Did I miss something? I loved the series when it first came out, but when I revisited it last year, nothing about it held up, and I'm not talking about the graphics. The entire presentation feels antiquated. I'm really not trying to go down the "LAWL CASUALS" route because I hate that reaction, but it seems like they've just got nostalgia boners.
Not everyone has to like the game. After all the crazy hype it is getting of course there is a chance it won't live up to expectations with people.

So the PC version performs swimmingly the two times I've gotten the game to launch, running under the minimum specs at 1080p, x2 AA, Max textures, but has frequent "Unreal 4 Fatal Error" errors and servers that were not ready for 40,000+ simultaneous players! I'm putting it down so I don't go over Steam's refund time limit, but will definitely hang on for updates within the two week window. The game seems to fine, its just everything around it that's loopy!

I can say I'm loving this game visuals, everyone feels so much better than that plastic highlighted XENOVERSE sh*t. I wish every DB game had this graphics

After a few hours spent with the PC version, this game definitely worth the wait. It's probably the best looking celshaded game I've seen so far, and it plays really well. There are just so many different moves to combine and learn, and then there are characters like Krillin who can manipulate all of his ki-blasts, and play some really heavy mind games on the opponent. I think it's anything but repetitive as some people claimed, and there's a lot of depth despite the auto combos.
Also, being more of a traditional fighting game, it still retains all of the DBZ-game specific moves like ki-charging, flying rushdowns, vanishing, etc. and it all blends well into the game.

I gotta say, I kind of regret going through the story mode on YT, before the release. It would have been better to discover everything as I'm playing, but that's not the game's fault obviously.

Okay, is there a video or something that shows how to do quarter circles with the d-pad? This shouldn't be rocket science, yet for some reason I am failing almost 10/10 times to execute special moves no matter what I do. I hit down, then quickly move my thumb over to the right in a circle motion and hit X, and instead of a Kamehameha Goku just keeps jumping back and firing a ki blast into the air. I tried hitting both directional buttons at the same time, spacing out when I hit them, playing around with the timing, and no matter what I do I have only been able to do it maybe once in like the 30+ tries I've done. I've no trouble doing it on analog except for the fact that analog is inaccurate and causes me to drop inputs sometimes.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Figured it out, I think it's cause I must have still been holding Down on the D-Pad after I completed the half circle.

Although I can't verify this, and I have some doubts about this. Some of those are really unexpected.

I do plan to eventually get this game. I'd love to have it on the Switch (unfortunately I'd have to wait for that to be announced, then released) but the idea of a TFS voice pack for the PC version sounds amazing (even though right now it's only a bantered around idea and not a solid thing yet).

I'll just wait it out and see which of the two happens first.
On hiatus.

Some of the combo challenges feel downright impossible on a pad. Teen Gohan's shoryuken into super and Krillin's down special into Kamehameha are particularly bad. That shoryuken doesn't feel like it can combo into anything, you can't input until he lands, by which time the AI has already recovered. Same with Krillin's air Kamehameha, it always fires off just a second too slow.

I like the theme team names in arcade mode, some of them are very similar to the ones people came up with before release. I was glad to see "Super Saiyan bargain sale" for SSJ2 Gohan, Gotenks and Trunks. I would have saved that one for the inevitable SSJ Bardock and Caulfila/Kale/Kefla DLC though. Also, the all-Goku Team is called "Kakarot is number one", which is cool. I'd have gone with "Vanilla, Blueberry, Raspberry", but I guess they wanted to reference actual lines.

I have some doubts about them including some of these characters just yet. I mean yeah Broly and Bardock are shoe ins, but I'm surprised theyd throw in multile pride troopers when Toppo has almost nothing to go for but a command grab and a machine gun shot attack. He'd make a reasonable assist to Jiren. Heck they could put all the pride troopers in one moveset like they did Ginyu Force.

Kid Goku makes me very wary to trust this, same for Fuu since theres nothing to do with the time patrol in this to even link him in.

I really want Raditz tbh

Fuu in Fighterz? Dafuq? Hell no! Now that sounds fishy. For all that, we might as well have Android 21 as either a DLC character for XV2 or as a new entity in a possible XV3.

That sounds good, except Fuu... like, who cares about him? they could have put Towa/Mira as a team instead.

Well, if thats true I'm glad to see Broly and Kefla, that's all I wanted.

Mm, that's cheeky. On the one hand, 7/8 of these are obvious picks anybody could justify. The 8th on the other hand...madness. Like, that might generate more anger than if the base Goku/Vegeta thing turned out to be true. Nobody's heard of him and everybody would be like "we got this guy but not Vegito/Roshi/Satan"?

I guess...it would be better than the base forms, but still. I wouldn't count it as legit if it's just an anonymous leak.

That's not even close to the point. The point is, there's a bizarre amount of people who (at least, they've said) have bought it, played it, and in some cases have decided to return it, because doesn't play like Budokai Tenkaichi, and then when people point out that A) they're two completely different games or B) they should have known it wasn't like BTK from any screens/footage/etc., the latter are accused of being trolls or on Bandai-Namco/Arc's payroll.

Can anyone help me? I preordered the ultimate edition but how do I access the BGM tracks and all of the other additional features? I downloaded the game already but I can’t even tell what the difference is in the versions. My version as Goku Black and SsGSs Vegeta And Goku. I also thought I was supposed to have additional tracks for music. And if so how do I access them or have them playing during my fights?

Sorry for being s complete noob. I haven’t even picked up my PS4 controller in almost 2 years but when I heard about this game I knew I’d be hooked.

The music and commentator packs were delayed, you'll get them for free but they don't come out until a later date. You should have received an email about it at some point, I know I did.

If it turns out to be true (when has the datamining turned out lemons for Dragon Ball games?), well...

Image

I am disappointed that everyone of the Extreme Butoden roster made it in BUT my favorite character.
There is hope for maybe a second batch of DLC that maybe had Dr. Gero, Cooler (Metal Cooler), and Raditz as legacy characters from the past ArcSys developed Dragon Ball games,
but I doubt it.

I'll check in for news about the game, but consider me a lost potential customer for now.

What? Fuu is my ass, but the other choices are pretty good. I couldn't really imagine this game without Broly at all.

Why is the assumption that KID means Kid Gokū?

Could be Kid Trunks or Kid Pilaf or Kid 21 or something for all we know.

Or hell even if it is Kid Gokū... maybe it's GT Kid Gokū ha ha.
