Checking the
dragon ball movie blog it looks like we've (finally) got some news concerning hair in the movie:
"The site (here) has a few interesting tidbits:
- Justin Chatwin wont wear a wig because his hair is "already like Goku's".
- Most of the female characters (both lead and extras) will have unique hairstyles. Most notibly Emmy Rossum, Bulma, will wear a blue wig."
Yay for blue wigs. As for Goku's hair, I'm not really surprised. I mean I know that the actual style can be pulled off by some cosplayers out there, but it's probably gonna be a different thing entirely if you were to consider stuff like fight scenes. It's just less cumbersome this way.
... and some scenes to be filmed:
"- There will be a lot of oriental influenced locations shown in the movie, including one where a "youth festival" takes place. According to the article, this is wear Goku and Chi Chi meet.
Also, after searching online I came to a new article from El Universal that says Emmy Rossum is now on set filming a scene were Piccolo attacks her father and takes off with his Dragonball.
The article also mentions the oriental inspired architecture, as well as Aztec Temples (perhaps for Piccolo?)."
I think the youth festival thing is a pretty interesting idea. I'm also assuming that even though that's where Goku and Chi Chi meet, that doesn't mean that they're not attending the same high school. Perhaps the two just didn't recognize each other until that point.
I personally think the slight focus on Goku and Chi Chi's building relationship is a good idea, since we really don't get much of that in the actual series (though I guess it's understandable, since Goku didn't even know what the hell "being married" meant

).
The temples probably being for Piccolo-related stuff is alright, I guess. I'm just hoping they stuck to some of the more memorable designs from the series and keep in mind that you should be able to tell that some of Piccolo's stuff is influenced by his Namek background (ie: his throne design in the Piccolo Saga pretty much looks like the same throne that the Great Namek Elder (sorry, his real name escapes me right now) except with some skulls).
The site also brings up that the Super Bowl would be the perfect time to air the first trailer for the movie, though also mentions that it can't be a sure thing, especially since we know that the movie's being rushed (I'm guessing it's confirmed about the movie coming out in Summer 2008?).
Hey, if Paramount and Marvel can show a trailer for Iron Man during that time, I don't see why the same can't be said about DB. And the fact that the Super Bowl airs on Fox might play a role in all this as well.
