Someone else already pointed out in another thread, as long as the casuals(japanese fans) enjoy current DBS then everything will be fine. If you dont like current DB then go watch something else now that 2018 will have a lot of mainstream animes.
I guess we better call 50 Shades of Grey a masterpiece of literature because it sells.

Never said DBS has a top tier writing, just that Toei wont bother putting more effort as long as their main demographics are happy with the current product.

They were upset when Gohan got eliminated for example despite most fans here wanting him gone because he "overstayed his welcome".

I don't know how accurately that clip portrays the overall enjoyment of the average DB fan; it's no different then looking at the comment section of an episode.
Also, yeah, the majority of any fandom will always be casual fans , but I don't think that's a bad thing.

I agree with your general sentiment that sales, ratings etc have nothing to do with the quality of the series. People should support their opinion without relying on measures like that.

I will say that while I saw mostly negative responses here and on GameFaq I saw mostly positive responses on Tumblr and Reddit and both on Twitter.

I don’t know why the difference of opinion but I don’t think it is a matter of casual vs hard core fans either.

Most fans that got upset at Vegeta performance are Goku fans and the Anti Vegeta fans, the point of Vegeta asspulls was to show his determination in bringing back U6 no matter what, and helps that U6 are a likeable bunch, I dont mind Vegeta reaching Hakaishin level because I want U6 to get revived no matter what.
I highly disagree with this statement, most people that disliked his performance disliked it because the bad execution and nothing more.
I'm fine with Vegeta eliminating Toppo but i disliked the way he eliminated him.
I really miss ma boy, Black :(

Might want to check govetasAV and ken xyros twitter to see how much Japanese fans “love” the dbs super episodes. Lets just say ratings have been pretty low in Japan.

Episode is extremely flawed, and there’s a reason a lot of fans don’t like it.
I did check KenXyro's twitter. Japanese fans liked 126 more than 125.

Am I the only who liked 126?
First heavy and important victory for Vegeta to date, and he had a mostruous feat, dude just blasted a GoD

I'm glad the series is being catered to the "filthy casuals".

If the hardcore nut jobs got what they wanted, Uub, Goten, Trunks, and Pan would be the main characters.

No thanks, had enough of those crappy characters during GT. I'll take the Goku and Vegeta show any day of the week.

I think you got the demands of groups mixed up mate..
Every discussion this forum has had about the future of series and the new generation taking over, 99% of the time old guard are highly against it while the new users are supportive of the idea..

GT did a disaster in the way it characterized other ones, aside maybe from Goku only

Just imagine a 17-frieza level treatment for teen Goten, Trunks, Pan and Uub

I absolutely loved Episode 126; it was a big comeback after Episode 125 severely disappointed me. I hope the final handful of episodes continue this trend.

GT characterized characters better than Super does these days. Disaster my ass, at least they acted human like and weren't all androids with infinite energy.

But for some people, 5 year old Pan turning SSJ3 would be hype and amazing because flashy things > personality.

Also, people acting as if for example Goten being a lady-boy was a GT Thing, when it was shown at EoZ that he slacks off instead of training.

Not so much  but lol, Trunks is meh

Goten...uh...
Gohan passed from the series strongest being to be a piece of furniture
Pan is meh, not so bad but you'd expect much more from Gohan's daughter and Goku's niece
Uub goes from Buu reicarnation and Goku disciple to zero
Vegeta is a no one at least until Baby
Not exactly much better, imo
And I love GT, it's my childhood, but Goten and others treatment still gives me nightmares

Just watch what Super did to ToPGeta, 17, Frieza, even Gohan himself

Only 17 and Freeza shine in this aspect. Vegeta is forced as heck to sell more merch, and Gohan was boring to watch, going out against a fodder trooper to boot.

I have to quote on Vegeta, is more of an asspull but when I stop and rethink of what we saw in Super, I say " whatever, It's good anyway"

Asspull 126, but wow, just wow
Gohan deserved maybe something more, but is ok in my opinion, better than doing nothing, Dyspo at the end of the day was only third to a GoD like Toppo and an unbeatable freak like Jiren, on himself is pretty dangerous

There are 3 things wrong with this comment.

1. No human ever fought in GT, Uub had to become half Majin to be useful and they were all used as batteries for Goku's power twice in that show and I think humans can't do that

2. Pan had personality, it was just so annoying that not many liked her. Imagine Caulifla minus the usefulness and thats GT Pan. I know she was a kid and they are usually brats but that does not make less annoying, in fact it makes it worse.

3. Pan was also 9 not 5 and 14 in the dub.

Vegetas moment wasnt bad, and seriously speaking, if Vegeta continues to win again in the same fashion in the movie(If he appear) and in the new series(If it becomes a reality) then I would agree that he got ruined as a character.

Thats the main reason the likes of Natsu and Erza get hate, because they always win in the same fashion(nakama power) to the point it gets boring.

Also, one of eoZ last moment is with Trunks and Goten promising to Goku to continue their training to protect the Earth, before goku left
Finding both slacking off in GT is nonsensical

You know I noticed something in Super, whenever they try to make someone useful other than Goku, they make it happen in a stupid way.
