Actually it was always broken, it just that Toppo's using it to its full potential. Hakai energy, the power the GoD wield, is the antithesis of existence. They have the power do destroy anything.

I Enjoyed Watching Freeza Getting "Don't Tazz Me Bro" from Toppo.

He Got a Taste of Justice after what he did to Jimeze.

The only thing is (and I know it's best to wait for subs but) if the Hakai hit 17 wouldn't 17 just cease to exist? Same with Frieza. He managed to control Sidra's small amount but he was engulfed in Toppos. I thought the Hakai was supposed to be used to erase, though Toppo using it almost like normal ki blasts.

I see. Still, I think a regular ki blast could of done the same thing. It just was implied to me that the "Hakai" energy was supposed to erase on contact. Otherwise why would Hakaishins like Beerus and the others use normal ki blasts at all? They could just use Hakai energy and "hold back" so it won't kill/erase.

I'm pretty sure a blast like the one he made to collide with 17's could of incapacitated Frieza with this increase in power.

The cornered Toppo utilizes his true power as a candidate for God of Destruction! He backs Jiren up to attack Vegeta. However, Vegeta likewise challenges Jiren with a nonstop full-power attack. Who will be the victor?!

17 and Freeza This Week: in dire straits!
17 and Freeza try to defeat Toppo; 17 by using rocks to attack, and Freeza by using his psychic powers! However, both are downed by Toppo's counterattack!

So this part of the episode 126 preview turned out to be fake? Because Freeza already got knocked the f out.

It's all about control.

We know that hakai is not an instant kill if not enough energy is used. As seen with Sidra and Frieza. Think that to destroy anything a certain amount of hakai energy must be used to erase it, like the force of your hand needed to rub a black board clean or smash something with a hammer. for a normal human or a planet only a small amount of energy ever need be used (a planet dose need to be erased fully you have only to destroy the important parts of its structure) but for more powerful beings who's bodies contain vast amounts of energy (which is in reality just the other side of the coin for matter) more effort must be applied.

If someone can properly control the power, it's theoretically possible for them to hurt someone without killing them. I liken it to a nasty blast of radiation. The energy seeps into your body, damaging everything indiscriminately but as long as the exposure is low you'll survive.

Honestly, I've kind of fallen out of Super lately - especially since I know it's ending. Many of these episodes just seem like filler to me until the grand finale so I'll just wait to watch all of them until Super's done or dubbed. As dub fan in addition to sub fan, I think I'm turning most of my attention to the dub until we get to the last Jiren battle and the last episode stuff. Pointless reply over.

(Couldn't edit my post so...) Nah I was wrong earlier, he obviously and unsurprisingly bulked up. Muscle grew upon fat. And is 17 eliminated judging from that preview?

I'm inclined to agree; I already found Top uninteresting, and his transformation into Broli made him even less interesting to me. The only thing I'm particularly looking forward to at this point is Gokū's final battle with Jiren.
