So it seems there's a high chance of the series ending for good in March?

So no Poachers stuff with Goten, Trunks and Maron? I guess it will be offscreened.
Feel bad for our friend Lemmy because at the end Goten never did anything in DBS, even Kid Trunks was relevant in the Future Trunks Arc.

Wow, no resolution for Freeza. Nothing for Trunks/Goten.
And if Gohan loses next week, I guess Gohan didn't get a return to glory. This is the worst day of my life.

At this stage, it's just for the better, don't even show them again. Let's hope they finally grow up in the next series/arc/post-break, it's gotten to the ridiculous point keeping these 3 drawn as toddlers with 3 years left till EOZ or soperucho1990 wrote:So no Poachers stuff with Goten, Trunks and Maron? Ha, you wish. Its definitely going to be a very even fight.perucho1990 wrote:The only way DBS returns asap is if Freeza wins, but his chances of winning at close to 0, in the manga Freeza is still treated as a joke.Torturephile wrote: What I'm more interested in is Freeza. He surely won't get the wish unless they they leave the ending of Super in a cliffhanger, which isn't likely I believe.
Also Jiren is going to job to mastered UI Goku

Maybe they should have just left Fat Buu in the tournament than bringing back Freeza after all.

Or Fit Buu... We were robbed of him!precita wrote:Maybe they should have just left Fat Buu in the tournament than bringing back Freeza after all.

The Super manga will either go until the end of ToP and end, or possibly connect to the anime comeback, as this arc could easily be stretched out for a whole year.
Anyway, even if it's still a promotional tool, I doubt it would be suddenly interrupted. Manga that are made after an anime often run for at least a few months after the respective animation is over. They're cheap to do, after all.

Speculate Super content to death as we wait more eighteen years (2036) for a new anime series to be announcedSandubadear wrote:Oh boy! What will we do without the weekly dose of Dragon Ball?

You gave good points and even though I think Super is just an average series, we can't deny the impact it had on the franchise. Through all its incoherence and inconsistency, I can say it was a fun ride.SirTorra wrote:I'm glad Super is finally ending. It tarnished the legacy of Dragon Ball more than it helped it. It was a train wreck from start to finish. Hopefully if they do continue it, they take atleast a year after the movie to sit down and write a decent story for once with the proper animation it deserves. It's also time for a time skip. Retire Goku and Vegeta and let rhe new generation take center stage. But knowing Toei and Toriyama that won't happen.

I guess 131 episodes is a good run for a new series, too bad the first 25ish episodes were wasted on shitty movie adaptions.

Yeah, there really was no point in rehashing the movies.precita wrote:I guess 131 episodes is a good run for a new series, too bad the first 25ish episodes were wasted on shitty movie adaptions.

Wow. This is very surprising news. I expect this will have impact on Crunchyroll... at least they won't have to worry about server overload from new Dragonball episodes I suppose.

I seriously doubt this was a cancellation of some kind. It's very likely that the reason is that they need staff for other stuff, the movie included.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

adaptation of toriyama's story.......sounds the same to me.Noah wrote:So it seems there's a high chance of the series ending for good in March?

Invalid comparison as Super anime is it's own thing, not a adaptation.

it got the bad animation.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Can't say i'm surprised the signs were there, working on a movie and a long running series sounds destructive.
if i was betting man, they work on the movie, bring the series back in april 2019 which would then bring us back to the same horrific schedule we had before..

Looks like everyone who hated Super got their wish. The rest of us shall hang our heads in shame.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Or need time to figure out what DB series to do next. If this is an actual CANCELATION with this kind of financial results (record numbers for the company), entire board of directors at Toei should just resign immediately lolIntoTheFire wrote:I seriously doubt this was a cancellation of some kind.
