Episode #127 - 31th of ToP
RIP #17. Your sacrifice won't be forgotten, if there's one thing I can take seriously in the anime is the character's stamina.
No changes in game. Emperior wild prediction might succeed, Freeza wants to kill Jiren.

Do you mean a set of predictions in regards to the plot of the movie? Probably due to structure it will be much harder than ToP. I'll probably try to do it regardless but we're still a few months away.

Episode #129 to #131 - 33th to 35th of ToP
Finally it's over(a week ago sorry about that). First off with #17 surprise I've had to correct the previous order.
In the final episode Freeza, Goku and Jiren we're eliminated together. I determined their order by who appeared on the stands first, while Goku and Freeza appear at the same time Goku's closer to the screen so he was the first followed by Freeza and Jiren.
Character "Kills" Ranking:
Goku - 13 Vegeta - 11 Freeza - 8
Jiren - 6 #18 - 6 Kale - 5 Piccolo - 5 Gohan - 5 Caulifla - 4 Kame-Sennin - 4
#17 - 4 Cabba - 3 Kuririn - 2 Hit - 2 Tenshinhan - 2 Brianne de Chateau - 1 Basil - 1
Frost - 1 Jimeze - 1
Hermila - 1 Gamisaras - 1
Damon - 1 Koitsukai - 1
Paparoni - 1
Bollarator - 1
Panchia - 1
(Characters in red have been eliminated)
Congratulations to apex_pretador!
Leaderboard: 1st:apex_pretator; - 19 points 2nd:dbzfan7 and Emperior - 13 points 4th: LightBing and Doctor. - 12 points 6th: Cetra - 11 points 7th: Saikyo no Senshi and ChiefWamsutta - 9 points 9th: Lord Beerus - 8 points 10th: Gog and The gr - 7 points
Fun Facts:
Nobody got a wild prediction correct. apex_pretador was the only one to guess the placement of more than one character Vegeta and Toppo. The only other character guessed correctly was Jiren by 5 people. apex_pretador was also the only to guess the placement of a character in the "most kills" table(Freeza). dbzfan7 precisely predicted how many kills Freeza got.
Thanks everyone for playing. Looks little we are pretty bad at predictions that or we were fooled by Toei.
Ah neat I did pretty well at least in ranking. Congrats to numbah 1.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
