I disagree. Perfect cell had literally no motivation. Same for Buu.

Every antagonist is super had a solid motive. Beerus wanted to fight the SSG. Freeza came back to destroy Goku and Vegeta. Champa wanted u7 earth. Jiren clearly wants the Super DB's so much he'd rather destroy innocent universes.

Zamasu though, Trump's everyone else. You slot the black arc in with some changes after the shit Buu arc and the series will end will the second best and deepest written villain.

Z is extremely over hyped in terms of story after namek.

Cell and Beerus' motivation is almost identical. They just want to fight for the heck of it. The only difference between them is that Beerus doesn't have quite as much malice in him as Cell did, but that becomes apparent only after their fight is done. His reason for engaging Goku in battle is as shallow as it could be. And Jiren is currently one of the weakest most uninteresting antagonists I have seen in this franchise. Buu wasn't intriguing that regard either, but he was not so much a character, but more like a calamity with a face. His unpredictable, chaotic nature was what set him apart from the rest.

Also, I don't count Freeza as a 'Super' antagonist.

That still matches Z almost toe to toe. Zamasu is still the second best villain of the series.

They're really not. Cell wanted to fight strong people for the sake of stroking his ego. The moment he meant someone stronger than him, he had a breakdown. Beerus wanted to fight a Super Saiyan God to have a real rival and was disappointed when Goku didn't meet up to his expectations. For Beerus, fighting a Super Saiyan God wasn't an ego trip like the Cell Games were to Cell. And Jiren's motives are unclear, but he's mostly fighting for his universe, which more motivation that most of Z villains even if you find his personality dry.

Vegeta isn't the one initiating the fight. The spoilers say Toppo and Jiren attack him.

Goku isn’t out as we’ve yet to see him master UI and fight Jiren. Maybe the spoilers just failed to mention him cause Of a mistake or maybe he’s recovering stamina

Actually, it comes across as Vegeta would still rather fight Jiren instead of the upgraded Toppo haha.

Nonsense, this isn't gonna be fun at all if it's just another rehash of Jiren being an emotionless bitch while he smacks away everything, puts Vegeta down and fights Goku yet again afterwards.

It's the type of ki Trunks used in his final battle, very powerful, dosen't require anything and can be achieved with ignoring training while you look after your pregnant wife, plot ki is back in action baby!

PS haven't been paying attention to spoilers recently, gotta have spoiler free Dragonball before it possibly ends for good ( besides this one, my buddy just had to be a douchebag and let me know ), so if I am misjudging any Vegeta moments here not knowing the whole situation and all, feel free to correct me, will look it up.. once Super's done that is..
