So, I asked FUNi about a US Dragonbox release again...

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Jesus... if you complain that much about the series, just stick with the Manga.

Well golly gee! She can't win with some people can she? First there's talk about kissing up to Toei when complaints are made about Funi, then when someone disproves that by pointing out that there have been issues with Toei as well, you get criticism for that! Makes me wonder here who really needs to "get a life" when certain people post multiple times in a thread for the sole purpose of pointing out how fussy others are.

Well, for clarification, those aren't necessarily my complaints. I was just listing as many anti-Toei complaints from the fandom as I could think of.

There are people on this forum who I've seen say they flat-out hate the anime and only deal with the manga, though.

Yeah, there's a lot of manga purism on this board... it annoys me personally [although I'm a bit of a hypocrite for saying that since I've been through a manga purist phase myself] but ah well.

Did anybody else got the promo dvd of daizenshuuEX ?
I was curious to know if the footage used in the ''Just Rock'n Roll'' AMV was the full frame dragonbox quality or did EX crop it ?

Well, at least I used to be like...the dude who was known for that, couple years ago.

Then I got over it.

Pick a version, like it, support it, defend it. But to complain just for the sake of complaining is something else. Especially when those complaints are across all versions.

Does anyone else find the idea that liking something apparently means never criticizing it to be extremely disturbing? It's rather widespread, too.

I won't even get into the idea that we apparently have to “pick a version”.

If you think that TripleRach was complaining for the sake of complaing, you haven't been paying very close attention to what she's actually been saying.

Hey now! Being a manga purist doesn't necessarily mean you have to try to convert people to manga purism. It's the door-to-door representatives of the Church of Bird Studios that make manga purists look bad.

I'm about 80% manga purist.

So, the question is:

Do I go ahead and buy these season sets, or wait for the possible Dragonbox release?

If it's really between those two choices, go for the Season Sets. DragonBox-quality releases from FUNi are nigh impossible.

That seem to be the case.

But, it helps when you're possibly getting season sets for Christmas anyway, then you won't have to pay for them! (Thus, saving your money for the possible US Dragonboxes!)

Sorry, I should've clarified. I don't think FUNi will ever put out a decent release of their cash cow series, DBZ. I only saw a bit of YYH and I didn't see FB, but I will agree that they did do a good job with FMA, so they're certainly capable of putting out a good release.

If you have the time and know-how, you can make your own Dragonbox quality dvd set with subs/dub with original music.

Youtubian Eyes are not worthy of those glorious clips!

I joke, I may look them up sometime.
