I think its currently a little pre-mature if this move to keep Freeza around is for the better or not.ABED wrote:It's not for the better.

Re: Funny thing about Cell.
I don't need to see it. It hit the point of diminishing marginal returns long before Super. I don't have to see it to see there's no friggin' original place to go with this. He either loses again, has a change of heart, or he gets what he wants. I don't see the third option happening in DB, and we saw the other two options before several times. There's nowhere else to go with the character.

Re: Funny thing about Cell.
Then your very wrong if you didn't see super then you have no right to judge the tournament of power made Frieza team mate of universe 7 and whis revives him at the end for helping by Beerus and goes back to rebuilding his empire. You should really watch super for the arcs did you see the Univesal survival arc,Future Trunks arc, or even the Champa arcs?ABED wrote:I don't need to see it. Re: Funny thing about Cell.
How am I wrong here? I'm not judging any particular arc, I'm judging the overal direction. What possible story reason is there to bring Freeza back? Is going back to rebuild his empire the end of his story? If so, that's awful. It's returning to a status quo.Toxin45 wrote:Then your very wrong if you didn't see super then you have no right to judge the tournament of power made Frieza team mate of universe 7 and whis revives him at the end for helping by Beerus and goes back to rebuilding his empire. Re: Funny thing about Cell.
Well hey, you're wrong. He doesn't get defeated, he doesn't have a change of heart, and he doesn't get what he wants. He has a clear goal for being in the tournament (that we learn during the tournament) that he doesn't achieve by the end, but it sets him up for future stories and gives him more of a motivation than just beat Goku and rule over everything. And it's a motivation that feels true to Freeza's character and shows a (very) tiny bit of development since RoF.ABED wrote:I don't need to see it. If you'd watched Super, you'd know that. But you haven't, so you just sound ridiculous right now.
P.S. And no, the main motivation isn't just to rebuild his empire. That's something he obviously decides to do though. But that's not the primary motivation I'm talking about.

Re: Funny thing about Cell.
They've done nothing with the character past this point, so I think it would be interesting to see the direction they take him before jumping to conclusions(as many of us did when guessing Freeza's role in the climax of the TOP).ABED wrote:I saw RoF. Also, I have some hope in the good staff at Toei handling Freeza's character, especially considering that the person that made ROF such a horrible and disengaging film doesn't seem to be working on the new movie in the major capacity required to cause any significant damage, and the other people who are in positions of authority on the project being extremely capable of handling a film and future characterization if necessary.

What? I'm not talking down to you. You're literally incorrect about your assumptions of Freeza during Super.ABED wrote:Are we at the end of Freeza's story? Re: Funny thing about Cell.
You're saying I was wrong about the ending, but that's not Freeza's ending. It's the end of A story, but not HIS story. My point that he's journey ends in one of three ways still stands.
And Freeza helping out even though he has a separate agenda that has nothing to do with turning over a new leaf is also unoriginal. Piccolo and Vegeta also did that.

Re: Funny thing about Cell.
I disagree that it was completely un-original. Though its true that Piccolo and Vegeta teamed up with or assisted Goku because it was mutually beneficial for them, I don't think either of them did so with pre-tenses of giving up on their short term ambitions. I also don't believe that either of them placed so much trust in Goku to come through for them in some way, which I think reflected Freeza's development of a mutual understanding and respect for a man whom he literally came back from the dead to get his revenge on.ABED wrote:You're saying I was wrong about the ending, but that's not Freeza's ending. Re: Funny thing about Cell.
Wow. Nice reach. ANYBODY could be broken down that simply in any show or movie ever. Spoiler alert, Star Wars IX will end with Kylo changing heart, dying, or both. Seen that before.ABED wrote:You're saying I was wrong about the ending, but that's not Freeza's ending. It's the end of A story, but not HIS story. Nope He is still a villain after the team up with Goku in the universal survival arc. Besides we still have that movie about the saiyans and frieza's origins.ABED wrote:Are any of those the end of Freeza's story?

No, I mean at the end of his arc. When it's the last we see of him.Toxin45 wrote:Nope He is still a villain after the team up with Goku in the universal survival arc.ABED wrote:Are any of those the end of Freeza's story?
Difference is that it's not the same character trotted out again and again. And even then I would agree. I think Kylo is interesting in part because he didn't have a change of heart. However, it's only interesting to a point, which is why I haven't been that high on new Star Wars movies. I liked The Last Jedi, but I could've done without a new trilogy for that reason. We have seen it.Wow. Nice reach. ANYBODY could be broken down that simply in any show or movie ever. Spoiler alert, Star Wars IX will end with Kylo changing heart, dying, or both. Seen that before.

Nah his arc will never end and also we still have the super movie that also features the saiyans and frieza's origins, also what are your thoughts on Hit,Jiren, and Black/Zamasu?ABED wrote:No, I mean at the end of his arc.
