Dose anyone else feel sorry for most of the ToP's fighters?

I would. If only they felt sorry for themselves. Some even were happy when getting erased so why would I care if they don't care for themselves?

Well, I feel sorry only for the missed opportunities in this saga.

After reading many of the posts stated so far, I think this is where their is fundamental difference in the viewing of the value of characters between different fans and our ideals of value.

Something I have notice as I have grown older and experienced more story and concepts is that I find myself caring even for the most limited time person in a story. No matter who they are I always wonder with the events happening around them and their part in the story, I wonder questions of who they are, their backstory, their family, friends, dreams, goals, their very lives they live, etc. When a civilian gets killed in a disaster movie or a Solider fighting alongside James Bond to death a Villain is killed or just someone walking down the street in a story, I realize that obscure person could as easy be ME or someone I care about that has Great Weight and Value to many other people in their world.

The Universal Truth for me is these character in the ToP or just in the stories I mentioned and the Thousands of other story mediums that their are, that these characters are just Strangers I just have not gotten to know yet and is only determined by the story-teller(s) in who they decided to reveal.

This is why I say I fundamentally Feel Bad and Care even for the most unknown character cause they are just another Goku or Vegeta with a story, a journey and a path to power that has Not-Yet been told to us yet. A character's value means more to use Yea when we know more of it and the length of time we have known it. But the interesting and most unique thing about each character and person in a story in nearly any capacity is that they all have Live and Journies to tell as well, each character has potential and it is what makes me care more about each of them, varying degrees yes, but still care about them cause they are all living-thinking-beings with a lives to tell.
