I agree that Uub deserves a 2nd chance to showcase himself. He was probably the most wasted character in GT.
Lets take a look at 17, he was handled terrible in GT, and now in DBS he is probably the best support character in the ToP, even if he gets eliminated in episode 127 his treatment has been great.

17 is easily the biggest surprise to come out of the current arc so hopefully him and Gohan will stick around in the future.perucho1990 wrote:I agree that Uub deserves a 2nd chance to showcase himself. He was probably the most wasted character in GT.

In terms of Uub, Super's last episode will tell us if we'll see him in the future cause if it covers EOZ in its last episode then we'll surely move into that area once the anime is back but if not then there'll be a chance it stay in those 10 years.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
If next arc is EOZ you'll definitely see adult Trunks and Goten as main fighters, especially with Trunks being back in his popular adult form again. Most likely Pan and Uub will get some focus too. I don't know about Bra/Marron though.
I feel like the TOP was the last hurrah for most of the older DBZ cast, I don't see Tien, Roshi, Krillin or even the two Androids having a big role next time. Piccolo and Gohan could go either way but I hope they stay relevant

Trunks is definitely a good reason to move into EOZ as they'll have their popular Trunks appearance again.precita wrote:If next arc is EOZ you'll definitely see adult Trunks and Goten as main fighters, especially with Trunks being back in his popular adult form again.

Gohan is 26 in EOZ so there's no reason to keep him out of action.

Eh... A guy who had surpassed his father at the age of 5. For the next twenty-five years of his life he went about helping build up Freeza's real estate monopoly while having Cui as a constant and aggressive rival who he couldn't seem to escape the clutches of until he was brought to his knees on Earth and forced to retreat for the "first time" in his life (noted by Vegeta himself). Keep in mind that Cui was described as being in the same boat as Dodoria when it came to sitting back contentedly at base and riding on Freeza's coattails. His training must not have been that good if a languisher like Cui could keep up with him.TheOtherDude wrote:You find it annoying that a guy who spends his entire life training (with the exception of right before Bullas birth) is in the same hemisphere as Goku? Vegeta's power-ups seem to be given to him just so that he stays in the same tier as Goku... which I think should stop at this point as I find it a bit annoying.
If you ask me that’s one thing Super has done right. In a real life scenario, someone who works their butt off and gets no respect or little pay off is not enjoyable to watch.

Piccolo would be 29 by EoZ, he can still be relevant. The "I cant keep up with u guys anymore" statement from Piccolo was anime only.sintzu wrote:Trunks is definitely a good reason to move into EOZ as they'll have their popular Trunks appearance again.precita wrote:If next arc is EOZ you'll definitely see adult Trunks and Goten as main fighters, especially with Trunks being back in his popular adult form again.

17 might still be relevant, popularity will determine his fate when we reach EoZ.

I might have been okay with it had it not felt like a forced attempt to make him relevant.TheOtherDude wrote:You find it annoying that a guy who spends his entire life training (with the exception of right before Bullas birth) is in the same hemisphere as Goku? And with Gohan, I like the idea of him getting back into training after realizing that's what he needed to do to protect his family.
In one case, we've got a guy who works hard but didn't think about his family the entire arc until the last episode and got a BS power-up because of it.
And on the other, we got a guy who is always talking about his family and it's subtly implied that they are his motivation throughout the ToP not being given the attention he needs.
But that's not even the point I was making with that comment. Vegeta doesn't need to be in Goku's tier of power to still be an interesting character if he's written right. I don't want Vegeta to keep getting power-ups just for the sole reason that he is Goku's rivals... which is what it honestly feels like is happening in these recent episodes. And he's still up in the preview for the next episode so it's not like he even will face the consequences of what he did in this episode.

Yes, I don't know but I think we will not get a new series any sooner, probably 2 or 3 years from now onKenneth La Torre wrote:Everyone here talking about the next arc, when dbs is ending, and god knows how long till a new show resurfaces.

I always got this crazy theory about the TOP becoming a thing, let´s say every 10 or 5 years we get a new TOP, without erasing any universe, just for the sake of both Zeno´s fun, this way, the next TOP will need almost a new team for U7, because Krillin, Tien and Roshi are most likely to retire from fighting due to aging and Freeza will most likely not be there.precita wrote:If next arc is EOZ you'll definitely see adult Trunks and Goten as main fighters, especially with Trunks being back in his popular adult form again. So this leaves the members of the team like this: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan (Saiyans genes prevent them from aging) Piccolo (He never backs down from a fight, just like Goku says, he loves to fight) and the Androids (They are both enjoying the TOP and Krillin ask them, they would join)
This would leave 4 spots for new fighters, they can be: Goten, Trunks and Uub as the next generation of Z-Fighters and the other spot could go to Buu (He was very excited to fight alongside Goku and the team recognizes as one of the strongest beings of Earth) or Pan (She´s still very young, but whatever)

