Man, I'm still just gonna have to wait and see this film for myself before I fix my opinion one way or the other for good. Every time I get my hopes up, something crappy kills it, and then something else hopeful comes along. Quit jerking me around Fox!

I wouldn't doubt a Super Bowl airing for the first trailer at all.

Blue hair for Bulma = yay. Goku's hair just being Chatwin's with gel is okay. I mean, you can't expect a live-action movie to represent Goku's hair when a anime-styled video game can barely do it.

I, too, am happy that Bulma has blue hair. Though I do wish they had at least dyed Chatwin's hair black. Brown haired Goku makes me pout in very, very, very mild disappointment.SSj Kaboom wrote:// Kaboom is considerably elated //

In other words, I am looking forward to this movie, and I'm following Kaboom's posititive attitude, but that still makes me pout.

If you take a close look in some of the set photos for him, you'll notice that most of his hair is parted to one side while a smaller amount is to the other, in a somewhat Goku fashion.DaemonCorps wrote: - Justin Chatwin wont wear a wig because his hair is "already like Goku's".
I'm really curious what the Japanese fans think of us trying to make a live-action Dragonball movie...

Mmm mabey, both Iron Man and Batman 2 come out next summer and they both already have teaser trailers out. But I think the Super Boul is pushing it.
That gives them a little under two months to film anything. I mean they dont even have any cast photos yet. Id say we should at least wait for those before we get our hopes up for a teaser trailer.

Really now, while it's understandable to have reservations about this film, let's not go off the deep end. Even if this movie bombs, it's not going to be the end of DB. Most fans will still identify with Dragonball primarily through the anime/manga/videogames. One crappy, live-action flick isn't going to send Toriyama's work up in flames.
I myself am endlessly curious about how this will turn out. Yeah, it'll probably be a cheese-fest, but so what? We still have our Dragonboxes, and season-sets, and manga. Might as well kick back and enjoy the spectacle.

^I really envy you, you don't give a damn if it suck or not...
I'd like to have nerves like you.
I know it will not affect DB manga/series/movies by itself, but it will affect it's name, it's pride...
BTW there are some news on blog http://www.dragonballmovieblog.com/

Good Lord... What an overreaction. What people like you need to realize is that this can never change the original manga written by Toriyama. No matter how bad this film turns out to be it can never change all the wonderful things that came before it. Try to remember that we have already had a less than stellar live action adaptation of DragonBall. That didn't change anything. We, as fans, have survived far worse than some film adaptation of the material we love. If you are seriously beginning to think that it is big enough of a issue that you are willing to throw away your life over it, then you need to take a few steps backward and try to see this for it is. It isn't the end of the world. Hell, it isn't even the end of the DragonWorld.VEGETA_DTX wrote:I'll tell you what! me and them are preparing for Kamikaze attack on 20th Fox headquarters, thats what!I'm really curious what the Japanese fans think of us trying to make a live-action Dragonball movie...
So, try to relax, and remember what I say. Hey you never know, Fox may just pull a rabbit out of their hats with this thing and make a good film. And I think they'll at least make a film that is as watchable, if not more so, than the Chinese DragonBall film that we already have. So don't worry about it...
EDIT: Hey we got some more news on the movie. Apparently, Luis Arrieta will be playing Goku's school buddy in the film. A special thanks to http://www.dragonballmovieblog.com/.

And you're right, I don't care if it sucks or not because it isn't going to effect how I view Dragonball.
Superman 3 and Superman 4 (with the late Christopher Reeve) were abominations, but the Superman mythos is still going strong. The Resident Evil flicks were cheesy, popcorn camp but the Resident Evil franchise is still booming.I know it will not affect DB manga/series/movies by itself, but it will affect it's name, it's pride...
If the live-action film sucks, then most DB fans will reject it and go back to what they know best; the anime/manga. This is not the apocalypse of Dragonball.

The sad part is, Chris Reeve wrote Superman 4.Contra Deus wrote:Umm....thanks? I guess.VEGETA_DTX wrote:^I really envy you, you don't give a damn if it suck or not...

But you make a good point. There have been properties with horrible adaptations and the fanbase is still huge
I mean look at Batman and Robin and then look at Batman Begins. Hollywood realized they had no freaking clue how to make a Batman movie so they decided to stick closer to its source.
Maybe we'll have nipple suits in the upcoming Dragonball movie as well!
If this movie turns out to be a flop, I would doubt the possibility of a 'reboot' coming from America. What I would expect is if Japan's film industry continues to grow in quality, then we'll probably get a very interesting concept of a Dragonball or Dragonball Z film. Random guess I know, but I can dream? lol

Um, maybe he'll be bald in the movie?
OC Kuririn replacement makes me sad.
On hiatus.
Yeah, now this tidbit actually has me a little worried. Some weird new guy as the best friend instead of Kuririn?
Well, I'll try not to jump to conclusions. Hopefully he gets killed or something, and we still get Kuririn at least in the sequel...

Except that they have big plans for our dear Teto if a sequel comes to pass. He'll play a major part in the "next two" movies, if this movie is successful.SSj Kaboom wrote:Yeah, now this tidbit actually has me a little worried. Some weird new guy as the best friend instead of Kuririn?
