I gotta just chime in and say that I really disliked Super DBZ. For me, a casual gaming fan, it was frustratingly difficult, and a lot of the specials were hard to pull off.
The music was terrible, and it barely had any replay value at all. Only a few characters had super finishers, and while those looked nice it left me wondering why every character didn't have one ...
I'm the type of gamer who plays alone, and so I rely on the single player experience to deliver. The single player here was extremely bare bones, and I found myself bored with it rather quickly. There was no online component, so, that's another aspect where it was a disappointment.
You can argue that the Sparking games are rather simplistic in nature, but I would argue that Sparking 3 has a BUNCH of new techniques and features that are very useful and add a ton of variety to gameplay. They've improved dramatically with each installment, and I totally think that Sparking 3 is the definitive Dragonball Z experience. The argument that "all you do is charge up and throw ki blasts" is no longer applicable. Sure, you CAN do that, but doing so simply means that you're an unskilled player. Just check out this video:

Budokai 3 was great for it's time, but to go back to it now it seems so... limiting. I mean, lack of controllable flight in a DBZ game? Come on. I personally can't go back to that style.
At the very least, it's a LOT more memorable than Super DBZ. That's a game that quite simply belonged solely in the arcades.[/url]
