Hey! Wanna have a DB/Z/GT marathon but not deal with filler?

Post by Ben Plante » Mon Jun 07, 2004 6:52 pm

It's so simple. 99% of DVD players have it set up where you can press the FF button once, and it simply speeds up the video, but still shows everything, including subtitles. It's about a 4/1 ratio, you get through filler 4 times as fast without missing anything! Perfect for those who want to see it all without skipping! Huh? HUH!?

It's better, trust.

Have you been at the energy drinks again?

I'm already rewatching the series, every second of the worst filler included. Crabs and giant toy planes and fake planets... >=P

Now I understand why filler has such a bad reputation.

Bah; in my day, we watched nothing but filler, and it was dubbed, and by Ocean group for that matter, and we didn't complain. You should just feel lucky you have DBZ to watch at all *shakes fist*

Weeeellllll, I had to watch the Saiyajin saga in French! And all the characters had terribly mis-matched voices, especially Piccolo! Sure it was uncut, but it was the same 26 episodes over and over and over again! Imagine listening to Piccolo's voice sounding like he's possessed by a duck with sinus problems saying the same lines over and over and over again! So I've had it worse than any of you. Ha! :P

Hmmmm, not sure. You could try asking Dayspring, he's watched the French too and he might know where you can find episodes or clips. The most I can offer you is to dub my taped copies and mail them to you.

You know I really feel "touched" that everyone wants to experience the same torture and pain that I've been through. I think I'm going to cry! :P

I can't remember which was which: When was Piccolo called "Petit Coeur" and when was he called "Satan"?

You... you'd do that, Jerseymilk? Just for me?

Could you also rip any dvds you own, copy your mangas, send your first-born (tasty!)... :D

I'm trying to find clips of him on the French sites right now. They have just about everything, but no clips of Piccolo. Maybe they found the voice as foul as you did.

I've been meaning to say this for a while, and this topic is the perfect example... anyone notice how by the time a thread reaches, like, 15-020 posts, the subject of discussion is no longer what the thread was started for? :?

You've been keeping track of this Ben? :? I think you need to get outside more.

Alias if you really want them, I can dub my tapes for you and make copies to send. As for DVD ripping, copying any mangas, and sending you my firstborn? Don't know how, would take me 50 years, and don't have kids and don't want any, so I'm afraid you're out of luck on those. ^_^

And Dayspring I believe he was called "Satan" by mostly everyone, but I remember for certain that at least the narrator called him "Petit Couer" pretty much every time. And the two names were used during the same time.

I'm a statistics freak, Jersey.

For instance, did you know that [Insert impossibly long diatribe of jargon here] which then results in a monkey eating papayas?

He's referred to as "Petit Coeur" in every movie because Satan is in some of them.

Do you really think they're that bad?

To me, all voices but early goku and vegeta are great.
Thankfully Goku and Vegeta's voice are changed somewhere in the Saiyajin saga, and its 36 episodes long, isnt it?

Well, I don't know what you mean by Goku's voice being changed because as far as I know, it was always the same actor throughout the entire saga. Yes Vegita's first voice was reeeeaaaaaaaaallly bad. Like a "retarded chipmunk" people, it wasn't pretty. :? Thank goodness they changed it. Actually the actor that took over after was one of the few who sounded fine, well accept when he was getting mad about not being able to defeat Goku during their face-off. He got a little crazy sounding there. And I don't mind the French Goku too much accept for the fact that he's as wooden as log cabin in a B.C. forest! :? Especially when he does the Kamehameha! He doesn't even get the beats on the syllables right! Besides the fact that the actor sounds like he was buffing his nails when he spoke the line!
