Was that Japanese merchandise? Please let me know if you do stumble across it again!
Yeah, it was Japanese, I'm just not sure if it was an official toy or not. Like I said, I don't see any reason it wouldn't be, since while I've heard of the bootlegged CD's and DVD's and whatnot, I've never heard of bootlegged (would the word even be the same...?) toys, so I'd assume it was official. I think it was for one of those little miniature sets; though my more pressing question at the time was not the spelling of Kakarotto, but the fact that his Saiyajin name was given on a toy package rather than just calling him Gokou. o.o

Though for them to have names from the show and whatnot is pretty uncommon.

Either way, unlike other stuff, bootlegs toys are typically painfully obvious.

You know how the animation guides are sort of divided into chapters, based on the story? “The 23th Tenkaichi Budokai”, “Appear the Super Saiyan 3”, and the like? Well, “Final Fighter Vegetto” is the last chapter-ish thing for the second animation guide, covering Gotenks and Gohan’s fights with Buu and the events the lead up to the birth of Vegetto. So it should basically be the last part of the book before the episode guide. The phrase itself should be on at least the title page for that chapter, written sideways.

Up top it says 無敵! 究極戦士ベジット (muteki! kyuukyoku senshi bejiito). I'd say that's pretty good.
I could transalte that entire page if you want?

You would have to make it a little bigger though. :)

Oh, we didn't need the entire page. We were just talking about the specific usage and spelling of "Vegetto" as such (as opposed to something like "Vegito" or "Vejit" or "Vegett" or "Bejitt" or "Bejitto" or whatever) in the Japanese book.

What's Gohan's "form" being called here? I can't read Japanese.

It's from daizenshuu ten; nothing of real importance in there, I don't believe.

Unfortunately I use Mystic because of habit, it's like saying Krillin in real life.

Yes I'm a lazy fan. So sue me. :)

I agree. I large part of my fandom was based on what I learned way back before I knew any Japanese, and so I took what I saw in fansubs and online fansites for, well, truth, more often than not. I've always said 'Mystic', just like I've always said 'Ultra Super Saiyajin' for its respective form. Sometimes when there's a fandom as big as DBZ things like that spread and unfortunately catch on to a point where stuff like this happens, and it just becomes a regular usage, whether or not it's technically incorrect.

Personally, I don't feel that there's anything really wrong with saying "Mystic Gohan." Considering the fact that this "form" of Gohan is never really given a name in the anime and manga, any name really seems as good as the other. The nature of the power up he recieved was certainly mystical. The Elder Kaioshin stated that fusing with a witch is why he was able to do what he did, so I'd definitly say the power up itself was mystical in nature.

OK, so this is a little rough but I think it gets the idea across:

“This is Broli, who was featured in the movies. A-Type has the special characteristic of not having golden hair while being a Super Saiyan. B-Type is a powered up Super Saiyan state. This form is called Legendary Super Saiyan because while in this form Broli loves destruction and slaughter like the Super Saiyan of Saiyan legend. Both types are used during his battle with Goku on New Planet Vegeta. C-Type is the form Broli had when he fought with Gohan on Earth; he transformed into B-Type afterwards. This is a Super Saiyan that achieved a separate evolution.”

That's mostly the same as what Z-man told me over on Gamefaqs, so it would seem to be definitly be correct. Good job. For anyone interested, here is Z-man's translation of the page. He translated, I edited it.
Z-man Trans
(You will notice a typo on this page though [or possibly a translation error], it says that SSJ2 was only achieved by Majin Vegeta.. I asked Z-man if it was translation error, becaue I pointed out that Vegeta fought Kid Buu as SSJ2, sans Majin, but he assured me it was no error, it's what the page said.)

Anyway, that page is where I got the whole "Type-A Broly, Type-B Broly, Type-C Broly" names that I used on my own guide. So, you know I wasn't just making that up randomly--it actually came from something.

Speaking of coming from something.. Herms, this is a bit off topic, but did you end up browsing your Daizenshuu for seldom known/remembered things that you planned to share with us over Thanksgiving break? Just curious.

The page does in fact list those who transform into Super Saiyan 2 as Gohan, Goku, and Vegeta when he was manipulated by Babidi (Z-man's translation simplifies this to 'Majin Vegeta'), so it's the page's mistake and not Z-man's. Though to be fair, the page doesn't specifically say that regular Vegeta never became a Super Saiyan 2.

Getting back to within spitting distance of the original topic, when looking at that page again I noticed that it lists Ultimate Gohan's form of Super Saiyan as 'Gohan-Type' (悟飯型) in the purple header part, which is certainly a new one on me (Z-man's translation just calls it Ultimate Gohan there).

Yeap, and I found what I think is some interesting stuff. I'm having a little trouble getting some of the information in my notes into a presentable form though, owing to my horrible handwriting and some problems getting things typed up in Japanese.

I'm with Herms on taking the listing of "Dark Prince Vegeta" as SSJ2 simply meaning that's how the character first showed it to us; they're not specifically saying that Vegeta by himself without a "charm" doesn't do so. It also appears that way in the second DBGT "Perfect File" book (and note how Gotenks is listed for SSJ2).
