Who Will Win?

Post by Peripuff » Wed Jan 24, 2018 10:38 pm

The tournament is nearing its end with its final 6 members remaining, and I thought it would be fun to rank all 6 members from who you think will be the most likely members to win, and who you want will win. What I mean by this is rank everyone who is remaining from most likely to win to least likely to win, and then do the same with your most wanted to win to your least wanted to win.

Personally, by likelihood:

1. Freeza (There's a reason he replaced Buu, his wish might be it)
2. Jiren (Jiren is seeming invincible at this point, I don't think he'll win but he certainly could)
3. 17 (Toriyama likes to subvert expectations, also 17 seems to have all the advantages for the ToP, like the barrier, infinite energy, and strategy)
4. Vegeta (Because he's Vegeta)
5. Goku (It's Toriyama, he likes to subvert expectations)
6. Toppo (I think it's safe to say at this point that there's no way Toppo's surviving longer than Jiren)

Wishlist:

1. 17 (17 is my favourite character, what can I say)
2. Vegeta (I would love to see Vegeta get some spotlight considering he never beat a major villain or won a major event to my knowledge)
3. Freeza (I want to know what he would wish for)
4. Goku (I feel like it would be too cliché, I know Goku has only won one tournament to date, but I feel like the story would be better if any the others won)
5. Toppo (I don't want U11 to win, but it would be funny if Toppo won instead of Jiren)
6. Jiren (I really don't want U11 to win, the fact that EoZ exists means that U11 would have to wish back U7, and that would mean we would know the wish)

Jiren or Goku are the only ones I can see.

Freeza is certain to use his wish for evil and I don’t think Dbs will end on a cliffhanger
Vegeta winning is something that will never happen and RoF made me drop that hope
17 and Toppo are unlikely to even make it to final 3

This is more of a Goku centric arc with him starting the tournament so him winnning is the most likely and natural way to go.

I'd love to see Vegeta take down a main villain but only if it's a Vegeta centric arc which this hasn't.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Vegeta can't win. It's not his role in Dragonball. HIs role was to supply Goku with the wish back in 112.
Why would they have a character who has been gone since the Cell arc win? 17 is not winning.
Toppo is second fiddle in his universe and can't win (same reasons as Vegeta).
Freeza was the only one I could see other than Goku winning, but the series ending in 7 episodes pretty much confirms that he won't.
Goku has to win (especially after the backlash from quitting against Hit, and jobbing to Merged Zamasu in favor of Trunks in the anime). This has been built up as his arc.

In order of likelihood:

1. Ultra Instinct Goku. That's what's been built up and it really is the only thing that can give Jiren a challenge at this stage.
2. Jiren. He's dominating, UI is no guarantee of victory, and it could always continue the trend of Super where the good guys don't get clear wins. His ambiguous wish could easily be used to bring everybody back. Personally, my theory is that he'd use it to erase all the gods, Zeno included.
3. Freeza. This is looking less likely now we know the series is ending, since it always seemed like a Freeza win would have to segue into a new arc where he's the villain. It's still possible that he could pull it off (hanging back to blast whoever wins the final battle so he can steal the wish is the most likely strategy), but his plotline would have to be wrapped up immediately. Might seem like a waste now.
4. Vegetto. Hey, it can happen. Potara fusion is on the table, and the show has finagled a scenario where Vegeta is fighting Jiren alongside Goku. Only obstacle here is that right now the two of them are in full-on pride mode and aren't likely to go for it. But if they did, Vegetto v Jiren would be a hell of a fight to end on.
5. Toppo. Maybe? This GoD powerup sounds like a big deal.
6. Vegeta. Feh.
7. 17. WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?

If Frieza wins, cannot do anything evil with Super DBs, wish must be asked in Dragon's language and Grand Priest would not permit it
I put my two cents on Jiren or Vegeta, but final wish will be to restore back any erased universe.
If we didn't know the series is ending in 7 episodes, a cool twist would have been in an evil wish by Jiren imo, or Toppo corrupted by GoD power.

Also remember the winner of the wish /= the last Man standing, Zenos will choose their MVP who could also be someone who gone out long ago, like Roshi

Goku has to win (especially after the backlash from quitting against Hit, and jobbing to Merged Zamasu in favor of Trunks in the anime). This has been built up as his arc.
Dbs is breaking those stigmas. Goku hasn’t won one final battle in any arc except the Freeza arc. And from what I’ve seen, there was little to no backlash that Goku has been losing. Beerus was a god and it would be stupid if Goku beat him in the first arc. The whole U6 V U7 Arc was to introduce and hype up another universe. What better way to do that then to have Goku quit because he knows he can’t win? The Future Trunks arc was not Goku’s story or his name would be in the title instead of, well, Future Trunks. And Zeno getting the true kill was a good way to show off his power so people shouldn’t be mad that Goku lost to Merged Zamasu.

Saying this arc has been built up as his is like saying the same for the U6 V U7 Arc. He’s. Just shown to be the most hyped for it. Doesn’t mean he can lose again to this Tournament’s “Hit” which is Jiren in this case. Plus, it would be dumb is Goku mastered UI in under 25 minutes. The only way he can win is if its from a combined effort or if U7 has more people which still means that “he” got the win. It means “they” got the win. As for Vegeta, they seem to be doing him justice so don’t count him out yet. He might just stay in the arena til the end.
I called it that Gogeta, Bardock, and something Broly related would be in the movie before it was even announced that it was a Broly movie. 8)

Either Goku or Freeza will win. That's what seems to be the most plausible thing. Goku because he is Goku, Freeza because "HE'S FREEZA OMG BECAUSE OF HIM THEY WIN" will be the reaction.

I'd like to see Goku and Vegeta be standing together at the end. They've been training, fighting, and learning to work together throughout Super. Let them finally win together to close things out. Or a 1-2 finish where one is the last man standing but the other one gets the wish.

I want them to just play it straight this time. Have Goku and Vegeta work together and defeat Jiren. It doesn't need to be unorthodox or over-complicated. Just have some good old fashioned teamwork.

Jiren - he appears to be far stronger than even UI Goku. Even if Goku masters UI, i can't see how he will jump from being unable to do anything to Jiren to surpassing him by mastering the new form. This would be a giant, massive asspull, maybe the biggest in the franchise.

Vegeta - DBS is unpredictable and Vegeta had massive character development. I suspect that he can win, maybe not by force, but U7 can win by having Goku and Vegeta on the stage, while U11 has only Jiren. The universe with more characters wins, then they can win without DEFEATING Jiren, and if this happens, Grand Priest may say that Vegeta will be the one who will get the wish from the Super Dragon Balls.

Vegetto - To me this is the only reasonable way of winning by STRENGHT.

Goku - Dragon Ball is Goku's show, afterall. The power of protagonism can make he win.

Since its ending, it's probably going to be Goku that's going to win. I still would like some sort of pay off from all the Freeza stuff.

Universe 7 will win, Frieza will get the wish.

Frieza will go to make the wish, and he'll run out of time just as he goes to make it or just as it's about to be made in the language of the God's, and he'll run out of time due to stamina exhaustion (his stamina was made a point of last weekend) and returned to his personal Hell and flower garden.

Goku will then make the big fist-pump, cheering moment of the arc and wish every erased universe back.

Cut to EoZ, with events just before what we see play out. Goku learning Uub is entering, etc.