So you’re going to conveniently ignore everything that happens after that? Pointing out what happened in the beginning of series doesn’t diminish anything that happened on screen Post Frieza Saga. You’ve seen him put in work more so than anyone else after that time. Spent his days thinking he was the most powerful saiyan around, then upped his game once he found out he wasn’t.Lionel wrote:Eh... A guy who had surpassed his father at the age of 5. If nobody is in Gokus tier, then you get something like what happened in the Super 17 arc. Where everyone was useless and only Goku could make a difference. With most animes the number 2 guy is usually in the same tier as the main character, but just slightly fall short due to certain characteristics and abilities. Zoro, Sasuke, Kaiba etc. You get the picture.GamerSkull wrote:I might have been okay with it had it not felt like a forced attempt to make him relevant.TheOtherDude wrote:You find it annoying that a guy who spends his entire life training (with the exception of right before Bullas birth) is in the same hemisphere as Goku? With that being said, Vegetas power up makes sense if you don’t assume that Vegeta took off a year of training after the Black arc. I think it’s believable that he only took the last few weeks leading up to the tournament off. Any gains he lost during that time frame was easily made up when he went into the ROSAT. There WAS some foreshadowing that Vegeta was pretty strong now. His lack of reaction to Gokus transformation and not wanting to give up his energy let us knew something was up with him besides the usual cockiness.
In the manga we see Vegeta attain controlled SSB prior to the tournament, so it’s safe to assume that they were about even going into the survival arc. The only problem was SSBKK.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Oh I don't dismiss it, don't get me wrong. Most of Vegeta's power boosts after the Freeza arc were earned by his own sweat and toil. I'm just trying to address the part emphasised about his having trained all of his life as a justification for equaling Goku. It's commendable and it's a good demonstration of work ethic, but I think efficiency would be just as important as duration. Granted, we don't know what Vegeta's methods were like when he was still part of the Planet Trade Organisation, but we did hear a minion relay to Vegeta as he was on one of Freeza's planets after the Saiyan arc that Cui was wanting to see him in the training room; implying that they may have sparred together and were accustomed to one another there.TheOtherDude wrote:So you’re going to conveniently ignore everything that happens after that? On the other hand, you could say the same about ethics and lack of efficiency with so many of the other characters yet they made enormous gains anyway so that might not be the most sound argument to use here.

The Gap between Naruto and Sasuke was also huge when Naruto gained the chakra of all the bijus, and then Sasuke gets the rinnegan to become his equal. Vegeta could reach current Gokus level in that kawai blue form and the his pride powerup that make him overcome a Hakaishin level foe in Toppo.

The franchise is too big for them to wait that long. Look how fast they rushed Super into production not knowing how it'd do so with them knowing it's a hit they'll bring it back as soon as possible.jeffbr92 wrote:Yes, I don't know but I think we will not get a new series any sooner, probably 2 or 3 years from now onKenneth La Torre wrote:Everyone here talking about the next arc, when dbs is ending, and god knows how long till a new show resurfaces.

Doubt it. Its better if they take their time. It doesn’t matter how big a series is either, that doesn’t mean it’s coming back soon.sintzu wrote:The franchise is too big for them to wait that long. Why are we debating Vegeta's power relative to Goku's when by the end of this arc Goku will be far above Vegeta with his Mastered UI? Vegeta logically shouldn't be able to touch Goku in a fight ever again. These comparisons with Saskue are flawed because he was actually Naruto's equal by the end of series and fought him to a stalemate. When was the last time Vegeta was equal to Goku at the end of a series? DBZ? Nope, SSJ3. GT? Nope, because Goku had control over SSJ4 where as Vegeta could only access it by cheating. It will be the same case with Mastered UI compared to Vegeta's new form.perucho1990 wrote:Vegetas case would fall pretty much the same as Sasukes.TheOtherDude wrote:If nobody is in Gokus tier, then you get something like what happened in the Super 17 arc. Since you seem to know how Super ends, why don’t you tell us all so we can stop wondering? You have all the answers.

Yeah I dislike Vegeta's character, but these examples from the prior two series are well documented. Tell me how I'm wrong? Tell me how it's going to be different this time when Toei has no interest in making it so? Tell me how Saskue is comparable to Vegeta when Saskue was actually equal to the main character in his shounen.TheOtherDude wrote:I’ve seen your posts concerning Vegeta. The only other way Vegeta could get those waves would be to have his tail pulled out then leave earth to absorbe those waves which would've taken time they didn't have.
After becoming an ape, turning into a golden one then controlling it was his doing, Bulma just found a quick way to turn him into a normal ape, something we've seen him do in the past with the right conditions.
