But it WAS probably implied in the interview where Toriyama revealed Yamoshi, given how few righteous-hearted Universe 7 Saiyans there are in the species.

There's some live event the 22nd though the 25th. That's where it's happening though there probably will be something in VJump also.

I wonder if the Time Traveler from Universe 12 could play a role in the movie. Universe 12 didn't get erase and the movie is about the origins of the Saiyans. I could see the movie dealing with time travel.

The Time Traveler from Universe 12 is a manga only thing so I don't know if they put that in a movie. But, you don't know for sure until it happens or not.

A movie written by Toriyama is canon until he creates something else that completely contradicts it or just says to not canon. Broly has already long since been contradicted with stuff by Toriyama so in a movie talking about the origins of the saiyans’ power, Kale could be in but Broly can’t.

Being written by Toriyama makes canon by default until he isn't the head writer anymore.

Toriyama doesn't take stories he didn't write into account so the chances of this being about Broly are 0%. This doesn't mean a new writer in the future can't put everything together in one canon or outright get rid of everything outside the original manga and continue from there but until then, if it isn't written by Toriyama, it isn't canon.

Hi, guys! New here. Been a fan of Dragon Ball since I first got the cable to view it with. (Before then, I watched DBZ on a Spanish channel. lol)

On the subject of canon, yes, I think this movie will be canon. When Toriyama writes the story and designs the characters, I consider it canon. All of the manga he created is canon, all the movies he wrote the story for are canon. Super is canon, except for the filler. Same goes for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z filler. That means that the Otherworld tournament, as well as any episodes taking place in Heaven or Hell, are not canon because they were not in the manga and contradict current canon which describes personal Hells specific to certain planets. GT likely is not canon, although Toriyama was more involved in it than many think. But GT's lack of place in the canon has to do with its contradictions with the rest of canon. It wouldn't make much sense for Goku to reach all these levels of godly power, then go for a lesser mortal form like Super Saiyan 4. Plus that story about Super 17 doesn't make sense, since they were the fusion of the living Android 17 and the Android 17 made in Hell, again because we now know that Hell in the Dragon Ball universe is personal and not at all like the filler material. The reason I think that the next movie will be canon is both because of Toriyama's involvement and its connection to Super's story.

Now, none of my predictions about Super have ever come true, but I could attempt to speculate anyway just for fun. Given what we currently know, that the story will be about the origin of the Saiyan's power, I have a guess as to what the general story may be about. Perhaps it'll take place in the distant past, like long before any of the current kai's were even alive (except maybe the Elder Kai), in the Time Immemorial. Maybe we will learn that the ancient ancestors of the Saiyans were divine beings who were so powerful that the other deities feared them and cursed them with immortality to prevent them from living long enough to reach their full potential. This could be the reason why mortals like Goku and Vegeta are able to tap into divine power. Who knows? Maybe after witnessing how quickly the Saiyans evolved during the Tournament of power, one of the older deities such as the Grand Priest will see Goku and Vegeta as a threat and attempt to exterminate the Saiyan race for good.
