The game being built around 3v3 didn't inherently prevent it from having a 2v2 or 1v1 mode available. At one point they said it you could battle with up to 3 fighters (implying 3 was the maxinum, not the only option), so had they stuck with that mindset, they could have gotten my money.
Ok but how often do we get 3 v 3 games that have a 1 v 1 mode standard, because I cant think of many in recent times

Even if such combos where to exist you can use assists to cancel them.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

50 more minutes and I have access to both this game and MH World.

Too bad I have to go to sleep because I wake up 6 in the morning in order to go to work.

I don't know. I don't care about 3v3 games. This one is only on my radar because it's Dragon Ball.

You are right. I also forgot about the teleporting mechanic and the sparking mode. There are definitely a few ways to get out of long combos. I guess I will have to grind and learn how to play the hard way, although I hope I will be having fun as that what matters to me. I could lose most of my matches but still keep going if I'm enjoying myself.

I was also on the same boat until I realized that I actually hate crossover fighting games (which almost always are 2v2 or 3v3), rather than 3v3/2v2 fighting games.

I hate this blending of franchises that makes no sense character-wise, lore-wise, campaign-wise, artstyle-wise and the like. Seeing Marvel's Venom fighting King Arthur from Ghosts n' Goblins (or Spider-Man fighting Viewtiful Joe) is so cringeworthy to me I want to puke.

You can't call assists during blockstun or hitstun, i.e. when getting combo'd. You can't use Sparking Blast, either. There are no ways of getting out of a combo in this game.

Yeah, you can’t use assists to get out of combos, but you can use teleport. If someone is beating the shit out of you, you should at least be able to gain 1 ki to teleport out, and at that point you can switch characters and etc.

Finished watching the whole story mode on youtube, started off good but got kinda repetitive at the end. The whole videogame story with the clones obviously only exists to give you someone to fight, eh.

What's weird is that I've seen clips posted here of scenes not in the story mode? I watched the 3 main story modes on youtube, but I've seen someone post a clip here of Cell interacting with the two Buu's and that wasn't in any of the main story modes, or that other Yamcha scene in the cave with Piccolo. Are there further cutscenes outside of the main story?

It`s hard to be a fan of any character in those conditions. I wouldn`t mind half as much as long he had some development and it wouldn`t even need to be of a protagonist level.

Vegeta, Yamcha and Kuririn are the three most meme characters of the whole main cast and have been for decades but the other two are awarded cool moments to even that out. Yamcha isn`t. That`s what makes him the easy target out of everyone.
Fair enough. I admire your passion, and that of others. I just wasn't aware that people went into such micro-analysis of individual characters. The sum of parts is what interests me, but maybe not everyone else.

Depending of the characters in your team the story mode will give you different interactions.

Not sure about wholly different cutscenes, haven`t played it yet.

So have people figured out how Online works yet?
There seems to be multiple types of lobbies, Meeting, Arena, Ring and Ring Party. There also is 3 types of matches. Arena Match, World Match and Ring Match. Arena Match puts you with someone else in from the lobby you're in. World Match puts you with anyone around the world. Ring Match allows you to choose your fighting conditions and create your own room. I assume Ring Match is for playing with friends but I can't see any invite options to play with friends. Anyone know how to get into a fight with friends?

There are a heap of unique cutscenes based on your team composition before a story fight. So for example, I have a team with Tien and Cell (and any other third character as you can have less than 3 in story mode), I'll get a cutscene with them two talking before the fight. When I say heaps, I really mean it, seems to be about 50 or of them. Also can trigger depending on your enemy or if youre vsing a clone with that same character. Plus there are also 'Link events' which are the character talking to the soul inside of them. Each character has 7 of them.

I feel the clones concept was poorly executed. There is nothing about them. But, they are cheap fodder and that is what their role is.
Now, I really wish that ArcSys really did put Metal Cooler in the game with Core Cooler as an arcade mode boss or (this is just a fantasy) Metal Fifth Form Cooler because at least with the Meta Coolers there is some personality there. Plus, Cooler and Metal Cooler are veterans from ArcSys developed Dragon Ball games).

I'm not that interested in fighting games but man do I wanna play this game. Not necessarily because of the gameplay but for the story and interactions between the characters, which I know sounds crazy. Also this may be a bit premature of me to ask but those who have played or spoiled themselves I have a little question regarding Android 21.
So I got spoiled on that there was a good and evil Android 21 due to my own curiosity and from the little I saw of evil Android 21 I wasn't that big a fan. Does she act like that the entire game or does she get any better? I know it's a bit foolish of me to ask this after only watching one video but I was pretty interested in her before but she comes off as sorta meh. Not like her being a meh main villain will ruin my enjoyment of the game I was just wondering is all.
I finished the Super Warriors arc, Android 21 combo challenges, and the tutorial. The first arc at least is pretty easy and you can easily get perfect in most of your fights.

The game is pretty enjoyable although as I soon as I tried to play local battles on the hardest difficulty they erased the shit out of me in few seconds lol I don't even have the time to think about what to do. But that is expected from a noob like me, gotta take years to master it.

Hope there are some good youtube videos that explain strategies and that kind of stuff and where to begin exactly.

Also, android 21 is love android 21 is life. :D

Is there a way to up the difficulty in story mode? These clone fights are pathetic. Levels don't seem to matter, they're barely a step above practice dummies.

Story mode itself is interesting, but the gameplay is bland. I'm not that far in, only just recruited Piccolo, but the map progression feels pointless. You get enough turns to pick up everything with plenty to spare, and half the fights seem to be training mode battles.

The training thing will stop. Id say just dont use items that help you but i dont think there'd be a way to change difficulty. If youre that good at the game congratulations though haha, I've been mostly fine only a few defeats here and there.
