I can't believe Funi allowed the line to stay in place that Bulma knew Future Trunks' hair was blue. Like c'mon guys.

I came here to say this same point! Of all the little changes they make they couldn't swap out this line for something else...

I am really enjoying this, everyone was on point this episode. Black sounded fantastic, so now I am gonna be a little disappointed when his British alter ego pops up, but I'll live. Can I just say that Korin saying "Now drop a phat beat" may be my favorite thing ever.

Are people basing this off fighterz and xenoverse or has there been a leak because its pretty clear Schemmel has gone with a new direction in the dub (and very much for the better). His laugh was awesome when Trunks first hit him. Only negative was he went way too far normal goku on the its over trunks line.

Oh god, I forgot about all the Pilaf shenanigans in this arc. At least Chuck Huber made that shopping channel bit fun. Rapid fire comedy like that is always hard to dub, but the writers and actor made it work seamlessly. Gonna be weird when we get to the Universe Survival Arc and he clocks off as Pilaf and on as Android Hiei.

This was a daggy episode, but a good dub. Goku Black and Future Trunks are both sounding great. It's funny watching this alongside playing FighterZ because I'm switching between this version of Goku Black and the accented version. Both are well acted, and I'm starting to notice hints of the refined voice in this version. Maybe the transition idea can work.

Ok I'm sold on Schemmel's Black now, how he handles the Rose form is another story but if he can refine the base voice (which has improved by the dropping of the chain smoker-like voice) I have confidence he can do the same again.

Definitely excited to watch this arc again with the Funi cast.

Hell, SUB FANS are still confused by it. I don't even know if Super's trying to be a sequel to the manga, the Z anime, or Kai (since it takes bit & pieces from all 3), but then they throw THIS mess into the equation. Just make his hair purple like kid Trunks. It won't be confusing when they're in the same shots if that's what they're worried about. They're the same basic character, but trust the people in the audience to be able to tell the difference through the context presented.

I predict this is the artwork they will probably use for Part 4. Wonder what colour scheme it will be. Part 1 was Red for SSG, Part 2 purple for Freeza, Part 3 for SSGSS, Part 4, black for well Goku Black? And then maybe green or pink for Part 5.

#1 Bulma's hair never changed from purple to teal when the first episode showed her. Even going from Z/Kai to Super, teal is still a color variant of blue. compared to Future Trunks who went from one actual color to another.

#2 Just because Toriyama doesn't care, doesn't mean we don't have to care. And if you don't care, fine whatever.

#3 Kid Trunks' hair is still purple. it's still a stupid decision to have the same character from two different timelines having two different colors. At least tell the Toei animators to turn Kid Trunks' hair blue in the first episode of Super.

Aha, he's so big no where else to put him! Had him for ages though, didn't fancy getting any of the big Vegetto Blue's since he only made a cameo didn't feel it was worth it.

1. No one gives 2 shits about Bulma's hair color difference. It was originally meant to be purple & only Path to Power got it right. Her name is supposed to be Romanized as "Bluma/Blooma" but no one cares about that either, not even Toriyama, since he romanized it HIMSELF as "Bulma" in the manga. The reason no one's throwing a fit about it is because it's not a continuity error within the anime shows & movies. Her hair started out a shade of teal, now it's blue, but n one cares because it's close enough & doesn't present any problems.
2. Trunks' hair was supposed to be the same color as Bulma's in the manga, but it was already set in stone in the anime. If it was supposed to be blue, it should've been colored that way back in the 90s to match Bulma's, but I don't think the animators knew who he was at the time. Plus, kid Trunks still has the purple hair, so it's both a continuity error AND an inconsistency in the show itself. If kid Trunks has blue hair, Future Trunks should as well. It only draws attention to itself because of the visual inconsistency. Everyone ELSE is perfectly on-point with their colors, so HE should be too.
3. I don't think Toriyama gives a shit about ANYTHING Dragon Ball related anymore, given some of the story & character decisions he's made, as well as letting the anime staff make. He just comes up with plots & lets the storytellers of the anime & manga go to town. In any case, his not caring about color consistency was ok for the manga, since it was always in black & white & Toriyama has always issues keeping a consistent continuity within Dragon Ball anyways. This is an anime TV series. Colors are ALWAYS part of anything animated & keeping a consistent continuity of coloring going is one of the things the animators need to do. Toriyama only does the storylines & character designs, so his input means jackshit to the animation staff passed the character designs & any new outfits they may have. Hair colors & the designs of their costumes from the past shows should be already known to them & they should be able to keep those consistent.
And even then, someone actually corrected Toriyama when he was drawing some of the character designs for Battle of Gods, since he forgot 18 was a blonde & kid Trunks' hair was purple, so I have NO idea why he thought that Future Trunks having blue hair was acceptable, or why the animators or producers did. It's a continuity gaff with the past shows & movies, it breaks this show's internal continuity just by itself, & it's a bad decision. If anything, one of the anime staff should've pointed out everything I just did & they should've corrected it before the episodes aired. If you honestly don't see this as a problem, you don't get how new TV shows in an established franchise should work.

Sean himself confirmed he'll be switching to the British accent, when Black goes Rose', on a Reddit AMA a few days ago. There was some drama over it too, if you look back a few pages you can see what happened. Whether or not they go back and change this before that episode comes out remains to be seen, but considering these episodes were recorded months ago, and re-recording due to fan backlash would create needless work, it seems very unlikely that would be the case.

Thanks for that. I cant say I'm not dissapointed because Gokus voice doesnt come through at all in his accent performance of rose in Fighterz. However at least its in line with him changing voices slightly for each form of ssj.

Hopefully he brings in more Goku and tones down the accent a bit because i love how Black sounds atm.
