Seriously, this is not what I had planned... In my own twisted mind, those little hentai doujinshi episodes do make sense, and I don't see them as just porn, I see them as erotic stories that are part of the continuity of Dragonball, actually, that was what I meant to say, part of the continuity, not canon.

I said part of continuity, not canon. When you have a comic in wich Goku has sexual relations with Chichi in the 10 days before the Cell Games, well, that preety much seems to make sense in the continuity of Dragonball.

Quick question - anyone ever notice the most popular yaoi pairings are the most illogical? Who the HELL (in Fanfic form or Doujinshi form) could support Goku x Vegeta!?

If your gonna be a Yaoi fangirl, at least pic ones that are hinted at/possible in the slightest.

There's my rant for today.

Indeed. I just couldn't imagine Goku and Vegeta like that. If there's any yaoi couple in Dragonball, it has gotta be Tenshinhan and Chaozu.

(Although, I'm guessing that two well built Saiyan men are more visually appealing to the fangirls than a triclops and a midget... XD)

I've always laughed at the relationship between Chiaotzu and Tien. Although endearing, it's just hysterical when I think back to the Ocean dub.

Dragon Ball Yaoi is ridiculous, period. In fact, any time in which the character isn't gay in the first place is kind of stupid as it's just some twisted fan's wishful thinking. I mean, either way the whole fan pairing thing is kind of dumb (gay or straight..) but at least if you're sticking to the character's sexual preference it's a little more realistic. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind some fan created stories, but to me the whole "I can't keep it in my pants" scenarios kind of ruin it for me.

And SonEric84 has an even better point - for it to be truly believable, it needs to be the right preference. Another reason why some of them are stupid, like Goku x Vegeta. Most fanfics on that seem to be based in the Buu Era. So, after being together with their women for that long and hating eachother for even longer, then they randomly switch? Possible, but sure as hell ain't likely.

And erm, just so you guys know, I'm heterosexual - this stuff just pops up at me out of nowhere. Can't find any good anime pics with Google unless you have your safe search off, but shield your eyes when you try to find a Goku V.S. Vegeta picture! Some people seem to think V.S. is the same thing as x.

There are a lot of series where characters don't display ANY sexuality. I think unless they're declared right-out as being hetereosexual in the series, it's just as ambiguous either way, and defaulting to 'well they're not said to be gay so they must be straight' is rather narrow-minded, as well. If a character is married or 100% certifiably hetereosexual in the series, then yeah, I can see the fangirl-twist of 'NO THEIR GAY UR JUST DUMB LOOK AT HOW KAWAII THEY ARE' is typical fangirl idiocy. But don't declare a character as being 'straight' by default if they display no particular preferrence either way - Goten and Trunks (not counting GT of course) do not display any interest in girls, for instance, and the closest thing that Goten says in one of the last episodes is that he has a date. For all you know it's a date with frickin' Trunks, so don't toss that at me as some sort of 'proof' or whathaveyou. I could point out numerous series' where this same logic applies.

However when you're taking two bitter rivals who are also married to women and have children and randomly deciding that they're a gay couple, like Gokou and Vegeta, then yeah - that's idiocy. But just because a character is not outright said to be gay, unless they ARE outright said to be straight, don't just default to it as though it's the only way they can be 'normal'. That's just as idiotic, really. I say if it's within logical boundries of possibility in the canon, there's nothing wrong with any pairing, be it het, Yaoi or Yuri.

Though pairing a member of an asexual race up with anyone just because you can...well, there's a general rule against that and it's just called...DON'T. Srsly.

Rant aside, I support Trunks x Goten (Who said I was trying to hide it?

) because there is strong evidence towards the pairing within the canon - the same as you guys are applying to Tenshinhan and Chaozu. They're children for the majority of the series and thus they never display any strong hetereosexual tendancies, but the bond they have with one another is blatently evident. To jump up and say they couldn't possibly be gay is ignorant given what I just said. I don't jump on baseless pairings like GxV and the like, because I recognize how ridiculous they are, even if I do like my Yaoi. The pairings I like are generally the same as TxG - ones that I can look at the series' canon and say 'wow, I can totally see that' for.

So long as you approach it logically, there's absolutely nothing wrong with pairing characters up.

End rant.
