 25 or March 11th which means that episode 130 (the theoretical last episode of the tournament) will air on March 25.

Everything is quickly falling into place. Only 4 days until we get a possible confirmation. In other news, AnimeAjay tweeted about the Kitaro, 4 days countdown, thing.

Why no episode February 25th?

Also at least we'll finally know what's going on with Kitaro by the end of the week in relation to Super.

Edit: 2/25 is the Tokyo marathon. Got it.
On hiatus.

Welp that's it like I said a break in Feb is indirect confirmation. I hope the final fight doesn't go on one min per episode...

#133 without breaks would land Mar 25th but with two breaks known ahead thus they reduced it #131. Which implies that DBS was supposed end at that cour regardless.

It'd suck for it to end when it's getting so good. I hope that countdown is for a movie and not a series cause Super feels like it's just getting started.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I agree. Let's hope it's just a hiatus while the movie is in production, so they can sort out the schedule, which is costing Toei a lot of money, as they are paying freelance animators.

A hiatus is the most it's going to be based on how well the franchise is selling and a new movie on the way that'll probably make more than the previous 2. Even with that in mind, it's going to be a painful wait but I guess it'll be OK as long as it results in better production once it comes back.

The Anime Japan stuff is very interesting now. If they have the new movie info on the 25th, that would be right after the last ToP episode airs... [Hope for Sadala Movie quietly intensfies]

Even if Super does end here, I'm sure they added in the plot threads of the extra four Universes, the Sadala trip and the introduction of at least two new forms as a way of saying 'hey, there's more to come!"

Of course it or a new show will be here by 2019 I just don't want to wait. It feels like yesterday when it was announced and now it's ending (maybe).

Well, it's good if they manage to fix the planning problems by taking a break and making a new Dragon Ball anime after this.

Right? It doesn't feel like we're 120+ episodes in at all. The ToP itself has flew by despite it's length.

The worrying thing is if DBS does end on March 25th there is no guarantee it is an hiatus like everyone thinks.

If the ToP goes a minute per episode then they'll have I think just one episode to wrap not only the arc but DBS too, unless they pull something cheeky and leave a "To Be Continued... "

If Super ends, I just don't understand what a rebrand does for them at this point in time.
Super is established, and is making them a lot of money.

I just hope it is a hiatus, and it returns as Super, though what worries me is, is that if it is a new series, it'll take Funimation ages to license it again, and it'll be a long time before we get it.

Maybe they'll do a time skip and call it "Dragon Ball Z"?

Rebrand doesn't make sense this isn't Yu-Gi-Oh! They've struggled for a brand forever and they finally have one plus like you said it means doing all international negotiations again when DBS is already there established, eg. Toei USA and FUNi just did a massive U.S merch roll out!
