DBZ tribute album

Post by cRookie_Monster » Tue Oct 23, 2007 5:05 pm

So seeing how the Faulconer music has gained in popularity, the time might be right to do a tribute CD with tracks in that style.

What would you like to hear in a new CD?

I've already done two quickie tracks based on people's feedback (one based on Vegeta's death scene and another on Olibu's introduction).

More ideas?

(of course I'm going over the huge Faulconer thread as well)

Well, Cell's theme has always been a favourite of mine. And SSJ3 transformation and Ginyu Transformation are easily two of the best tracks in the dub.

Well, to be honest... I can't specifically remember which level of Cell. ^^;;

It's been several years since I've actually seen the Android and Cell sagas...

I'm so late on the beat here but I have a few.

Ginyu's Transformation- Most epic and dramatic piece of music in the show in my opinion.
Goku's SSJ3 Transformation- Really fast paced and compliments most every scene it was in.

Perfect Cell's theme is by far my favorite. I also enjoy the slow eerie piece for Android 17 and that sorta ominous music for Kid Buu.

The official Dragonball Z theme used by Funi, SSJ Transformation, and SSJ3 powerup are my faves.
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

I just Youtubed some of those tracks, and I was surprised to find how much more I liked them when they were just standalone tracks.

Some of his music is quite good, but it still doesn't fit the show properly for me.

"Gohan's Innocence" has always been a favorite Faulconer track of mine. It's on the Trunks Compendium album.

"Goku's Transformation" is great. So is....

"Piccolo's Angry"
"17 and 18 steal a car" (I think that's the correct title)
The Hyperbolic Time Chamber theme
"Uub in the tournament"

Captain Awesome, I agree with you 100%.

Woah... You're right. Perfect Cell's Theme is pretty awesome. Yet, this kind of sound doesn't sound anything like Dragon Ball Z at all, which is why I hate it in the show. But it's actually.... good as a standalone song...

A real guitar version of "Vegeta Fights Freeza" would be great, as would "Super Buu," which I suspect someone already requested, but without the title. I look forward to hearing your music!

Cool thanks for all the great replies!

I've been posting some vids on Youtube.

The one called DBZ Jam has some hints of the ones you suggested.

I'm working on a hero type theme which I has seen a lot of people asking for elsewhere (SSJ3 POwer up, SSJ Vegeta Theme, some unreleased hero music for Goku)

On the cd Vegeta's theme cut's into another track, could you fix that? Or add your own extended outro..?

Sorry, for copyright reasons I don't plan on doing any of the existing DBZ tracks, just similar ones.

I might do a Vegeta Hell's Bell type track though. (is that the one you meant?)

Yeah.

Would copyright be a problem if you just make your version of the end?
Anyway, i like magical tecno type stuff with big distorted guitar ?riffs? Sorry i dont know what i'm talking about, hope you know what i mean <(^0^)>

Are you into kenji yamamoto's work? I like his stuff almost as much as bruce faulconer's.

Ya know I think you have a point there. Maybe I'll give that a try :)

I have a few other things first in line but I'm definitely considering it now.

hehe thanks for not slamming it =D

Here's the work I've been doing on a real track. It has some Ginyu Transformation references and Pikkon as well, but its really its own animal.

Yeah, the forum does that with some terms. Other examples of stuff that's autocorrected are "h-e-r-c-u-l-e" to "Mr. Satan", "t-i-e-n" to "Tenshinhan", "f-r-i-e-z-a" to "Freeza". :P
